We are so much better when Rooney is in the team.

He may not have scored today, but his passing, vision and link-up play between the midfield and the attack was fecking immense.

Glad to have him back, whatever the circumstances.

That's why we wanted him back. He's our best overall player and makes our team just that little bit stronger.

He may not have scored but every other part of his game was brilliant today. Well done, Wayne!

Can't fault his determination, creativity, movement, directness....heart beat of the side, makes us tick, drives us forwards, however you want to describe it.

Him and Berba linked up well. Wayne was selfless today and I loved it. Didn't care much that he didn't score

Damn, what was Fergie thinking???!! surely he should've sold him? I mean, come on, what's more important the team or morals?!

As I mentioned in the match thread, the last time Rooney and Berbatov played together at OT was vs Liverpool, Berbatov looks a different player next to Rooney.

Wish he'd have scored a few.
We probably all did. But it definitely looked like he was passing up opportunities left and right in order to send a very deliberate message that he was here to play for the team and not himself. Atonement of sorts.

On a side note, commentators mentioned that our win % when Rooney is involved (as starter or sub) is around 74%. Without him, 52%.

No, he isn't. He's too inconsistent.

He was pretty consistent last season and I'm confident now that he's returned he'll be the catalyst and with that return to last season's form. He's clearly our best player. You'd have to be pretty spasticated to chose any other player above him.

Tell you what, explain to me why Rio's better....
