I don't understand those that won't watch because it looks inevitable we'll get humped. Surely supporting the club means supporting the club, good times and the bad times.

I think it'll be a walk in the park for Liverpool, but I'll still watch, sometimes big upsets happen. I'm hoping for one this weekend.

It will be 4/5 -0 easily. We're bang out of form, low on confidence, injuries, cant score, can't defend.

Liverpool on the othe hand are going for the title so will be ruthless.

Sure, but at some point how many thrashings can a fan take?

As many as dished out. At the end of the day, anyone can do what they want, if people don't want to watch because we're probably going to get beat, that's up to them. I personally don't understand it, I think you actually rob yourself from great moments when the team surprises everyone by coming away with an unlikely win. Unfortunately you take a few bloody lips before you get those moments.

I don't think it'll be the battering everyone expects. Last seasons result was a fluke. Think we'll comfortably lose 2-0

I'm seriously considering a bet on a heavy defeat. Liverpool are in form, they are always hungry to beat us at Anfield and will be spurred on by their fans. Meanwhile we are both crap and extremely mentally fragile. I'm dreading it.

Any word on if Shaw was injured? Lineup wise I'm hoping we use:
    Onana
    Dalot Varane Evans Shaw
    McTominay Amrabat
    Antony Donny? Rashford
    Martial

Personally I'd just not play Mainoo, Hojlund, Garnacho, Hannibal... Don't want these youngsters on the pitch for this and be subject to abuse afterwards. Leave that to the more experienced guys.

Liverpool aren’t battering anyone though. It’s one jammy win after another. They will still batter us here though for the other reasons you stated.

    I would go with
    Defense 4
    Hannibal, mainoo, armabat
    Antony Hojlund Garnacho

Don't feel guilty about betting against United.

If these twats are going to make us miserable by not putting the effort in then the least we can do is profit from it.

Liverpool to win by 2 or more is almost evens. Free money.

You don't consider a 4-0 win against LASK Linz a battering :smirk: ?

But you are right about their league results, of course. It's more that United are just so atrocious right now, that I just can't see us not getting hammered here. Already now I can picture the camera zooming in on ETH's concerned, frowny face after Salah completes his first-half hattrick.

I wonder if there are any Liverpool supporters in a weird way hope we win on Sunday and keep ETH at the club longer?

Liverpool will wipe the floor with us on Sunday. I don’t see any way in which we can win without a proper smash and grab effort - which none of these players look capable of at this moment.

if We can get to Sunday night not having the absolute piss ripped out of us and no more injuries, then do we think that’s acceptable? Starting to feel the standard is that low right now.

Will our players be giving them a guard of honor out on the pitch on Sunday and looking for their players autographs.

You would think this is a non league club playing a premier league club with all the talk about this match .

Never has one side in the history of this rivalry cowered so much at the thought of playing the other , utterly shameful and embarrassing what has become of this club.

Need to rotate anyway and Antony & Garnacho look nackered after playing every game recently so considering we are expecting a loss we may as well give them a rest, I'd mix it up and go with:

    Bayindir
    AWB Varane Evans Reguilon
    Mainoo Amrabat
    Pellistri Hannibal Rashford
    Martial

Assuming Rashford & Martial are back
Martial should be banished from Carrington.

Of course there are. Those geniuses were hoping that Ole would win a league so we'll keep him longer.

As bad as it will be having to watch it on TV, let's have a moment of silence for those who have paid good money to go and watch in the stands to probably walk out at half time. :(

Make sure we don't lose by more than 3 goals. That's considered as a win.

We can’t even park the bus anymore, that’s been our default in these type of games for years but now we just turn up and get brushed aside. Expecting to lose by at least 3.

After this game, I wonder when we'll finally return to positive goal difference. March? April?

with no bruno there is literally zero reason to not play mainoo now. Mainoo and amrabat to play deeper and hopefully provide stability. 3rd midfielder to provide some attack. Fully expecting to not see mainoo and see the corpse of Donny or something before mainoo.

I get the joy of watching this on the footy lads Christmas drinks day out with several Liverpool fans. Going to be so shit. We're going to get battered.

    4-0 is my prediction.

Liverpool will have Goal difference on their minds. Never a better chance to fill your boots than against the prime snowflakes of Manchester United.

I need to find a doomsday prepper to hide out for week.

Liverpool are not in top form at all. We were lucky against Fulham and Palace, losing both near to full time. Away to Sheffield Utd inbetween was 2-0 but again Utd had chances to make it a lot more interesting.

Away in Belgium tomorrow night, suspect Klopp will leave a lot of lads at home, top spot already secured and a tight turnaround for Sunday.

Overall Liverpool have been bit erratic in performances, brilliant in some games and in others the front line in particular hasn't been fully firing, bit disjointed.

New 7000 seats open for the first time will add to already a guaranteed great home atmosphere. United need to remove all emotion, sit in two banks and soak up pressure, Liverpool have been giving up a lot of chances on the counter. If United come out all guns blazing going forward, that'll suit Liverpool and could be 4 or 5 yep. Sit in and could easily be tight till late on and then who knows.

I envisage a comfortable 2-0 for them. Can't see it being messy this year. If they do us in for 4+ goals this time he's totally done.

Forgot they were playing tomorrow, 2 days extra rest could potentially make an impact on the outcome.
    Might be closer than expected.

Can't tell you how much I want a lumpy, undeserved smash and grab 1-0.

I'm not a betting man but first time in my life I'm considering backing a heavy loss for Man Utd with the bookies, might as well profit from this misery. 7-0 Liverpool is 150/1...

We are already qualified as group winners and it's a one-hour flight to Brussels, not exactly Eastern Europe or anything like that. I doubt there'll be more than 4-5 players starting tomorrow who will start the Utd game.

What on earth will our team look like for this ?

Could potentially be as bad as the below:

    --------------------Onana----------------
    AWB-------Varane-----Evans-----Dalot
    ----------Amrabat-----Mainoo---------
    Anthony-----Mctominay------Garnacho
    --------------------Hojlund-----------------

Bench - Keeper, Reguilon, Rashford, Martial, Pellistri, kids

Absolute state of that for a club this size with the money spent.
