IPL 2025

The BCCI is strict on age fraud over the last decade but there is the occasional one. He's probably 15-16.
I know it’s only T20 cricket, but even if he’s 17 to score like that as a novice teenager in the IPL is pretty special, sort of Luke Littler like. Looks like he’s a generational talent.

Kind of sick of the whole age debate tbh, it's largely irrelevant in his case. The amount of batting talent in India is genuinely insane. This is the first year where a lot of teams are now playing with less foreigners than allowed which shows how India is producing so much more talent than before now.

Well said. How does it even matter. He scored a fastest 100 by an Indian in IPL against international bowlers. Hopefully RR owners, management , Rahul Dravid take care of this kid.

Just seen the highlights, can't comprehend what this kid has just done.

even if there're questions about his age, whether its 14,15,16,17,18 ( He looks physically incapable of being older than 18 ), why does it matter?
He's a young kid, almost off the street, playing at a very good level and smashed a very good attack for 90 minutes.

I just learned there are three of them. all Lefty and all openers.

I think the focus on age is because every year he is off by, it’s exponentially that much more harder. Seems reasonable. 14 year olds doing this feels once in 100 years, whereas 16 year old doing it is amazing but a lot more believable. Either way - it remains the IPL's greatest innings for me.

Anyone watching RR vs MI?

Did I just see Gareth Southgate in the dugout wearing RR gear?

Oh. Just assumed all the owners were going to be Indian. Might go down the rabbit hole on this
Well yeah the RR guy is of Indian origin but from Britain. Rest of the owners are all Indian. Couple of years back when two new teams came out a set of owners from America who United fans know very well tried to buy a team but were unsuccessful

I think Gujarat Titans isn't owned by Indians

Just checked - they sold 2/3rd this year to an Indian group.

RR has generally had English players (think one time they had Buttler, Stokes and Archer all together) so that's lead to a few English cricket fans having a soft spot for them.

Interesting. I just follow the players rather than the teams with how it's done. Massive buttler fan so I'm currently a GT fan

RCB top of the table, CSK at the bottom. Never thought I'd see that

I legit thought if CSK win today, RCB will face pressure to be in the top 4.. a lot of games against teams with nothing to lose

CSK threw the game away today.

In the game yesterday, with 6 off 3, the ball hit Dhoni's pads and ran to the boundary. He was given out before it reached the boundary. He reviewed, and was out. But if he'd been given not out, the ball would be considered a dot ball.

At the very least, why don't they re-play the ball?

Would it not have been 4 LB? The same way when bevis was out they ran the single that actually caused them to miss the challenge time limit?

Apparently the ball is considered dead the moment the umpire raises the finger(it was about 70% of the way to the boundary yesterday). So the 4 does not count.

Missed yesterday’s matches. Did Shepherd just score the fastest 50?

Second fastest but I do wonder if he set a record in another way: the latest a player has faced his first ball and made a half century. His first ball was 17.5.

Yes i saw somewhere, that is a confirmed record

Bloody hell. Thanks bud. I see Jaiswal scored one in 13 balls, with a few others players, including Shepherd, on 14 balls. Crazy to think the first ball he faced was at 17.5

Good stuff. Are the likes of buttler playing or is he coming back to England for the t20 games?

Livingstone is the English maxwell where the IPL is concerned.
