    Eriksen Casemiro Bruno
    Shaw Martinez Maguire Lindelof
    De Gea

Probably this, unless Sancho is fit then drop Garnacho and move rashford left. Off the bench we have McTominay, Fred, Malacia.. Elanga I guess. World Cup coming at a good time here.

Think that Ronaldo will not play this game, suspect he will not want to play because of the WC. Doesnt matter he is not useful for us anymore. I would have liked to get Antony back for this game but not sure too.

People are nut putting Rashford on the right or dropping Martial to play anyone else at CF. On the right it's either Antony if he's fit to play or Sancho whom I also doubt will be fit. I don't know if Garnacho can play on the right which means that side is still hard to predict. I hope Ten Hag doesn't shunt Bruno there again, it simply doesn't work but I could see him doing that again.

Garnacho to come on if changes are needed.

This is true. Even if he plays, he won't exactly be running about will he.

From his press conference, sounds as though AWB won't be match fit to play, so expect Lindelof or Malacia at RB.

Says Ronaldo's illness is not serious but we'll have to see.

Antony could be available on Sunday but he didn't sound like it's likely.

Mentioned Sancho has struggled with illness the past weeks but no indication on what it is or his availability for Sunday but would assume he'll be unavailable though.

I think we'll see Bruno RW and Donny as the no.10 as I don't think he will put Rashford back out on the right.

Every time Ten Hag says something is not serious and the player should be coming back soon, it always ends up with the player missing several weeks.

 this time he explicitly said "it's not a serious illness that takes days or weeks".

We are so, so depleted. And whoever is left has their eyes on the World Cup and will be very careful not to get injured, so we can't expect much. That right side is just dreadful. Who do you even put there now?
Are you a Fulham fan, just for clarity?

He just can’t play Donny again. He’s dropped three successive 2/10 performances. Unless Garnacho is worth a go on the right, it’s got to either be:

    Rashford - Martial - Elanga
    Bruno

    or

    Rashford - Martial - Bruno
    Eriksen

Neither are great but best I can think of to do!

This… I’m interested to see what that front 3 can do together. Can garnacho play on the right though? Rashfords awful on the right.

I know we have finally done something to resolve it and it’s very unfortunate both Antony and Sancho are out at the same time, but it is unreal how much of the last 10 years seems to have been spent trying to cobble together a team because we don’t have a RW available!

World Cup might play a part in selection. Players going to that tournament are guaranteed to be thinking about it, and I am not sure I would even blame them if they were. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw some weird results this weekend.

De Gea, Malacia, Lindelof, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Eriksen, Bruno, Garnacho, Rashford, Martial.

Rashford can't work at right so why not try Garnacho there, with Sancho and Antony injured. Either that or a Casemiro/McTominay/Eriksen midfield 3 with Bruno on the right and Rashford on the left flank. Basically only dilemmas seem to be about RB and RW spots, rest isn't hard to predict.

City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal have easy games to play while Newcastle and Chelsea are facing each other so not like you can expect most of our rivals are going to drop points this weekend.

Fulham away is tricky fixture, not that I watched much of them but from what I have watched they seem to play with energy and great intensity. Their place will probably be rocking as it's last game before WC.

I cannot see how Malacia will play RB as he struggles to cross the ball with his left foot never mind his right and Victor is as slow as a wet week.
I hope Fulham don't have anyone decent on the LW!

My point is I can't see why Ten Hag would or should switch Rashford from his best position nor why he'd opt not to go for Martial as CF when he's by far our best guy there.

Garnacho's good outing isn't enough to shift Rashford away from his preferred position to accommodate him. If he's to play he's likely to come off the bench. We've seen players who performed well be benched the next game when Ten Hag main players came back, case in point Fred after the Tottenham game.

Ten Hag will probably keep Rashford and Martial in their optimal positions and go with Bruno on the the RW, not ideal but still better than Rashford out of position and Martial out.

Does that mean Donny again at 10 though? He can’t do that again surely?

I don’t want to see Donny start for us ever again so for that reason I’d have Rashford out right , Garnacho left and Bruno in the middle provided Sancho and Antony aren’t available

Really should be winning this match, if we lose this I’ll be most disappointed. The only worry is if players have one eye on the World Cup and don’t commit 100%..

I don't like it any more than you do, but maybe the idea is that if Garnacho is on a run of good form , he might actually our most direct and threatening attacker. Rashford is better on the left, true, but even when playing well there he isn't really capable of beating a man like Garnacho has shown he can do right now. I've never seen him on the right but maybe it's a case of him being far more efficient from the left.

    Or something.

Mitrovic being injured is good news for us... he is, isn't he?

Would be nice to see a front four of Bruno, Antony, Martial and Rashford someday...We might get 3 of them tomorrow!

Just hoping he steers clear of starting Ronaldo again.
Just saw in Ronaldo thread MEN saying he was not at Carrington training on Saturday. One less distraction and probably will mean a better performance. Especially with Bruno coming back in league game and not deferring to Ronaldo. Hopefully Sancho recovered enough to be on the bench to give some attacking cover though.

    No Sancho or Antony :(

    Garnacho Martial Rashford
    Eriksen Casemiro Bruno
    Shaw Martinez Maguire Lindelof
    De Gea
One of Garnacho or Rashford on the right then. Guessing we'll play Lindelof at right back with Maguire CB, though could be Malacia RB with Lindelof central.

Maguire or Malacia, Fred, McTominay, Van de Beek and Elanga the senior subs. So I'd guess Elanga for Garnacho at some point, Malacia to come in, and McTominay.

Please God don't play Rashford on the right, he's never had a good game there in his life.

If there's an attacking player who has to play out of position it surely has to be Garnacho. You can't be moving your most productive attacking senior player to his worst position because a kid has had a couple of bright games. At least Garnacho might have a chance of having a good game on the right, with Rashford it's basically 0%.
