bournemouth know they are safe so this should be an open game as they aren't fighting for points which might just make it easier for us to be threatening despite our shit away results

Has anyone said that this is a must win now with Liverpool beating Leicester?

Bournemouth are no mugs... they've beaten Liverpool at home and drew with Newcastle away, they almost took points of Arsenal as well(losing 3-2).

The interesting thing I noticed about their home form, is that it's like our away form... absolutely horrible. In the last 4 games at home they managed to lose to Chelsea, West ham(4-0) and Brighton. They only beat Leeds.

It's going to be a very interesting match were an unstopable force(our crappy away form) meets an immovable object(their crappy home form). All in all I expect us to take 3 points of this lot, even though it's going to be a hard fought match

If we turn up and match their effort and don't make stupid unforced errors we will probably win.

Can never be too confident though with some of these players. They can go from good to woeful from week to week.

Liverpool beating Leicester tonight means this has become a must win game to keep the nerves settled.

    There, I said it

I think the week long rest showed last time out, and it will show again.

    *Assuming Rashford isn't fit.
We saw Fred reach peak Ronaldinho levels in the last game (with his dribbling and positional awareness), so I expect him to drop off performance wise as he rarely if ever has 2 good games in a row.

In the last 3 games we lost to both West Ham and Brighton, not at home though. And if i remember it correctly drew against Leeds at home (2-2?) not long time ago. Don´t jinx it mate :)

Another weeks rest, it feels strange. Let's hope this actually makes a difference. Will Rashford be fit?

    DDG

    Shaw
    Lindelöf
    Varane
    AWB

    Cas
    Eriksen
    Fernandes

    Rash (Garnacho if not)
    Martial
    Antony
we don’t have to go crazy here. I say that because I think I’d rather another man in midfield.

    DDG

    Shaw
    Lindelöf
    Varane
    AWB

    Cas-Fred
    Eriksen
    Fernandes

    Garnacho-Rash

Garnacho did superbly through the middle on that goal, Fernandes can occupy the right but I think if we control the midfield our two lightning bolts up top will do more then enough. Bring on martial or Antony as a sub. I wish martial showed enough to start, for me Antony is a detriment at the moment. He needs to take a step back. I think he’ll come good eventually

Judging by the post on the MUFC Instagram, it seems we are playing one last time in the green kit.

I don't think we've won in the (very few) times we've played in the green kit :nervous:

I'd almost forgotten about the green kit. I wish I could forget about the white one as well.

Can't we play in our home kits? It might trick these nitwits into thinking they're playing at home and we might come away with a win.

We won vs Southampton away from home and it was in Green kit.

When we play away we seem to give home side too much respect let them have the ball more than they should they gain confidence, we lose it they get chances or score and we fold.

we could lose a game away under ole for quite awhile and struggled at home. Now we swapped.

I would start the same side but would probably get Alejandro on at the hour mark as Sancho disappears.
No reason to hear any crap about the opposition wanted it more in our remaining games as they are not easy so I hope our boys are up for it.

We are going to win this game.

Varane is back adding to our defensive solidity and enabling Shaw to play on the left. We have a full week between games again, which means more energy. Bournemouth have nothing to play for. There really is no excuse.

Just go with the strongest line-up:

    DDG
    AWB - Varane - Lindelöf - Shaw
    Casemiro - Eriksen
    Antony - Bruno - Rashford
    Martial

Rashford injured, not sure why so many people are choosing him? I'd play

    AWB Varane Lindelof Shaw
Casemiro Fred (Eriksen has been poor)
    Antony Bruno Garnacho
    Martial

That way we have Dalot, Eriksen, Sancho on bench to change the game

It will be a tight pitch so Antony and Sancho might actually be better to start and then bring on Garnacho.

I've been mentally scarred this season by some of our performances and results away from home which have been horrific, so we could be playing Boreham f**king Wood and I still wouldn't be confident of the win!

Even the "our away record against the bottom half is good" argument fell to shit at West Ham. When you keep on producing inept performances away from home, eventually the contagion spreads.

Hopefully we can create and score some f**king chances in the first half, and not make any calamitous goalkeeping or defensive errors, that would be nice!

There are literally no excuses on Saturday. Bournemouth are average at best, with little to play for, and their ground is the smallest in the PL, if the players are intimidated by that then God help them.

Please no green kit. This one is going to be nervy enough without the added bad omen of that toxic green.

I see no reason why we can't wear all white in this?

Other than Southampton or Leicester I'm not there's a better team to play away right now.

Liverpool or Newcastle would beat them comfortably, and so should we.

We must not only win, we must crush the opponent early enough to allow us to cruise through the last 30 minutes of the match. Even though we had the extra days off between the last two league matches, the boys looked fatigued in the last 30 minutes of the match. But because it was a nervy 1-0 lead, with more than a few caf posters concerned we were going to concede the equalizer, the panic button was never out of reach.

I wouldn't say leicester is a team anyone want to face right now. Sure they are bad but they are desperate to stay up and this time is the squeaky time for relegation battle. I think they still have a chance to get a draw vs Newcastle.

I hope Bournemouth don't take this too seriously now they are already safe from relegation. And also they are in poor form recently ever since they are mathematically safe.

I think we need to win this - just not certain we'll get three points off Chelsea: they will be the typical "raise-their-game" team at OT next week

Beat Bournemouth, Chelsea draw, beat Fulham. Newcastle to lose against Brighton and pull them into the battle with Liverpool and we get 3rd

We always make things harder for ourselves, but I'm really expecting a win here on Saturday.
