Will you guys think that the stupid international break will have it's bad impact on us? I mean was it better to have another game after this one too?

The hell, forgo completely the match time. How are we playing ?
It'll hurt you to hear this but well. Burnley creating absolutely nothing; Jose's tactics and selection has nullified them entirely. Sanchez and Shaw are linking up very well, Lingard finding space at will, and Lukaku could've easily had a trick.

Excellent again Shaw. Why the flying feck we had to bear Young over there last season, I'll never know.

Shaw on the left shows why Valencia needs to be benched, we should have kept TFM this season.

But, a good first half. Kept it nice and simple

Best half in a long time. Nice pace in attack at times, good decisions, work rate ten out of ten.

Too many false dawns in recent years to read into anything other than it being a fantastic half. Given some of the reactions to Liverpool’s first half yesterday I,m surprised this place isn’t proclaiming that we’re on for the treble.

Lukaku again... what an easy goal  Burnley are going down this season. So bad

They massively overperformed last season and got lucky with clinical finishing/really bad opponent finishing. Fully expected them to be woeful this season
Setting the stage for the, it was only Burnley narrative.

Shaw did extremely well there. To have a proper LB doing that, makes a lot of difference.
Another excellent showing from Shaw today, his driving runs forward are a godsend down that left flank. Plus he is linking great with Sanchez.

    European football as drained them.
They were shit to start with, flattered by how terrible the bottom 12-14 teams were last year.

Excellent performance from Utd, came out positive, pushed forward with pace and aggression, looked to dominate the game from the start. It is the way you have to approach games against the smaller teams.

Say it again, Shaw has been incredible, driving forward at will, causing chaos, dominating that side with his powerful running, best player on the pitch by some distance.

Very good first half. This is a confirmation that Mourinho has not lost the dressing room. Very professional and good performance from plenty of our players. Sanchez has been really good.

The way Mourinho is reacting to these goals - you can see that he desperately wants to succeed here. I'm very much in the Mourinho to stay camp. He'll make us come good again.

Shaw has been great. Lingard started well and fizzled out abit. Sanchez had been good. Pogba has been okay without doing anything wrong. Lukaku done his job. So far, so good.

Great first half, hopefully we don't just settle for it and invite pressure. Take a different approach and get the third and fourth because it is there for the taking today.

It's a professional performance, Burnley shows zero intensity but we are doing the job perfectly.

This is great.... we need to cash in on a team who clearly aren’t up for it and play ourselves into some confidence.

Fantastic Lukaku, sniffing about after the first chance is gone and striking. It’s like he’s been reading my moaning posts, now go get that hat-trick! :D

    HT Observations:

Lovely display from us, looking very sharp and determined.

Lukaku is great at (mostly) burying chances against the minnows, it's time he brought this kind of form to the bigger games.

Having said that, Burnley have been equally poor - their European exploits clearly affecting them.

Great to see the fans getting behind Jose. Hopefully this can kickstart our season.

Finally, today has also convinced me to go out and buy the pink jersey. It looks

Some people post stuff that has absolutely no bearing on the match being played, and at the weirdest times. We've were playing a decent amount of time there with the ball on the ground and people were posting about hoofing.
Yeah.. We have done well. No question burnley have been poor but we have played well. Lingard/shaw/Sanchez have been excellent.

Shaw's quality again shows how poor Valencia is, he just does the same old tired trick every time.

Can't get over Shaw's transformation, it's astonishing really.

Pretty tumescent stuff but the cracks are getting papered over due to how awful Burnley are, Mourinho is a lucky man.

    we playing well then?
Yeah, we’re on it, and Burnley are incredibly poor. Not pressing us whatsoever, they just look like they want this to end before the game even started. Probably knackered after Europa

Umm why ? I feel like I have changed from a Mourinho apologist in the view of the form to a Mourinho hater now despite not saying much. Say something @SirAF

    Much better stuff.

Luke Shaw has been brilliant again, when he is on form he has every aspect you would look for in a modern full back.

Alexis has had a good game, he is taking up clever positions and looking after the ball well. Jose's use of Fellaini also deserves noting as he is managing to create an overload in our favour whichever team has possession.

Great first half. Probably the best we've played in a while. I like the formation as well. 4-4-2 diamond in attack, and 3-5-2 in defense with Fellaini dropping into the middle of Smalling and Lindeloff. My only complaint would be that I would rather see Matic take up that role and have Fred on the field instead of Fellaini. Not that he's done anything wrong. I just prefer him coming off the bench in an attacking position. It's also been strange to see Pogba out on the right so much but it seems to be working and we could be up by a lot more than just 2
