I was still expecting to see Ashley Young in the line-up.

Get out with common sense, this is a match day thread
Haha, I dont understand people sometimes. Yes, no two games are the same, and we have slightly different personnel from the game at Old Trafford, but we're the only team to have taken points off Liverpool this season in the league, and it came from playing the system Ole has possibly gone with again today.

Terrible line up and no one on the bench... will be an interesting 90 minutes against the best team in the world right now. It could get messy.

    Bold selection

A draw or victory and OGS will be a hailed as a genius.

A defeat, and I happen to think we might get hammered, and he's a dickhead.

    Let's see what happens.
Expecting us to win without Pogba and Rashford amd criticizing Ole if we lose would be foolish. Liverpool with their luck would be hard to beat.

We could literally have lined up 235 and the same posters would be calling it naive and suicide. All part of the circus

Do Liverpool ever have less than their best XI available? Can't remember the last time they had key players out.

Mata and Greenwood can certainly work something in the later stages of the game if Tony and James keep their back 2 busy and tire them down. Mason only needs one chance and Mata is probably the most clinical finisner in our squad behind Mason. Also no Fabinho is a bonus as Martial should have more space to pick the ball up from deep and turn.

    Think positive my friend.

Confirmed Starting XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Williams; Matic, Fred, Andreas; James, Martial.

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Jones, Dalot, Mata, Lingard, Greenwood.
That's far worse than I even imagined.

Salah missed the last game against us. I think that is the last time one of the 6-7 most important players was out.

This is going to be one of those games where we concede 2 or 3 early and the games as a contest is over 25 minutes in.

5 at the back worked in the first game for about 15 minutes before they figured us out. No doubt Klopp could see this coming and I expect Liverpool to be ready for it.

Lets hope we can put a shift in and grind out a result but I see zero creativity.
Apart from us, the two other teams that should have taken points off Liverpool played with a 352. Those two teams were Sheff Utd and Wolves.

We obviously havent got the luxury to put our strongest team like they have so we'll see what happens.

The only thing that I can think of is that Shaw is LCB to cover for Williams because Ole thinks that Salah's pace will be a mismatch for Williams, whereas, on the right, Wan-Bissaka is more than capable of matching Mane in that respect.

Not bad 10 out of 11 - didnt expect shaw to play. Looks a defensive line up which is needed against Liverpool at Anfield without Rashford Pogba and McT ... Id take a point all day long but anticipate a Liverpool win 2-0

It makes sense to have James in a very pragmatic defensive counter-attacking lineup, I know, but I can't help but feel Greenwood's form deserves the right to start this game. But hey.
