It's a difficult decision but I really think we need to rest Casemiro for this. Not sure we should risk Rashford or Fred either.

    De Gea
    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    McTominay - Eriksen
    Antony - Bruno - Garnacho

Palace fans the noisiest in the PL. We need to shut them up early if that’s possible. Reckon the big fella will be on at some stage as Martial and Rashford are doubtful. Hope he picks Pellestri.

They've got about 200 lads in one section to the left of the goal, can barely hear them when you're in the away end so i'm sure Varane/Casemiro and co will be able to somehow handle it.

I'm tempted to suggest a first game for Lisandro at DM. Eze and Olise are quick and get into decent positions in that area. And Malacia should need less rest than the older players, with Shaw at LCB.

We should really sell McTominay and buy some 25 year old DM doing well in midtable who can backup Casemiro then backup the next guy. Amrabat before his World Cup glow-up kind of thing.

Needs balance. Arsenal away, even full strength, we will be massive underdogs for a win. A draw would be a good result. If you rest out most important players here, you seriously increase the chance of dropping points here, where at that point we are then relying on a win to make it worth it. 5 points out of City, Palace away and Arsenal away would have been a good result. We are well on course and now we should be aiming for 4 more points. Get the win vs Palace, then think about Arsenal where a draw or a loss wouldn't be a massive different to our season. A draw vs Palace is 2 points dropped, and then we either make up for it or we are behind on the norm.

I think it's fair to sit Casemiro mainly for the yellows. Rashford really depends on Martial's status, because if Martial is out then you have to play him upfront. If Martial is fit then you could get away with subbing Rashford on

I have no idea either, yet.

Yep, getting the 3 points against Palace has to be the aim. Any points dropped v Arsenal is not a disaster.

It's a really tough decision but I'm now leaning towards playing Case and not resting anyone. I've changed my mind about 3 times already! There's no point resting players and dropping points here - it would be stupid. We might drop points with our best team out too, so probably best to take it one game at a time.

The FA have really screwed us over moving the game to this date. I'd only rest players that are injury doubts.

    De Gea
    Dalot--Varane--Martinez--Shaw
    Casemiro--Eriksen
    Antony--Bruno--Rashford/Garnacho
    Weghorst

I don't expect Martial to be fit for this game so start Weghorst if ETH thinks it's not too early. If Rashford isn't fully fit then I'd start Garnacho instead. We could really do with Antony putting in a great performance here,

Then would hopefully revert back to this midfield and attack vs Arsenal:

    Casemiro--Fred
    Bruno--Eriksen--Rashford
    Martial

I’d like to start off with the below and then bring the big guns on at the 60 min mark if we need to…

    DdG

    Malacia
    Shaw
    Martinez
    AWB

    McTominay
    Eriksen
    Bruno

    Garnacho
    Weghourst
    Antony

Bring on Rashford, Casemiro, Fred, and Martial if we still need a goal second half…

    Possible banan skin this one.
It really is. I can’t believe some of the lineups I’ve seen in this thread. We need to play as strong a team as possible to ensure we get the three points.

I think whatever team Erik selects, it’s going to please some folk and annoy others (nothing new in this place I suppose). Fred & Casemiro both being a booking away from a suspension against Arsenal is an absolute nightmare scenario going into this game. Real dilemma whether to play them or not and take the risk but John Brooks being a card happy ref when he wants to be, it’s a risk I’d rather avoid. Plus McTominay-Eriksen worked really well as a duo at the start of the season. Having said that, if they do start then fine. Martial doubtful, therefore I won’t be surprised if Rashford starts up top. Will be nice to see two striker options on the bench (if Martial is deemed fit) for the first time in a very long time!

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka - Varane - Martinez - Shaw

    McTominay - Eriksen

    Antony - B.Fernandes - Garnacho

    Rashford

Subs: Heaton, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Casemiro, Fred, Elanga, Weghorst, Martial (if not fit then Pellistri)

Score Prediction - Crystal Palace 0-1 Manchester United

Arsenal game is 4 days after, why are people nervous? Forest is the game to rotate

Must get the 3 points tonight. Be a lot less pressure then for the game against arsenal. I’d take 7 points out of 9. But hoping we pick up all points in the next 2 games.

I think I change my mind on the line-up. The Palace game is more important than the Arsenal game because its the game we have the better chance of winning. So I think we should go full strength here and maximise the opportunity and then rotate at Arsenal. If we win at Palace, we can play Arsenal under no pressure. A loss at Arsenal is not the end of the world.

No but would be if Casemiro/Fred aren't available

Hoping sancho is involved in some way, if he's ready. Could do with some competition for Antony on the right.

As weird as it sounds, I'm more worried about this game than the City one.

With the big games you always feel you have a chance, especially recently with our confidence back.

With teams like Palace, unless you pull away early you'll have to grind out a result for 90mins. Also with the heavy fixture list, I'm guessing there'll be some changes to the starting 11. Another potential banana skin.

Can’t see many changes when our last game was 4 days ago and a 12:30 kick off as well.
We can rotate for the more than winnable three cup games after Arsenal

The pragmatic and sensible thing would be to focus on this game. Increase our chances to win by playing our strongest XI, even if it puts the next game in jeopardy.

But I just can't bear the thought of losing to Arsenal. They and their fans are absolutely insufferable as it is. Them winning will make me have to go around with a bucket to vomit in. Ughh... I'd let Casemiro, Rashford, and Varane sit this one out. Or at least play significantly less. It's such bullshit we have to play this game and they get a week to rest.

I know that I'm getting way ahead of myself, but if we win our two next games, we would be three points behind Arsenal (having played a game more).

It would be a fantastic position to be in, though I would happily take a draw on Sunday.
Tonight won’t we be a walk in the park despite Palace’s recent form.

5 points from City at home, Palace and the Arse away would be a good return.
