Feck is going on with the traffic and infrastructure in London.

Quick, Woody, get us an official helicopter partner and start flying the guys in.

Glad Rooney's starting as he's been playing well of late, I'm hoping his inclusion can be the difference tonight.
Rooney didn't impress at all against Zorya, but the conditions kind of excuse him.

That back four shouldn't be conceding any.

that's not an inspiring bench. The slow feckers in the 11 need to sort it out. This will be a poor poor game to watch.

We should probably start thinking about leaving a bit earlier to be honest.

Wonderful, I was wondering if I'd have time to finish the film I'm watching before kick-off. Nice of the team to make sure for me.

This no-pace attacking lineup worked against Swansea, didn't it? And Fellaini played instead of Herrera, so...

I remember we all complained about lack of pace before the Swansea game too. Granted Swansea aren't as good as Palace (5-4 win aside) but it's still good enough to win.

Pace is not the be-all and end-all, you lot do know that right?

Hope Bailly has a good game at RB.

Why? Tired of this idea that blind isn't a good defender. He's made individual errors like any other man, but no way near as frequent as any other good defender. Shaw and Damien have been caught out of position more than him FFS.
Didn't say he wasn't a good defender. I think he's too slow to handle players who can run at you with pace and have the skill to do damage. This is just not a match up where I see Blind coming out on top. I'd love to be proved wrong though.

No width except for Blind with some crossing. Going to be a long night. Calling it now. Not going to be a fun game for us. If we win it's going to be a squeaky 1-0. More likely we are going to drop points.

Even an out of form Martial would be nice to bring on for width and pace.

    He's a defensive midfielder (Carrick's position)
I know where he plays, thank you. He was used by Mourinho as Valencia's substitution at RB a few times earlier this season, but he didn't even make the bench today

This will be very tough. I think we won't create much, but hopefully Pogba or Mata can steal it with a piece of magic.

Are the people in charge of travel not aware of how bad traffic can get in a major city like London?

Absolutely baffling, and this isn't the first time that this as happened.

Those responsible need to be fired.

It's ok, if it was Mkhitaryan over Rooney that team would be alright.

Yes, but the last time Timmy was GOOD at right back was last seasons game against Spurs where he got hurt, Darmian came in and the Spurs scored 3 goals.

I like Fosu a lot, but perhaps he's simply not good at tracking forward AND tracking back.

Happy with that back 4, comforting to see Bailly in there, and I've always preferred Blind over Darmian, he offers a lot more going forward.

I haven't seen the formation though, so I suspect Pogba will be out on the left? With Rooney in behind Ibrahimovic? If that's the case, will be interesting to see how he does, everytime I've seen him play further up (i.e. middle of the 3 in 4-2-3-1), I've not been overly impressed, I've found he is much more comfortable in the 2 (hardly surprising since he is a CDM mainly).

I'm happier with our supply from the wide areas now after that selection, Mata with the creativity and vision, Pogba with the flair and strength, with Blind backing up one side. I was concerned before with the loss of Valencia and Mkhitaryan.

I presume Martial is injured given he's not even a sub...I hope anyway, wouldn't do his morale any good if he was just suddenly shunned, seems unlikely to me though.

Good luck lads. Looking forward to this one.

1-0 or 1-1 with everything to be played through the middle. We're in for a grim game I think.

Concerned at the lack of pace up front for sure. Back 4 is pretty strange as well. Not sure where Martial is, presumably injured. It would be odd to completely drop him otherwise.
