Much as I hate to give a young player a hard time, playing with Rasmus is like playing with 10 men. He offers absolutely nothing. I know the other players don’t create a lot for him, if he was to at least hold the ball up, lay it off and get into good positions, then things might happen. As it is, his first touch is abysmal, he has the strength of a child and for his own sake he needs to move on.
Can't receive it, can't hold it up, can't keep it, mostly can't pass it and if he gets it in a good position he gets confused. He is just useless, I'm done pretending it's gonna change.

Negatives: Rasmus lost upfront now, Garnacho might as well have been sat in an armchair when Reece James turned him before crossing for the winner, Lindelof never been strong enough to be a PL CB, Ugarte starting to look a liability.

Positives and non-negatives: Dorgu trying but will go the way of the others if we don't improve next year, Maguire has huffed his way into form, Bruno the only real prime quality player in there, Mount and Casimero functioning, Shaw level pegging and somehow uninjured, Mazroui also level pegging, Onana got away with it tonight but is rash, Mainoo did nothing wrong but little else with the time he had, Amad and Bruno stood out for being creative and sometimes providing an actual threat to the opposition.

Amorim: I actually think he wants to win, and with his age and the noise around him before he took over, he must want to prove himself, sign players for him and he will get us up there, it may be painful and it might take time but I just think we need to back a manager and let him create a squad to grow together, could be wrong like, but there you go...
I'd put Dorgu among the negatives. He just doesn't have quality on the ball. Maybe one cross in five goes more or less where it should. He's like a bigger, stronger Malacia.

Honestly, a proper striker and we would have won that game easily. The system that Amorim is installing is becoming quite obvious and while it is soul destroying for Hojlund and us fans, the passages of play are breaking down for the most part by Hojlund.

If we had a more powerful and skillful centre forward who could bring other players into play it would be so different.

I don’t want to criticize a player so young who does try but he would also learn from a more experienced player around him.

Was that a farewell game for Lindelof? He looked to be in kind of exhibition mode. Non contact footie. Yeah understand, after a decade Victor needs new employer so has to keep himself fit so cant go into tackles risking injury before the deal with Boavista is signed. Good luck Lindelof.

Didn't watch the game but I expected nothing from United. To be honest, United is falling off the cliff and very soon it will become a mid table club. I think Amorim will only get one more chance next season. I suggest that he gets 2 strikers and move Hoijund. I think Hoijund is the one of the worst striker in EPL is a fact. With a better striker, you would be have more draws and wins. United standing will probably improve to mid table but challenging top 4 would be a miracle. It really doesn't matter to me if we win the European final. United is just embarrassing these days. If it is another Europe team maybe we will have chance but another English team, United will probably end up losing. That's how bad we are.

Took my daughter to boxing then went to see a little band from Manchester play a gig local to me so didn’t watch and to be honest I wouldn’t have anyway so can someone just let me know 1. How piss poor we were and 2. Were there any new injury concerns ?

Same old same old, we just don’t take games by the scruff of the neck. Chelsea were definitely there for the taking tonight.

Playing Hojlund is pointless. This system is woeful, too slow, sideways, backwards, no cutting edge whatsoever. Will it really get more dynamic with new personnel?

Whoever is the least worst wins on Wednesday then.

No new injury concerns. I don’t think either team was great but they had way more cutting edge, a story we’ve seen in a lot of our losses. Individual performances were largely average with Bruno and Maguire being slightly better than average, and Hojlund and Lindelof being worse than average.

1. Let's just say that if you went for a piss during the game, at no point during the game was there a moment that would have required you to finish up early with a kegel-esque stop, avoid washing your hands and run back to your seat so you didn't miss it. In fact, it might have been preferable if you stayed in a bit longer, squeezed out the last drop, calmly washed your hands to the full tune of "I Want It That Way" and used two paper towels to dry off your hands before reluctantly ambling back to your seat.

2. Fortunately, there were no injury concerns. Unfortunately, that included Rasmus Hojlund who did not pick up any version of the inconvenient 5-day knock that half the traveling fans were secretly praying for but would never admit to at all.

1 Stand out was our striker he’s reaching new levels of piss . 2 nope , strong team named and no injuries

The only real gap between us and them is points. (crazy thing to type)

Yet another loss to a team that doesn’t outplay us.

