    There's only one United!
First of all - it's not only about today, but I have seen a lot worse teams threaten City a lot more than we did today. And what is most concerning is that Bruno, Casemiro and Mainoo are good enough players to at least match City - but despite this, we get overrun over and over again. So clearly 1 or 2 of those players have to go - because they are not good enough at this level. Fulham played us off the park last match - with several of their best players missing. It's about having a style of play - you know, the stuff we still haven't got after 18 months.

Second - you don't think ETH is a bit to blame for the team we have today ? He spent £50 million to sign a keeper who isn't better than what we had. He spent £80 million on a player who is so bad that he doesn't dare to use him. He spent £60 million on a midfielder who already is too slow to be a central midfielder in the P.L - and then he spent £60 million on a midfielder who has no idea how to use - when he is fit.

And if this was an isolated incident - I could forgive for him for a game like this - but we look clueless in every game.
I agree with a number of your comments but we were talking about today's game not the whole season and the players he bought.
Regarding the players he got at all costs i certainly agree with you and it's completely his fault wanting Antony, Onana and Mount - they seem to be bad buys.

Unfortunately this season has been a constant litany of injuries and Ten Hag could never field his best team so at least i give him that.

Today the team couldn't do more than it did (with those players) but every week we are also hit by VAR and referees by incidents which could change the course of the game and ultimately the final score.

In this game we didn't look clueless as our players obeyed the instructions and helped each other defend extremely well especially in the first half and they can play well on the counter but then this is City we're talking about (with their 115 FFP accusations) and you just can't play City by attacking them as they'll massacre you.

Amrabat and Casemiro largely culpable for City's last two goals. Why does this club persist in signing players that are either too old, too slow, or both?
We did feck all for 90 minutes. 26% possession, but.....if only we were perfect in defence for the entire match.. Damn you bad luck. When will we get a break?

Blame ETH. It's his team, his tactics, his training. This is what he's been building for nearly two years.

Two things can be true at once. Any United fan praising this sportwashing house of cards can feck off as far as I'm concerned.
Precisely, I'm getting a bit tired of the outright blinkered dismissal of anything they do. Quite clearly, we could have done all they've done well with none of the unsavoury stuff. Gut-wrenching as it may be we have to own up/acknowledge that.

Well I'm not sure about that. We've matched them in official transfer fees while neglecting the infrastructure and the footballing structure. Whereas they've put another billion in. Obviously, we should be in a much better position given what we've spent but I still refuse to give them any credit because none of their spending was legal.

If we had a world class striker, we would have been up 2-0 that chance rashford had where he headed it down rather than in front of him was a disgrace.

They worked their asses off, what are you talking about?
People who know something about the club like yourself and @DomesticTadpole sound like voices of sanity in the wilderness. Match day thread is toxic. Very little to do with United.
Exactly mate. A lot would've been fearing 5 or 6 goals today and are fuming they've scored 2 late goals to win 3-1.
She’s right, but she’s not your mate, mate. :)

I'm not exactly sure what some people realistically wanted. We got smashed, but of course we did, it could have been worse.

Is the implication here a girl can't be called mate?

I thought you might not know. Sounded like you didn’t
To be fair, it's not something I even think about when replying to someone. I barely look at a person's username, let alone worry about their gender. I think I do know dt is a lady but thanks for the subtle heads up.

There was a lot of noise at the start of season regarding ETH refusal to rotate last season, leading to injuries, then an overly strenuous pre-season and then too tough training, even though we had a crazy schedule. Some like always blame the players, but many have come from good teams like RM or Inter and are nearly all seasoned internationals. So just maybe they had a point. The latest Hojlund injury ETH said due to 'high intensity training'. I assume he have some decent coaches and medical staff, but we seem to be suffering a lot.

We were never going to beat City given the injuries and climate at the club. Perhaps next season we'll have a full strength team and some bloody tactics that don't have passing the ball backwards.
