Thought we'd be better today tbh but 3 points most important thing. Palace will be far more difficult

    Thank feck for that.
    We limped to that win.

The supposed worst team in this years PL and they outplayed and outclassed us.
If they could find goals, we would have been blown away.

    .
Burnley haven't been too bad this season, there big problem is they don't have someone to get goals as you say.

Somebody said the other day he can play in defence.
He can and we needed him on left back, to take Evans off, but he should have been introduced in midfield at least ten minutes before that. Then maybe moved to the left back

    Shite game.

3 points, clean sheet. That's all that matters.

    Feck off Burnley.

And feck off Kompany with your silly dress sense, what the actual feck is all that about.

And a big feck off to Craig Bellamy.

Good earned win but all in all we are light years behind City, Arse, Spurs, LFC in terms of goal scoring

Poor performance. However incredibly important three points and clean sheet for Onana. I'm hoping we can use this as a catalyst to kickstart our season. We now have a few upcoming games that I expect us to win.

I'd like to see Ten Hag use his subs better. The game was crying out for Garnacho.

Think the manager was taking into account this midweek game. He does take it seriously where a lot of managers play weakened teams. Although with the injuries we are playing a weakened team every game.

Hannibal should be in front of McTominay at least in the pecking order.
    Hannibal is a 10 and McTominay is a 6/8.

Hannibal will be competing with Mount, as I can imagine ten Hag will now play Bruno on the right, especially with the ongoing issues with Antony and Sancho.

McTominay, on the other hand, will compete with Amrabat, Eriksen and Mainoo, who I believe would have started the season if it weren't for his injury.

I do; however, think McTominay provided that much needed steel that we've missed. Not pretty by all means, but we kept a clean sheet and didn't look as porous as we've been in recent weeks.

Burnley completely dominated the Championship. They're obviously not the worse team in the PL in years. Luton are definitely worse.

We probably had no intention of bringing him on aside from if we had to due to injury

Better second half. First half an hour we kept our shape better and made it harder for them to have clear cut chances. Their subs made it harder but we did enough. Very wasteful ourselves in attack. A win is a win but limping to wins over sides like Burnley is a real concern. Just hope we can get some of our key men back ASAP and not lose anybody else.

You are probably right, but if his plan is to start Amrabat in the midweek game, Amrabat desperately needs some game time to gain form, after missing pre-season, so playing him for 20-30 minutes made more sense than playing him for 5 minutes

They did nothing of the sort, for the most part they passed the ball around tidily and without threat, with one nice move that they should have scored.

In contrast we scored one, had another disallowed, missed a tap in, and were a poor final ball away a load more times (that last one is the story of our season so far going forward so it should be something we work on).

That makes sense, but if that is Erik's assesment of Amrabat's readiness, he won't be starting midweek, will he? At least not in midfield. Possibly as left back, out of necessity. That sucks :(

The way we've started the season, we'll take any sort of shitty 1-0 win, but anyone thinking that performance will be some sort of springboard for a sudden upturn in form are being overly optimistic.

Read again, "tell how it is" and then I mentioned Mr Scapegoat. Guess who? Or maybe I have to draw a picture?

Maybe he decided to lie after realizing our Divas have precious little feeling and are easily hurt.

I am sorry for telling it how I see it instead of being modern day football fan or fanboi who want manager out for no matter what like you obviously are.
Again, congrats on being top red!

Now find me one my post where I say that I want ETH out because you're talking out of your arse.

Amrabat looked awful. Should sell in Jan.
We don’t own him to sell, he’s on loan but he might find EPL pace a little too hot, he certainly doesn’t look to have Mainoo pace or ability to glide round the pitch. Way too early to judge him though.

Was there another Amrabat on the pitch out there? Cos the only one I saw was on-loan Sofyan Amrabat, who played for less than 5 minutes at left back, and obviously nobody is idiotic enough to make a statement such as this based on a sample such as that?

Think this is where possession stats are misleading. We created nearly as many chances with less possession.

I back Evans to do well. Hes not got the pace obviously but has always been a quality defender. It was a mistake selling him, and he has shown many periods of sustained quality for Leicester. Fitness has been an issue for him, but if he is in a drilled structure then he's an asset.

I actually think hel do ok and might get quoted a lot tonight if he fecks up
    Yes Evans you LEGEND

This game was a "win at all costs" game, who cares about the performance?

We had a back four of Dalot, Lindelof, Evans and Reguilon. We had McTominay in a diamond again. We had a 20 year old starting his 3rd game for us at CF.

This could easily have gone very wrong. Some posters are so disrespectful to teams like Burnley. This is not the Bundesliga or La Liga - every single team is capable, well organised and full of internationals.

In any case, it really wasn't that bad. As usual, the highlights have been cut to make it look like Burnley threatened more than they did. They had one good chance but we created so many more good openings than they did.

Yeah we were quite happy to let them have the ball, they had one particularly nice move in the first half but beyond that we kept them at arms length.
