I can't believe Liverpool lost at home to Barnsley

I can't believe that the world's best defender turned his back as Howard shot for the winning goal. Poor defending.

Just watched the highlights and it looked like a cracking game. Good to see that one of our former players made a string of excellent saves to deny Liverpool. Brilliant result in the end.

I can't believe Barnsley let Dirk Kuyt score.

Imagine if our lot had lost to Barnsley at home, I can't even begin to imagine how embarrassing that would be and to think some Liverpool fans are poking fun at our loss after this!

Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise, Benayoun, Alonso, Babel, Kuyt and Crouch played today, all bar maybe Babel are established PL players. I saw the result and thought it must of been some proper weak team but if you can't beat Barnsley with those players at home then you have problems mate! The biggest problem is Rafa but I'm glad you Liverpool fans are 100% behind him, just makes it easier for the other top 3 and don't need to worry about Liverpool too much. I might be wrong and he might turn it around but he has spent a lot, had time and still looks nowhere near competing in the league.

Wow, you have to wonder why a lot of our fans think that Arsenal supporters are alright...it's a cup competition. These things happen. I can get over it. Rafa's track record is about what Wengers was in his first decade in charge if you take into account his two titles for Valencia in Spain, maybe more impressive actually. I hope we stick with him.

As for those players, Hyppia, Benayoun, Kuyt and even Alonso (at the moment) are not first string.

I cant agree with you anymore mate! Long live Rafa. You're the best ever.

He ain't in Spain anymore

Itandje looks suspect, to say the least.
You know, I only saw the last 10 minutes (and that winning shot was unsavable), but in previous cup games Itandje had impressed me. I had come away thinking he was quality and y'all had done really well to replace Carson like that.

Is that a consensus opinion among Pool fans, that Itandje's dodgy?

Barnsley played their socks off, especially their keeper, Luke Steele, who I understand was their THIRD CHOICE as keeper. Played the game of his life. I'm glad we drew a bunch of muffins like Arse instead of a tough team like Barnsley.

Voronin looks good to me, I think Kuyt is a very good player too, just a bit slow. We have Wayne, Tevez and Saha, but you can't really count Saha. They have one less striker of the Wayne/Tevez level, but more depth than us.

Disagree re centre midfield, they have Gerrard, the best CM in the league, Alonso who's excellent, Mascherano who's top class if a bit boring, and Sissoko who's solid enough. No-one's got better CMs than that, certainly not us, maybe Chelsea are about the same.

hehe
sorry, Plech ;)

He he. Babel was their best player. Rafa subbed him.

Keep Rafa At Pool :D

I can't believe Barnsley let Dirk Kuyt score.

Babel put it on a plate for him. I was still suprised when he scored though. I had to rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I mean, he seems to be making a career out of missing sitters. Obviously this one was such a sitter even he couldn't manage to miss it.

It's not good enough. The twat needs to get back on the training ground and practice putting it over the bar from two feet.

Arsenal played excellent football under Wenger from the very beginning, they won the title in 1998 when no one really expected them to do so and ever since then they have played some very good stuff. Last season was their worst I can recall and even then they managed a League Cup final and CL spot easily.

You haven't improved at all under Benitez. He took over a team of players from poor to average with a couple of exceptions and that's what he has at the moment too.

No excuses really, we played without Ronaldo, Giggs and Tevez who happen to form 75% of our front four yet still managed to outplay a team slightly better than Barnsley.

But I'd like you to stick with Benitez really, over the last three years he has shown that he is completely incapable of challenging in the league, and this season it got even worse which is good from my point of view.

Babel really is starting to look like a good player
