Need to rotate anyway and Antony & Garnacho look nackered after playing every game recently so considering we are expecting a loss we may as well give them a rest, I'd mix it up and go with:

    Bayindir
    AWB Varane Evans Reguilon
    Mainoo Amrabat
    Pellistri Hannibal Rashford
    Martial

Assuming Rashford & Martial are back

Martial should never start another game for United.

I don't disagree but Hojlund clearly can't play 2 games a week and Hugill will never be of the required standard so what do you do?
play with 10! martial is about as usual as my granny - and she died when I was eight

After playing the game with nothing to lose yesterday, like a bunch of losers, I fear what Liverpool are capable of doing against players who feel sorry for themselves.

Whether or not they’re good enough, and of course they’ve taken their part in some hammerings, missing our two best players with a bit of personality really sets the tone for the embarrassment which is coming.

If sub-par players like McTominay, Evans, Dalot and co can keep Liverpool at bay and keep it respectable then I’ll be delighted, but I can’t see it being much different to the embarrassment served last year.

I don’t think it’ll be career defining for the manager, and I think we’ve all established that under his leadership the squad has arguably become worse irrespective of the premium spend. It’s not a good time to be associated with United, morale is down and currently it seems to resonate with everything we’re seeing from Ten Hag and the players.

I’m exhausted after last night. It was a chore to stand there and watch us. I’m considering giving the game a miss on Sunday and not letting it ruin the weekend, which is an absolutely unprecedented position which I’ve not found myself in many times before.

Probably the end of Ten Hag, should be gone before if there is any sense. Going with a team low of confidence, struggling with injuries and a compleatly inept manager at the helm. What could possibly go wrong.

Realistically we should sit deep, use Hojlund as a target man to beat the press and try and use pace out wide to get behind there high line. But we won't we will play ten hag no control hoof ball with no midfield and wingers who refuse to run behind and probably get compleatly taken apart doing it. Can't wait.

as a matter of interest, which "two best players" are you talking about? You surely don't mean Anthony (I'm out for a stroll) Matrial and Marcus (I've forgotten what that round thing is) Rashford...

the only problem I see is: who would replace ETH right now? I mean are owners are so thick they might ask Fat Sam

What a complete waste of everyone's time this game will be. Just give Liverpool the three points and let us go about our day.

Glimmer of hope, Klopp will probably look to rest players after an hour or so in the run-up to the Christmas period.

Quick get Ole on the phone!

Seriously though anyone would probably better than ETH and his chance vacuum football. I personally would get Potter in right now on an 18 month contract. PL proven, progressive possession based high pressing philosophy worked absolute wonders with Brighton. Time at Chelsea was poor but they haven't been any better since he left under anyone else despite even more spending. And most importantly should be available for immediate start.

Definetley not Conte and definetley not an interim posturing for DOF/consultancy role.

    Casemiro and Martinez.

That’s not to say they make any kind of difference in this fixture…but purely from a personality perspective they are two characters we will always be worse off without, even if at least one of them is clearly on a downward trajectory.

Martial and Rashford? One of them is a part timer with the engine of an Austin Metro, the other one is a bi-seasonal performer.

I like the traditional tactic, it’s just a shame we don’t have a single player capable of this.

Even if Rashford was fit, what we’ve seen this season is once he has his burst away, he is nearly always outfought by the marauding defender.

It’s so depressing watching us try to do the absolute basics and just fail.

Last season was obviously a freak result, they scored every chance they had almost, wont be this bad this time.
But, as been said, if they score they can call it a day and just cruise and save energy, i can´t see us reach their box.

Last season we were favourites and went there off the back of 1 defeat in 11 league matches and having just knocked Barcelona out of Europe. How times change!

Assuming no good news on the injury front...

    GK - Onana
    RB - AWB
    LB - Regulion
    CB - Dalot
    CB - Varane
    MC - Mainoo
    MC - Amrabat
    AMC - Mejbri
    AMR - Antony
    AML - Garnacho
    ST - Hojlund

I'd try Dalot at CB, has a bit of pace, good in the air, decent on the ball for a defender. Has to be better than starting a 35yo Evans against Salah and Nunez

It'd be a bit harsh to have Bayindir ship 10 goals on his debut for the club.

We need to go full on park the bus here, a low margin loss would be significant progress.

I'd say just play every single defender we have available but that's probably literally 5 defenders.

If McTominay starts we deserve to get pummeled and Ten Hag should get sacked on the spot. Whatever ability he has as a coach is irrelevant if he doesn't understand that we absolutely cannot afford another complete embarassment at Anfield, and we should not be handing the scousers another hilarious win to laugh about for the next 50 years.

I was hoping you were going to mention Cas and Licha - totally agree. I'd like to see how things worked if Cas and Mainoo were the holding pair/fulcrum/pivot

It's either going to be 1 nil or something ridiculous like 11 nil to them.

Yeah, mindboggling. Would be interesting to know what Erik tried to do in the summer.

Hope we give ETH an appropriate send off with a respectable defeat rather than a walloping. Because this, I feel, will be his last game…unless he pulls a draw or victory out of the bag, which is highly unlikely.
