Fantastic second half but it's concerning that we always have one really poor half in every match. Still it shows great character to come back from 2 down against the best team in the country and put 3 past them on their own turf. At least the players are still fighting and playing for the manager.

We all know that first half was catastrophic, we could have been 5-0 down at half time, but? what we saw second half I don’t know if Jose said something he must have he defiantly did, or Fergie also came into that dressing room also and both Jose and Fergie give that team the biggest ass kicking of a lifetime, because what ever was said at half time was one of the most monumental moments of the clubs history in a very long time, because we showed character, bottle and that old United like the Phoenix rising from the ashes that they will not lie down and let the scum lift the title, this game was the personified United will never die, that second half felt like the old united resurrected

We also showed the world we have something in us that we can play the game in a progressive thrilling attacking manner, and this game was vital to build on for next season, and these kind of results attracts quality players that the squad does have that ability to hurt sides, and this was in the biggest stage of the PL.

FANTASTIC BOYS enjoy these moments, because they don’t come around like this. Jose defiantly has pulled me more towards his side after what he done in the Sevilla games, because that’s what we want from Jose, inspiring his team, building character, showing bottle, and something that we can get this club winning and the squads building the winning mentality. A big big 2 Years ahead for this club

I am not convinced really. I do think Smalling is underappreciated. Sure he makes mistakes, but he is the only defender with a real presence.
Even if we take attacking side of things, sure that is not the most pertinent skill for a defender, but a CB that can score is almost a necessity for a top team. And it's not about today, but looking back 2-3 years, Smalling is the only defender here who scores or being a real threat.
And as his strictly defensive showings go, sure he does make blunders, he is not quick. But he also does have really impressive games. Vitally his injury record is by far superior to Bailly, Jones. He is also not a drama queen, so being a sub in some games seems to have zero effect on him.
What do we have. Is Smalling a definite starter? I don't know, but that is a "maybe" at least. Is he a player United must keep and use as a part of squad? I mean a sort of closer reserve, a player who is not going to start every game, but who gets around 20-30 games a season. The answer for me is a yes. And i don't think United can find anyone much better.
I don’t think you can describe Smalling as having presence. For me that’s the issue with him and all of our CBs, none of them are the real ‘top top’ level. I actually quite like them all, Bailey in particular. But none are at the level of Vidic, Rio, Stam, Pally or Bruce. For me that’s been the one area of the pitch where we have failed to navigate well post Fergie. A real dominant leader back there could be transformational.

I'm a simple guy - I come to work and to start the day in a good mood, I just watch the derby highlights one more time.
