Sub-standard in every area of the pitch. Special mention to Matic and Fred who were abysmal and an embarrassment.

I don’t see anything where you’re thinking to yourself the players had worked on that in training. It’s just pass it around for passing it’s sake. No movement, nobody to open up a defence, no skill, no one to dictate a game, nothing. The players look utterly clueless.

Commentator: what positives can you take from this Ole?

    Ole:
Ole: Great attitude from the lads, they'll be disappointed with this, could've gone either way, should've had a penalty, terrible pitch which made it tough for us, Jesse's a proper player, great attitude, he'll be disappointed to be injured, Rashy's great, everything is great and we're progressing in training it's just these pesky games where they can't translate all our progress into actual performances but we're definitely progressing honest.

I can remember when we struggled to score it was due to the keeper having their best game of their season against us, now its their easiest game of the season.

Having youngsters with rusty (and shit) seniors is not helping.

Wish we had a Keane on the pitch to put a rocket up their arses, theres just no fight, passion or energy. At least Williams had a go, along with mctominay.

The boys ran well......they ran well.....did I say they ran well.
    He would add.
We just have to keep working and things will improve. Really. Just keep working. This was a difficult match and I am delighted with a draw.

To be fair: it was a shit pitch, which we weren’t used to, we had loads of kids playing only their second or third games from the start and were playing against a team one point off the top of the Dutch league!

We controlled the game! Big concern though is our total ineptitude at creating chances! No one seemed to want to make anything happen- totally passive

Obviously the pitch did not help, with our players not being used to playing on an artificial surface. Injuries were also an issue, but I think considering the team we put out it was not a bad result for us. We did not win, but we did not lose either and I can take many positives from the match. Also AZ Alkmar are a decent side. So we are happy with the result.

I just said to my wife "why is Carrick laughing with someone on the touchline? Why is Ole fist bumping players subbed off?" Fecking scream at them.

We're such a passive, lethargic group and this has unfortunately coincided with a time when the squad is average and a new(ish) manager.

If Ole is going to stay (and that looks less likely by the day/game), get the passion back. I can just about take losing/drawing IF I see 100% effort.
Lad, I was thinking the same both times. You aren't on you own!! The time he camera panned to Carrick, it was a break in play, the Dutch management had players gathered around, being very vocal and focused, everyone listening in. Then it shows Carrick, strolling to the touchline, hands in his pockets, Gomes asks him something, he shrugs his shoulders and laughs. Gomes asks him something again and he looks lost. The Ole laughing on the sideline, highfiving players with a massive smile as they are being subbed. Where is the fecking passion. Why are you smiling? This shit is awful. Nothing to be happy about. Embarrassing. Imagine fergie or his staff being like that if we were going through a run like we are, hell as painful as it is to say, imagine Klopp or Pep or any of their staff acting like that. Zero passion. Said it months ago, can't remember what game it was but it was near the end of last season, same crap hugging players and smiling after a terrible defeat. Referring to players as Rashy and Jess and Jonah in post match interview. Christ on a bike, you are their manager not their teammate. Sorry I know I'm ranting but the club is soulless and passionless at the minute and it's killing me.

That's on ole, he pushed lukaku out for rashford as the main striker last season and put the priority on the defence over the attack knowing that lukaku was going to leave because of how Solskjear was using him and made not effort to reassure him that he would be an important player for the team like conte did
Possibly but I'm still thinking of a miracle worker for this shower

I thought after over turning hone pressure in the first half we would come out fighting and win. Instead we played some of the most boring football ever. I didn’t see any plan or design to win, worse there was no desire. The subs only made our play more predictable like Rashford’s shot over the bar and Jesse limping off.

Oh come on. We dont have to over rate 2nd tier opposition.
We dont have enough goal scorers.. the ones we do have are not fit.. I dont expect us to score 5.. but we'll be fine.
Pray tell me your prediction for the Newcastle game. We still fine?

Potential banana skin avoided, lots of your first team out, most difficult away game in the group, on a dodgy pitch, youngsters get a game in a tough environment, you come away with a comfortable point, I wouldn't be too worried by that.

    My brain can't get pregnant!
I don't know what all the fuss is about? I mean really? Ffs! We put in a commanding performance against one of the strongest and most prestigious teams in Europe. We played well, dominated possession, had countless shots on and off target, basically, we ran them ragged. And on their own ground too!

This was reminiscent of the top United performances away from home in Europe. We should be proud. But no.... Yet again it's easier to be negative! Damn, these types of matches are what we as United fans should live for!

Well, you were both right and wrong and I was totally wrong :wenger:
Yes, I was wrong and someone here writing ‘Ole won’t dare start Williams’ was also wrong. :)

I thought Williams did surprisingly well even if he was positionally lost a few times and a bit rash on a few occasions. Was defensively more sound than Dalot. Also surprised we kept a clean sheet with that back four, but De Gea and Lindelöf showed the way.

Way too many changes for my taste in the front part of the pitch. Flow of play becomes very difficult, and at a time when it needs work. Not the easiest of conditions for Greenwood and Gomes to find their feet in, to say the least.

He looks like someone who was given the job out of pure nepotism and who knows that he will keep it irrespective of how we perform
