If we win there I think the mood will turn significantly. Crucial game.

Yep. Crucial game. We have momentum. Making it 4 away wins in a row can do wonders for the team going forward. Luckily Bournemouth go out and play open football. No sitting back. Pretty much like the Norwich game, this. So rinse and repeat for us...

Pretty horrible game to have straight after Chelsea, especially away.

The lads are going to be really feeling the pace, but the confidence we've regained from the last 2/3 matches will do them wonders.

The feeling has changed though, amazing what a few wins in a row does. Would absolutely love it for Ole and the boys to take another win.

When you're on a good roll and are building up vital confidence then that should give the players ,even if they're tired, more motivation to seek out a positive result.

important game. Palace play Leicester and Arsenal V Wolves.

If we win this, we could start to close the gap.

We really need to get the momentum going.

I have a good feeling about this one, actually.

    ------------------------DDG----------------------------
    ----------Jones-------Maguire---------Rojo------------
    AWB---------------------------------------------Young
    -----------McTominay-----------Fred-------------------
    ------------------------Pereira--------------------------
    --------------Martial----------------Rashford-----------

SUBS - James (Rashford), Mata (Pereira), Greenwood (Martial)

    AFC Bournemouth 1 - 2 Man United
    Martial and James.

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Young
    Mctominay Fred
    James Pereira Rashford
    Martial

Lineup picks itself right now. Not sure when Shaw will be back but we havent really missed him tbh. Lingard is the only other potential but he needs to start performing to get in.

Bournemouth a good opponent for us though. As long as we stay solid enough at the back like we have all season, I think we'll make enough chances to win by a couple.

Has anyone watched Bournemouth recently? Looking at their recent results they dont appear to be conceding many goals (not scoring them either)

    Sheffield United (h) 1-1
    Villa (a) 1-2
    City (h) 1-3
    Leicester (a) 3-1
    Everton (h) 3-1
    Southampton (a) 1-3
    West Ham (h) 2-2
    Arsenal (a) 1-0
    Norwich (h) 0-0
    Watford (a) 0-0

Just checking, has Fred played in all these improved performances?

I mean, he has definitely improved, but earlier in the season he didn't actually look like a footballer, so it's all relative. Hope he can get some form though.

Think you misunderstood @fps. Sounds like he's trying to equate the improved team form with Fred playing.

I think he has an energy and drive which can keep the team from being swamped in midfield, he presses higher up and isn't easy to ignore for the other team's midfielders. He needs to continue to learn re positional play and I have been as harsh a critic as anyone else, but the more he plays, the better he looks.

Well, there seems to be something in it, no? McTominay and Fred is a more mobile pairing than McTominay and Pogba.

Good fixture for us imo. Bournemouth's style of play should suit us, they'll come out and play rather than sitting deep and defending. They also have a terrible record against the big boys.

Rojo quietly, and studs first, making his way back into the team, after being a stonethrow away from having to dress for the cafeteria team and make lunch for the others instead of playing football last season. He's not lights out, but he's proving serviceable. I did not see that one coming before the season started. Will be interesting to see who goes off the bench and onto the stands one Tuanzebe is back.

Joshua King has 1 annual game of "trololol" against one of the t6 clubs. Chelsea last year, would prefer if we could skip that one and hammer them 5-0 for a confidence booster like no other. Looking for a double from Dan James, these guys will give him space

If it’s 3 centre backs he’ll be using it’ll be Jones in the stands as he’ll need one left footed centre back

They’ll attack and we’ll catch them on the counter.
Nearly prefer away games these days.

Will be a difficult one playing after 2 days and a tough Chelsea game where players look knackered at the end. Plus side Martial and Perreira were rested.

    De Gea
    AWB---Maguire--Lindelof---Young
    Mct---Fred
    Mata---Perreira---Rashford/James
    Martial

I will take a win even if it's an own goal.

Hoping Williams gets another start. We low key just found what could be a fantastic LB for the club in the middle of the season at 19 years old.

Team picks itself at this point:

    DDG
    AWB VNL Maguire Young
    Fred McT
    James Perreira Rashford
    Martial

Would love to leave Young out for Williams, but i think Ole will pick Young.

1-3 to us, with us hitting them on the break: Rashford x 2, Martial with the goals

We might be able to get away with Rashford starting on the bench and Lindelof injured, but Maguire out would be a huge blow. Greenwood should be in the squad after his goal in the reserves and now even more-so with Rashford unlikely to be 100%

I would like us to play three at the back again, but only if we have the four CBs fit. Otherwise, I'd put my money on a 4231 with Andreas/Lingard rotating at no.10/right wing or 442 diamond with Jesse at no.10 (assuming Rashford and Greenwood start on the bench).

    James and Martial up top.

I think we'll draw this if we are missing the three players in question, might sneak the win if one or two are fit. I think it's going to be incredibly hard work for Scott and Fred, but hopefully they can get through this one and miss a game in the near future.

Have to win. Keep building momentum and try to be as close to 4th as possible before the Spurs game. Will be a tight game and I feel Martial could be the key for us.

    Make it 4/4 Ole.

I'm not to worried about the amount of rest they are getting. As long they are training lightly I think the team will be fine. Coaches should just be concentrating on tactics and sharpness. Plus we should be benefiting from the hard pre season we had. The other thing is; if we do keep this run going, nobody wants to be left out of a winning side.

True, Fred surprises me when sometimes he's up there pressing, he does seem to take his role of stopping the opposition play very seriously, and maybe he's getting used to the speed and physicality of the league now. Scott has never been afraid so there's that.

It’s the same amount of rest as last week after EL and we’re not travelling back from Belgrade so not sure why everyone is fretting over tiredness.
Mate I just don’t know. I’ve never seen a fan base get so weary over players playing two matches in a week. The way people act on here as if playing two games in a week is some career altering shocking experience.

He does take his role seriously and he plays at full effort and his own full intensity for 90 minutes. I hope he continues to improve, he’s 26 not 23 so he needs to make some further tactical strides.

Also he has a frustrating habit when he shoots of fading the ball out rather than in, which sums him up tbh haha.
