I do agree with that point on Zirkzee. He became the target instead of the whole team, because he was taken off early. If he was just subbed at half-time, there wouldn't have been a problem. It's not great. I just think booing Trent is worse.My point is that in this particular instance, the booing specifically towards Zirkzee was unwarranted.
We have a manager who's being treated with kid gloves because it's his first season and he hasn't had a transfer window etc. but on the other hand a young player in his first season under his second manager in a matter of months, gets singled out for booing in the first half of a game when the entire team had a shocking half.
As I said in an earlier post, I see the booing of Trent as people who've been his family expressing their displeasure towards him just to get it out of their system. I'll change my mind if it happens again, but I'm sure Trent would prefer this to them doing it at the parade and making it awkward for everyone involved
If he gets on the pitch in their last game at Anfield this season, I'd expect it to happen again, but let's see.
