Manchester City Football Club (nicknamed City, The Citizens, and The Sky Blues), are a professional football club based in Manchester, England. City were founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton), before being renamed as Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887, and finally Manchester City in 1894 - and the origins can be traced back to members of St. Mark's Church of England, West Gorton — who founded the football club that would become known as Manchester City, for largely humanitarian purposes. Two church wardens sought to curb local gang violence and alcoholism by instituting new activities for local men, whilst high unemployment plagued East Manchester, specifically Gorton. All men were welcome to join, regardless of religion.

The team's first recorded match occurred on 13 November 1880, and City gained their first honors by winning the Second Division in 1899 — with it came promotion to the highest level in English football, the First Division. In the seasons following the FA Cup triumph of 1904, the club was dogged by allegations of financial irregularities, culminating in the suspension of seventeen players in 1904, including captain Billy Meredith, who subsequently moved across town to Manchester United. Almost half a century later later, a City team inspired by a tactical system known as the Revie Plan reached consecutive FA Cup finals again, in 1955 and 1956; just as in the 1930s, they lost the first one, to Newcastle United, and won the second. The club continued to challenge for honors throughout the 1970s, finishing one point behind the league champions on two occasions and reaching the final of the 1974 League Cup.

Prior to the takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, the club had enjoyed moderate levels of success through their history — however, since the start of the current decade, City have been buoyed by the signings of Sergio Agüero, Yaya Touré, David Silva, Vincent Kompany — and have emerged as perpetual title contenders Vincent Kompany winning the league 5 times in 9 years and repeatedly finishing in the Top 3. City play their homes games at the Etihad Stadium, and their biggest rivals are neighbors and opponents for the game, Manchester United.

I just can't see us going there and getting anything.

3-0 City, honestly would take that and just try to win out in the other fixtures.
    Rest CR7 and Bruno.

They won't have to play high gear football.

2:0 after some relaxing game from them, full of correct passing & positioning.

Park the bus Ralf. Looking forward to this actually because this is Ralf's first big premier league game (i think) and I want to see how he does in the big games. I'm hopeful that we might pull off a surprise.

You know what the worst thing is about this game? There is nothing we can do to influence the outcome. No formation we can try, no line up. They can score whatever number of goals they desire, and we can’t do anything about it. They can score one and save energy for the next game or they can utterly demolish us. All we can do is hope Guardiola lets us off easy, like in the first game this season. Ralf better rest key players for games that matter.

    3:0 after the first half.

To make matters worse, if we get any type of result, it ultimately will benefit Liverpool for the title race.

Easy win for City. We can't rely on games like this for points. We will be comprehensively outplayed here and at Anfield two weeks later - we need to keep the scores down and not let it effect confidence too much for the Spurs and Atletico games in between or the Leicester and Everton games immediately afterwards.

We'll now need wins against Spurs, Arsenal, Leicester and Everton to stand a chance of clawing ourselves back in to the fourth place picture.

Will probably draw or win this one, causing much gnashing as it lets Liverpool back in.
Then we follow it up by being battered at Anfield.

This one is as easily predictable as the Liverpool match was.

They are gonna have us looking absolutely clueless. I cringe at the thought of Maguire starting this one.

Gonna say 3-0 to City as of now.

I could see us sneaking a win or a draw, rolling over like bitches at Anfield and fecking a load of other matches up before the end of the season so that Liverpool win the title and we're grateful for an EL spot. This season has been like being constantly kicked in the bollocks while barefoot on a pile of Lego.

City haven’t exactly been on top form recently. Could be a good time to play them.

We've been creating chances of late and City will concede chances because of their style of play. However, we need to take those chances, otherwise, we'll lose, because im pretty sure they'll score.

So City haven't been that great in their last 2 Premier League games. I'd say a good performance from us can definitely beat them. Come on, we had their number under Ole

Fortunately city don’t look great at the moment, they’ll still win and fairly comfortably, but I don’t see it being an absolute walk over.

If we win, great for our dying top 4 hopes.

If we lose, well at least it harms Liverpool's title challenge.

But we're so fecking useless that we will manage to get a draw here, which will be of no use to us but hand Liverpool a massive boost for the title run.

They're having a bit of a rough patch but form goes out of the window on derby day. I can't see us winning but we might nick a draw. I just don't want to see the dippers catch up with us and get their 20th title. I suppose it's bound to happen at some point though.

It shouldn’t be too bad, they don’t need the goal differential so we won’t need to worry about 7 or 8 going in. I think they’ll settle for 4-0 and then rest their key men.

Our forwards couldn’t hit a cow’s ass with a banjo vs. Watford, we won’t even get to see the cow in this one.

    Our defence has tightened up.
The problem is our forwards have forgotten how to score.
Think it will probably will be a draw or a 1-0 either way.
