I had no idea AWB was back. If he's back then he should definitely play. Dalot has been a train wreck this season. He needs at least 2 months on the bench.
You mean train wreck during his whole United career except for 3 good months last season?

Why havent we seen a return of Bruno to a deeper role where he played a few times last season. It would leave room for mount or eriksen in the more advanced role.

    Eg...Amrabat/Bruno/Mount

This is from the athletic as recently as april

'One of the more eye-catching aspects of Erik ten Hag’s first year at Manchester United has been his problem-solving on the go by tactically re-profiling his players.

If management is like trying to build an aircraft while flying, then Ten Hag has spent parts of this season not sitting in the cockpit but on the fuselage, trying to craft the landing gear into a propeller.

Defender Luke Shaw’s left-footedness has been used to maintain balance in the centre of defence. Wout Weghorst’s ability to drop and link play briefly brought something different to the No 10 role. Jadon Sancho’s reintegration was helped by moving inside into the same position so that he was surrounded by more team-mates.

However, one of the most interesting re-deployments of all has been the shifting around of Bruno Fernandes, a player who has always had a strong claim to being United’s most important and influential play-maker, wherever he is on the pitch.

At the turn of the year, Fernandes started appearing on the right wing. More recently, during the enforced absences of Christian Eriksen (due to an ankle injury) and Casemiro (due to a four-game domestic suspension), Fernandes has enjoyed a recent spell in central midfield.

His performances from this deeper position have been met by rave reviews — not least from the United manager himself.

“When you miss (Eriksen and Casemiro), you have to find a solution to bring up from the back, to get the build-up in, to progress the ball and to attack,” Ten Hag said after last weekend’s 2-0 win over Everton. “We found the idea to bring Bruno down more deeper and he is doing brilliant. I think he is playing really good games.”

I disagree. The players need to knuckle down and perform like the highly paid pros they are.
    It’s on them.

You could honestly put all the players’ names in a hat and draw them out to determine what your starting lineup is. I honestly couldn’t care less what the team is because that lot don’t care themselves whenever they step out onto that pitch. Going to give the game a miss anyways. Catch up on a few tv series and play Spider-Man 2 on the PS5. More enjoyable than watching this lot play like a bunch of strangers that have never played a game of football before.

    Onana

    AWB - Varane - Maguire - Reguilon

    Amrabat

    McTominay - Eriksen

    B.Fernandes

    Højlund - Rashford
Bayindir, Dalot, Evans, Hannibal, Mount, Mainoo, Pellistri, Martial, Garnacho

Fulham 0-2 Manchester United (more in hope than expectation - trying to add some bit of positivity to my post )

I will be back from work and want to sleep when this game starts. I definitely won't skip my sleeping hours for the current Man United. Honestly kinda glad I have an excuse to skip this game. I don't care about the result as I'm pretty sure we will play like shit regardless even if we manage to scrap a win.

Naturally pessimistic atm but I’d like to see this:

    Onana
    AWB-Varane-Maguire-Reguilon
    Amrabat-Casemiro
    Antony-Bruno-Rashford
    Hojlund

I think we’ll need all the steel we can get in midfield. Casemiro might have lost his legs but he’s still far more effective both defensively and in attack (scores goals) compared to Erisken. I’d rather he was the B2B with Amrabat sitting. Hopefully McTominay and Garnacho away from the starting XI.

Could be a historical match today in that a loss will definitely get a sack for EtH and set the record of the worst United first division start in 70-odd years.

Ok I have been negative enough. Let's smash these guys and get to a positive goal difference in the league table.

    Know The Opposition

Fulham Football Club (also known as The Cottagers or The Whites), is a professional association football club based in Fulham, West London, England. Fulham were formed in 1879 as Fulham St Andrew's Church Sunday School F.C., founded by worshipers (mostly adept at cricket) at the Church of England on Star Road, West Kensington (St Andrew's, Fulham Fields). Fulham's mother church still stands today with a plaque commemorating the team's foundation. They won the West London Amateur Cup in 1887 and, having shortened the name from Fulham Excelsior to its present form in 1888, they then won the West London League in 1893 at the first attempt.

Fulham started playing at their current ground at Craven Cottage in 1896, their first game against now defunct rivals Minerva. Fulham are one of the oldest established clubs in southern England currently playing professional football, though there are many non-league sides like Kent side Cray Wanderers who are several decades older. The club gained professional status on 12 December 1898, the same year that they were admitted into the Southern League's Second Division. They were the second club from London to turn professional, following Arsenal, then named Royal Arsenal 1891.

After suffering relegation to The Championship in 2013, Fulham have been on a road to recovery and were promoted to the Premier League on 26 May 2018, by winning 1–0 in the 2018 EFL Championship play-off Final against Aston Villa. Fulham fans consider their main rivals to be Chelsea, followed by Queens Park Rangers. They also have rivalries with other London clubs, including Brentford and Crystal Palace.

I saw somewhere that Casemiro will be out for a couple weeks?

Anyway glad to have Shaw back. Hope he can start soon we really miss him.

This quote should be posted on the dressing room door at United (and maybe on one or two of the players...)

"Brian Clough's advice to me before most games was: 'You get it, you pass it to another player in a red shirt'. That's really all I've tried to do at Forest and United — pass and move — and I've made a career out of it."

    Roy Keane.

We don't have a player in the squad who can pass as well as Keane could, let alone show as much determination to win games.

On the other hand a win makes ETH the quickest any United manager has gotten to 50 wins in history

We barely scraped past Sheffield who’ve had the worst ever start to a PL season of any team.

    This won’t be pretty.

But we must insist on sticking with a failing manager because as so many fans on here so succinctly put it “who do we bring in to replace him?” Always a good reason for accepting abject failure.
How many fans? Have you done a survey?

Oddly I think we'll do quite well today.

    Maybe that's today

I think you might struggle in this one.
You could have saved a few minutes there and just said this.
Having just drawn with them 1-1 at the Amex, I can say Fulham are a nightmare to play against. Low block, constant time wasting and feigning injury, breaking up the game by hook or by crook. Rotational fouling is off the charts. At one stage in the second half, they had five players go down “injured” in 18 minutes. They should’ve had a clear red card, and naturally the same player gets the equaliser.

In short, your players will need to be very calm and not get wound up like they have done recently (Hannibal was very lucky to stay on the pitch in midweek, for example). I think you might struggle in this one.
Brighton and us are two very different teams. You have a team that works together and have good ideas how to move the ball within the team.
We couldn`t string 3 passes together even without opponents, nevermind a decent prem side like Fulham. Fulham will see no need to resort to dirty tactics against us. More likely to come from us when our players gets frustrated at how easy they get to our penalty box all the time.

Seasons we compete in the Europa League really skew all the stats for players and managers because of the sheer number of games and the quality of the opposition.

Throw in the very favourable domestic cup fixtures last season and it's not hard to see why we picked up a good number of wins without ever really looking convincing in the league.

I watch the games on virgintvgo, via the PC and since a recent upgrade, live football on TNT has been choppy and hard to watch, so if there is also one of their regular droaners on the commentary team too, I won't be watching. Even if United win, it'll be little relief from the overall spectacle.