Loss after loss, we need to make massive changes next season. I’m not too fussed about the final at this point because Champions League football + money isn’t the answer to our problems… only Bruno and Yoro would be unsellable to me, the rest I would consider offers for.
The manager has been dealt a bad hand but I don’t see how he turns it around from here, even with a good transfer window in the summer.
What about Amad, Heaven and Obi, honestly if Saudi were throwing around £125m for Bruno I wouldn't turn that down.

Two shit teams. We’re sadly just much shitter.. but this Chelsea team aren’t feck all special.
We're not special, but then no one pretended we are, were just a decent team finishing in a decent position.

Lets not Forget you drew with Liverpool away and Beat City away. Playing the traditionally higher clubs seem s to suit United a bit more.

Football doesnt work like that though.

Liverpool didnt outplay you at Anfield and drew 2-2.

I’m not trying to discredit Chelsea’s win, i’m trying to point out the theme that we keep losing but the margins seem fine. We’re unable to tilt the results in our favour.

You dont think the team that had twice as many shots, with thrice as many on target outplayed us?
Not particularly. They had one threatening moment through Reece James outside of their goal. We even had more possession.

Were just completely toothless.

So frustrating to go in to every game knowing that no matter who we play, the opposition have a better striker and a better keeper than us.. The 2 most decisive positions on the pitch.

Not sure what game people were watching. I thought we played quite well up until the subs. Some nice link up and one touch passing and looked up for it. Everything broke down with Hoijlund though. He seems to want it in behind all the time! Link up play is totally non existent.

On a side note, how many times this season have we seen Mazrouie looking lost towards the back post??

This was a very good workout before the final on Wednesday.. We played a team much better than Tottenham, away from home, and in a game that was a must win for them and we competed very well and should've come away with at least a point had we kept our best players on. Hojlund upfront is a liability, I hope Amorim has a surprise for Tottenham up him sleeves, and try a Mount, Garnacho or Mainoo as a false 9.

Garnacho allowed James to send in a beautiful cross, he put no pressure on the ball.
That was terrible from Garna I agree. Doesn't excuse Mazrouie doing his best Wan Bissaka impression looking lost in no man's land for the umpteenth time this season.

We did play well for large parts. Things could have been a lot different if Harry had been an inch more onside, of if Mount could have finished on target, or if Amads shot to the first post got a little deflection, or was a little lower perhaps. We are not creating enough of course but we are honestly not far off.
Höjlund is sadly completely lost up there, which obviously hurts our dangerousness. If that is a word.

Mazraoui have a lot of qualities but he is very much a classic fullback, not a central defender, which shows at times.. could be a lot different defensively if Yoro and de Ligt were fit.. we are definitely a bit unlucky with the injuries at the back.

But we are all a bit tired of losing now.

The worst thing about the club is that not only do we know we’re going to lose our PL games, it’s that we’re ok with it.

Hopefully we can win the Europa League and get rid of this weak ass mindset

At this stage certainly we aren’t anything special we are playing to simply limp over the line.

They say the table doesn’t lie although I always think it’s only a relevant come the end of the season but in terms of goals scored we have hit the back of the net 50% more than Utd which based on history is very unusual. Meanwhile our goals for and against basically reflect our current league position.

It’s a bit too easy to seek solace in the average age of our team but it is relevant in the overall scheme of things simply because many of our players are just entering the purple patch stage of their careers indeed we still have several younger players already on contracts who will be added to the squad yes it’s abundantly clear we need a different GK, an experienced CD and without doubt a forward. The forward alone will cost a fortune but is necessary.

Last night your team was vastly experienced indeed your best performers were both well into their 30s. You do have some decent youngsters who will form the basis of your squad going forward but in terms of number of players that have reached the end of the road age wise and need replacing as you all know will require vast funds and that is the issue for you and an immediate one at that.

So yes we aren’t all that but still very much work in progress

That was Cuccurella making a great well-timed run in between the CBs, not Mazraoui doing anything wrong.

The fact we are unbeaten in the Europa all season and cannot win a game in the Premier League for toffee is kind of telling, these players have zero motivation when there is nothing much on the line.

Its manageable when its one or two players but when its 80% of the squad then the manager has huge problems.

Total clear out if possible this summer.

I’d say it’s more about the physicality and soft refereeing in Europe. Although I’d like that summer clear out too.
