Viktor Gyökeres

I remember people saying Zlatan and Henrik Larsson wouldn't be good enough for the Premier League... Come to think of it someone needs to get them on the phone to Gyökeres, to tell him what it's like being adored by United fans.

Don't think we're after both Gyokeres and Delap tbh. Think we've sounded both out about a possible move and the player we move for depends on our result tomorrow.

Funny that he’ll go to someone a lot cheaper than we paid for Hojlund

I think his decision is purely based on CL football.

As I said in the Transfer Tweet thread, maybe we are going after both Delap and Gyok?!

Muppets UNITE!
Not that I think it would ever happen due to lack of reliable sources pushing it, however could we actually be able to keep them both happy

Pretty confident he won't be a United player next summer. No way we can afford him, Cunha and Delap without selling anyone.
It is Delap OR other striker. So Gyokeres and Cunha can be easily done (if we will sell players who we plan to sell).

There's an idea, pity Elanga didn't play enough or Blomqvist had injury issues then could have got them involved

Hear this every season
Well to be fair our accounts are publicly available due to being listed on the Stock Market. We have actually burned through all of our cash on hand and so will only be able to buy using our credit facility and potential funds raised through player sales, and before we even get started we have to pay a sizable chunk of the 300M we still owe in transfer fees for players signed in previous windows. We might have cried wolf in the past but at this moment in time we are actually looking for loose change down the back of the Carrington sofas as a result of the reckless spending.

If we can finish paying for the likes of Onana, Antony, Hojlund et al and recruit more responsibly we can restore the clubs finances reasonably quickly due to our high revenues but that is still going to take a couple of years minimum and we will need to be very prudent in the meantime.

He’s got no loyalty to UTD.
He’s one of the most sought after players in Europe, he’s possibly got the opportunity to win the PL if he goes to Arsenal who are coming second and got to CL semi versus the opportunity to go a team 16th, who have not got the players and who have a crumbling stadium. I’m not a betting man but I do hope he Loves’s Amorim enough to come because there’s very few other reasons.

Yeah that feels to me very much the case too

It might be dependent somewhat of players leaving, but the plan must be to sell Sancho, Rashford, Antony, Höjlund, Malacia maybe Casemiro in the summer. And we have sell on clauses for Carreras, Elanga, Greenwood. With some luck all will get moves and that will of course help us a lot.

Are you familiar with Ornstein's reporting on this very topic ?

The money is already available without any need for sales.

Yes, he says the money is there for Cunha in installments and Delap, but does not mention Gyokeres once.

That's correct. He was referring to Cunha and Delap. But, Gyokeres is only going to cost another ~20m more than Delap, so you can see why its completely plausible that we buy Gyokeres and Cunha. These numbers are before sales, so they wouldn't include selling Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Hojlund, removing the wages of Eriksen and Evans and the possible sales of Garnacho, Zirkzee, and others who may move on to make space for new players. All of this is before we even get to additional 85m we would earn from CL qualification. So in the end, we could have somewhere between 150-200m to spend this summer.

Maybe there is racism against Swedish strikers.

I would honestly question his ambition if he joined us

But seriously, there’s no chance he chooses us over arsenal or Chelsea or Liverpool if they sell

And that is not taking into account that new players will be bought in installments not all in one lump sum.

That also fails to take into account the 100M or so we have to spend on players we already signed like Onana. It works both ways. We have very little currently incoming from players sold in previous windows but owe a massive amount on signings we have already made meaning that we begin the window in a very deep hole. Alvaro and the sell on clause is a nice and unexpected start but cross your fingers for a few more of these or it will be Cunha, Delap and maybe one other signing.

The annual payments on the likes of Hojlund, Casemiro, and Antony will be offset by sales and CL money. Also worth noting we could be making even more by way of potential sell on fees if Greenwood and Carreras are sold this summer.

Well clearly you are confident for the final!

The final will be the most important Europa League match in ManUnited history

Don't forget we'll get something with Alvaro's sale to RM. We also seem to have an answer for Antony, we either sell him this summer or we end up doing a loan with an obligation to buy through Betis. Honestly Sancho and Rashford are the last ones that our pathways are not limited.

Selling Onana and Hojlund will be something we probably punt for one more season. And we still have the 50% sale of Greenwood who performed well in Ligue 1 as potential play this summer, the Saudis still are interested in him.
