After our shambolic last appearance there we really need to get our act together tonight.

Klopp has done really well this season and has done what I think we all expected from Jose when he was announced. While my expectations has been lowered by the sad reality, Klopp has his team and fans flying high. I admit - I envy them.

Don't know what's going to happen but us winning is the outcome of this game which I least expect.

I'm just watching it on TV, but we're an hour ahead of you here, time zone wise, and because of fecking train driver strike I have to get up at unholy hours (04:30) to drive to work (not trains running).

So best case is I have to struggle to stay awake to just watch the game, and then get up again just four hours later or so. Now add a loss to that, against you guys no less, and it's not looking good for neither my co-workers or my spouse tomorrow.
    That's not good mate.

I was actually talking about pissed up idiots who have been on the sauce all day spoiling a wonderful game with stupid actions or inappropriate singing.

If your going lads, police the guys round you.

Win lose or draw I would just be happy both clubs come out of it with reputations intact.

Deflected via balloon would be better
The referee lives in Greater manchester, so he supports us(As per Pool fans). Liverpool can claim conspiracy for next 7 years, claiming different camera angles and shots proving referee kicked the ball in the net while doing what they do best in the league =Nothing!
I hope the referee does score and then F.a.put out a statement saying "hahahaha, we like to see liverpool tears. PS-fergie is our lord and saviour, god save fergie".

Yeah, absolutely. It's strange to put such a high risk game at a time like this. I imagine a bunch of idiots, on both sides, will have taken the day off work to drink up to the courage to make some trouble.

Hopefully there won't be any "scenes", so to speak. The football should be enough!

Quite nervous for this one. If we can somehow win it things will look quite bright again.

Losing this and maybe also on Sunday would make me feel very uncomfortable.

I don't think most pool fans think he's a ringer. It's a silly appointment by the Prem but it is what it is. It just puts more pressure on the guy in an already high pressure game.

As for him scoring a goal...
Well, if Utd are relying on the ref to score then that's good for us I guess.

Didn't this guy throw a tantrum after the Saints refused to release him or something.

    What's he on about?

As if a player playing for Southampton would refuse to join United a bigger and global team with a huge pay rise to follow.

Who is he trying to fool
Shearer, Letis. Steven Gerrard, he wouldn't be the first to turn down the bright lights of old trafford. Some of you do think your gods gift to football don't you. Maybe he actually got out of bed and enjoyed his job and was comfortable with that. Maybe, just maybe he wasn't a big fan of United for whatever reason.

Can't see nothing but a defeat but I hope I'm proven wrong.
I can see their pace and movement out doing our regular brain fart victim Smalling and I could see Liverpool getting yet another penalty and possibly a sending off for us. Really hoping Shaw is fit as his pace could be vital and I also hope Rooney and Fellaini are nowhere near the starting line up. I would take a point right now.

    ---------De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Shaw
    -----Herrera Pogba
    --Rashford Mata Martial
    ---------Zlatan

It's a perfectly fine appointment. If they appointed a ref from Birkenhead I wouldn't kick up a fuss, he's clearly not going to be a United fan as they FA will know that. More likely he supports Oldham, Bury, Stockport or the like and that makes him more likely to have a grudge against United.

Hackett should have kept his mouth shut, he's just made it ten times harder.

I wish Sky would drop this 'Red Monday' nonsense...a game of this magnitude doesn't need a WWE style tagline....unless its a play on words from GoT, in that case then they have it spot on as there will be bloodshed ;)

So now it's the ref and john O'shea scoring goals.

You do know he don't play for you anymore, right? :D

    Anyways, enjoy the game :)

Weirdly had a dream about this match. I never ever have dreams about football matches but this was vivid:

    - Mata scored the opener.
    - Mata won a penalty (For some reason he took it and not Ibrahimovic) and it was saved.
    - Liverpool equalised.
    - Eric Bailly had a gaping header narrowly missed in the last second.

    1-1

Absolutely no idea why I had such a detailed dream

    Shaken, and very stirred......
It's so annoying to be so pessimistic, but I suppose it's not surprising after the last three years. I reckon the first 20 minutes will be critical. I can see Liverpool being all over us - if they score during that time, then I think it will be massively difficult.

But hey, it's football, there's always hope....

Big game, wish we score in the 100th minute via Pogba's hand whilst he's doing the Dab 2 yards out from goal and about 4 yards offside.

Interesting to see a lot going with Herrera/Pogba/Mata in midfield as id see that getting overrun. Personally think Fellaini or Schneiderlin will start. We need to rough them up in the middle and will need the protection.

keep it close, to the 60th minute or so and I think we have a chance. The high press of Liverpool - hoping they tire a bit. At least with their possible lack of height, means Herrera looking good to start again ahead of Fellaini. Need a better tempo to take on 'Pool. We slow it down they'll be ontop of us in a flash.

We need a lively midfield I feel, Fellaini handy against height and balls in the air. 'Pool play it on the deck and are lively. Not a game for him today, Herrera covers more ground.

:Edit: Also as I mentioned, we need a quicker tempo with their pressing, they'll be on Fellaini's sideways and slow passing like a rash. Get him on late to slow the game down if we are in a position to do so.

Not worried. Form counts for little in this fixture. Could obviously go either way, but they've got every reason to be as fearful of us anyway. I just hope we don't set out just to contain, lose a goal and then be forced to chase the game. Go for the jugular I say.

Have a bad feeling Fellaini will start this one, too. He'll probably have a decent match, individually, because he often does well in these games, but the team is still worse off in my opinion.

I'm probably in the minority but I'm actually glad it's on tonight rather than a Sat/Sun game. Kick off at 8, playing under the floodlights, being the only PL game on today; it just makes it feel like a special game, which it is.

I fully expect Mourinho to use all the anti-football measures in his arsenal to disrupt the flow of the game and keep the clock ticking. Lots of diving, faking injury on the floor, every set piece taking an absolute age - Might be worth putting money on DDG getting a yellow card for stalling.

100th min? Anticipating a lot serious injuries then are we?
Yeah of course with Young doing all the diving and acting, hence +10 minutes and Fruitinho and Milnerino sent off with straight reds. That'd be a joy to watch. Juanfield would probably explode with some Ghostbusters type of goo effect.

Everyone has tried to put me on a downer for the game tonight. Am i the only one who thinks we are going to do them one? I just think our style counters Liverpool and if the lads play to their potential. We should have this 3-1. Lets get positive people!!!

Same here. I'm just no worried about this game. I'm well aware about our potential and we've got better players and if they turn up then it'll be a joy to watch.
