I was afraid someone would point that out, but I have seen Carbone on the wings... just that I really wanted 4-4-2

----------------Cech----------------
Gallas----Carragher--Leboeuf---Sharpe
----------Gerrard--McAllister----------
---------------Ljungberg--------------
-----Carbone ---Hughes---Hasselbaink------
Have you considered this:

-----------------Cech----------------
---Carragher----LeBoeuf----Gallas-----
Ljungberg--McAllister--Gerrard--Sharpe
---Carbone---Hughes---Hasselbaink----

Just that you have 3 really quality centre-backs there, two obviously talented wingers and a fantastic central midfield pairing. All in all a very nice team, just not with great balance the way you had it perhaps.

ROODBOY ROVERS FC

------------------- Southall -----------------
Petrescu ----- Walker ----- Terry --- Staunton
Barnes ----- Scholes ----- Petit ---- Waddle
----------- Klinsmann --- Owen --------

Of course, I am totally biased but I think my team is great - all these players were truly world class players
Quality line-up. Given where you were on the picking list (9th), I've no idea how you've gotten away with that.

Anyone who knocked Petit has clearly forgotten him in the 97-98 double winning side, not to mention how good he was in the ever so nearly 98-99 side. John Barnes was still brilliant well into the 90's and scored plenty of goals too.

A centre-back pairing that also looks to compliment each other very well. Carvalho/Terry or Butcher/Walker esque.

I doubt there's a better goals/games ratio for forwards out there, though I could be mistaken.

My team:

------------------------ 1. Cudicini ---------------------------

-- 2. G. Neville --- 5. Toure --- 4. Woodgate --- 3. Fortune ----

------------------------ 6. Makelele --------------------------

------------------------------ 8. Redknapp -------------------

---- 7. Malbranque ----------------------------- 11. Duff -----

------------------------------------ 10. Henry ---------------
------------------ 9. Saha -----------------------------------
Mentioned before, but:
Probably the best right-back,
Probably the best holding midfielder,
Probably the best striker.

Not many can boast a possible 3 who are the absolute best in their positions. Though Fortune was just a mental pick!

Final Lineup, very solid lineup :D

--------------Lehmann
--Lauren----McGrath---Southgate---Lescott
-----------Speed-----------Ince
---Mcmanaman--------Di Canio-----Young---
--------------Shearer
A suggestion, if I may:
Move Di Canio up top with Shearer and have McManaman and Young as conventional wingers, much better balance (though I suspect this was kind of your idea anyway, it's just lined up a bit more cavalier!). Very strong side.

We looked at the team, and figured the team by itself wasn't going to win it.
So I had to help out by playing the Evra-card.

or just Sicknote Athletic..

Woodgate and Toure forms a strong centre back pairing. Malbranque will be cutting in from the right wing, and therefore leave space for Neville to run. Makelele will sweep up everything infront of the back four while Redknapp supplies the wingers and forwards with passes. Duff will be a constant threat from left wing and Cudicini is one of the best goalkeepers.

Saha will act as the target man and Henry will be cutting in from the left in familiar style.

Fortune is a great guy and also a solid left back.

Cheers to Top for the pic.

I reckon my team is pretty well balanced, enough going forward and covered defensively. I also have probably the best left-sided partnership in Premier League history, they had a great understanding during their playing days together. Arteta will be free to roam, if Solano cuts inside as he likes to, Arteta will just swap to the wing to draw players away and vice versa. Flamini will be doing his running for him, cutting out attacks and releasing the likes of Giggs and the others on breaks. Berbatov will drop deep at times and look to feed runners beyond him, playing in Ferdinand who will poach goals. Can also count Giggs' newfound midfield ability which is like two players in one. Neville can also play midfield and Nobby can play RB, lots of versatility. For corners i'll be looking for the likes of Laursen, Ferdinand and Berbatov to be getting on the end of them.

Do we decide our penalty, corner and free-kick takers?

A lot of this will be based on what quality you have and what weak links are in there as well, because with so many players chosen, there will be weak links. Plenty of quality here and I'm struggling to see any real weak links. Good work.

Top, get into my office. Now!!

Jaaskelainen completes the draft then. A very good pick, too. Very underrated goalkeeper.

What now?
