Possibly, in the Daily Mail today, apparently because he's English.
Makes no sense whatsoever.

He grew up in Buckley, North Wales, to Welsh parents. The problem is that the nearest hospital to that area of N Wales is Chester, so technically everyone is English, even though they're not. It's resulted in Wales losing some good footballers over the years, Michael Owen being one of them (he didn't live in England up until his move to Newcastle). He's Welsh, isn't he?
We've let go of talented players in the past (even if it was rarely), I think he's going there as mainly a squad player and he'll be cheap, so not a bad deal all round. He's English now is he? He is a friend of a friend, and was always considered to be Welsh.
Strange move on behalf of Liverpool, if true. We wouldn't have let him go if we thought anything of him.
This is typical of Rafa.
Aye, I suppose he could make a good squad player for them. I really can't see him developing into a first choice player for them, mind. We've let go of talented players in the past (even if it was rarely), I think he's going there as mainly a squad player and he'll be cheap, so not a bad deal all round.
Really? Where did he go to school etc?He grew up in Buckley, North Wales, to Welsh parents. A village called Hawarden in the Deeside area of North Wales. He played for the same youth team as Gary Speed and Ian Rush. He still lives nearby in a place called Ewloe, where he has a mansion and a street not far away which he bought up for his family.Really? Where did he go to school etc?
which is why Liverpool won't win the title. For the record, name one British/Irish youngster we've released, ever, who turned out good enough for a title-winning team?
Good point. Even former United players who end up at mid-table sides usually hung around into their early 20s (Eagles, Richardson etc). It would be very rare for someone we let go at the age of 18-20 to make it at a club like Liverpool. What the feck?
Because we - rarely - let talented players go and you've decide he's cheap (despite no mention of a price) this is suddenly a good move by Liverpool? Bizarre logic.

He's not very good, even Rafa won't pay more than a couple of million for him (at max). He's being bought in because: 1.He's English (or can qualify as being English) and 2.To be a squad player. What the feck?

How old was he, I thought he was in his very early twenties. the problem was we just didnt relise what we had with Giles.wasnt a youngster

If 6+5 does come in, he'll be another that adds to the numbers. All things considered I'd say it's a good move.
24 when he joined Leeds, been with United since 17How old was he, I thought he was in his very early twenties. the problem was we just didnt relise what we had with Giles.

I think Sir Matt did. But Giles tells the story that he knocked on Sir Matts door one day and demanded more money. He said Leeds were offering him more. Sir Matt stood firm and Giles believed the boss did not really believe any player would walk away from United. But he was a stubborn little git and he didHow old was he, I thought he was in his very early twenties. the problem was we just didnt relise what we had with Giles.
My mistake.24 when he joined Leeds, been with United since 17
The age of logic has not yet hit the caf.
I cant believe such a well known ex-star of ours is betraying us like this, i was a huge fan of his, i wont forget this Bryan Shawcross!
Wrexham Maelor is not that much further and it would be in the correct district. He grew up in Buckley, North Wales, to Welsh parents. I meant he's not good enough to be a first team player but as a squad player and someone to make up the numbers in the 6+5 rule; he's good enough. If they manage to get him for a few million then it's a good deal.
He scored a few goals for Stoke last season- he looked a decent player- good luck to him. He's not that good really. I hope Liverpool buy him.
