Wonder goal aside, horrible.

Training session for City.

I hope Foden's haircut will eventually be made illegal, as it should be.

Our lack of quality compared to City is downright embarrassing. We are years away from competing.

Paid the price for wasted chances in the first half:

  • Garnacho should have squared to Rashford after 5mins
  • Rashford should have controlled his big chance after the goal, you’d have favoured him in a 1-on-1
  • Rashford at the far post after McT missed the ball. He could either have shot, or squared to Bruno who was unmarked on the penalty spot

The difference was players quality and managers quality, especially the changes happening when substitutes came on. Ten Hag was left in the dust by Pep's moves.

Red Card for Casemiro!
We knew we were going to lose, which in itself is a telling sign, but the manner of the defeat confirms that EtH is just not the right manager for us.

We've got braindead players in Antony and Amrabat that we bring on, they have a world class starting 11 and bench.

I don't understand how we can have so many men behind the ball and yet put no pressure on the City players. We gave them 5-10 yards all game. Suicidal stuff against this team.

We played, looked and tried like a Championship team. Terrible from minute 1 onwards.

Pathetic. Cowardly football. League 1 vs Premier League level.

Help yourself to 30 shots City, we'll have 2.

At least that's my least favourite game out of the way. Season can't end soon enough.

Even after our goal you knew we would lose. Dominated in every aspect.

Too many players are not up to standard, hopefully ineos can overhaul football operations, get a dominant style of play with competent coaches.

We should be at 70% possession and in games like this going toe to toe, we belong at the top and have the resources to do so, pathetic by the players and club.

Let’s be honest before the game the question was how were we going to lose. There was no doubt we were going to lose this game even when we were up.

We’re shite but as far as losses go it wasn’t a hammering so I guess that’s progress for ETH and this team.

I'm firmly in the ETH out camp, but even I can see that went about as well as could be expected...some of yous losing your minds are the same ones that expected us to be steamrollered 7-0

The difference in quality was staggering. Every single one of their defenders can play with the ball at their feet. Our defenders kept needlessly giving the ball away the whole game, inviting the pressure.

The insistence of constantly playing out through Onana is baffling. We just end up losing the ball. It would be much more effective kicking the ball up the pitch and challenging for the ball higher up the field, pushing their defensive line deeper.

The squad is barely good enough for mid table. Our position in the league flatters is to an extend. No cohesion, no fight, no real game plan, no quality and no purpose. Ten Hag is not the man to take us forward. The players don't believe in him, and I'm sure he's lost the support of the vast majority supporters.

3-1 loss feels like we got away lightly. I was thinking it would be 5 or 6 before the game.

Zero ambition.

So, it's really a moral victory?

Can't say I'm shocked. The difference in quality is very visible.

Boring, cowardly football from a boring, cowardly manager. I don't dispute that they're way better, but that was a training exercise for City and it's a good thing Haaland had an off day or the score would have been embarrassing.

About as comfortable a win as you could get. Made to look less so by having a wonder strike and defending like a lower league team away to a giant. The second we tried to move up the pitch they picked us off.

Overall, a good first half. We actually surprised them a bit with our start of the game.

However, they’re just a better team and a better-coached team. That was obvious.

Frustrating the opposition and hitting them on counters typically only works on teams that can actually score goals.
