One look at that pie chart when playing a championship side is so so depressing. Something has gotta give sooner or later. I don't know how this can be allowed to carry on the way its heading.

Don't worry too much guys, they're currently losing 4-1, we haven't lost by that margin in some time so we're actually the better for team for this one, so might be able to scrape a draw for us to lose this at old Trafford.

Their two centre backs were shocking tonight conceding two penalties and the own goal.

If I was manager, this is the team I would play - not specifically for this game, for every game at the moment barring further injuries or signings

    DDG
    Darmian Smalling Jones Blind
    -----------Schneiderlin (6)
    --------------Herrera(8)
    ----------------Mata (10)
    ------Januzaj Rooney Martial

    (433 formation)

    What do you think?

I'd put Derby favourites for this. In fact I'd put pretty much anyone in the top two leagues favourites against us. We barely scraped past Sheffield at home who are 8th in league 1 and Derby are 5th in the Championship.

0-0. We'll try to attack half-heartedly but if LvG is still here he will definitely not want to lose so the focus will be on defending.

Martial needs to play in the middle and Rooney dropped. Darmian will likely be out for a long time so you need to plug Jones at RB, Blind as CB and CBJ at LB (unless we get someone in during the window).

I forgot about Darmian being out. In that case I would make sue I bought a full back ASAP

    I would play 433

    De Gea
    Varela - Smalling - Blind - CBJ
    Schneiderlin
    Herrera - Pereira
    Januzaj - Martial - Memphis

Well Derby can't buy a game at the moment...which means somehow they'll pull this one out the bag. Going for a 1-0 to Derby. Such is the shittiness of United at the moment. Be interesting to see what team he puts out on Friday.

This is going to sound ridiculous because they lost 4-1 but believe me that was Derby's best performance for a few weeks! The first goal was an own goal, followed by 2 penalties and a wicked deflection. Derby's goal was a superb finish by Butterfield. In the first half they were much improved from previous weeks and they will give us a very good game on Friday night. Remember - Sunderland have scored as many league goals as us this season so their defence will hardly be quaking in their boots.

I am going for a boring 1-0 or 2-0 win with 3 shots on goal for us.

And we'll play a strong team and get a couple of injuries to boot.

That's a pretty regular problem for them, it was pretty much the reason they weren't promoted last season and the season before. I'd like to think we can take advantage of that, if played centrally Martial could have a lot of fun.

No matter who we are against we just can't score. Just park the bus, have someone with pace and play on counter and set-pieces and we'll assist you by adopting strange tactics. Only the rare occasion when someone produces something out of nothing can we score.

Basically Derby has to make an unforced error for us to win. The probability of a win depends on the stupidity of their defense.

Some miserable cnuts in here. They lost 4-1 last night ffs. Ok, admittedly against an in form Burnley, but this will still be a comfortable victory.

LVG will play a strong team and we'll win with a comfortable, but unconvincing, 1 or 2 nil.

At this point, while the FA Cup still matters, I'd much rather give games to players like Pereira and Januzaj just to get the feeling of excitement back. Even if we end up losing by a goal, we need to play fast attacking players who are progressive with the ball at their feet. The simple addition of Andreas and Adnan could change a lot about the way United play. With Martial and those two, we'd have three players that are exceptional at running with the ball, meaning that Martial wouldn't be up against 4 players every time he tries to run with it. Hoping for a win obviously, but if we play attacking football and lose I won't be too disheartened. We'll have to see what team Giggs decides to pick on the day.

Either 1-0 to Derby or a 1-1 draw.

We will play for the draw, the replay and the extra gate receipts. But I think Derby may edge it

Boxset or movie time, while this is on, but then watch the recorded version while everyone else has gone to bed.

Rest of the family can't be introduced to this torture.

BBC have already got their Derby shirts on and can't wait for two hours of Red-baiting. Of course, it's expected but I can think of better things to do on a Friday night.
