Arsenal have 0 away points in 2018. Would be just like us to lose next Sunday. Make no mistake there is no excuse for not winning this game. Arsenal will play a tough EL game on Thursday. We have a whole week and a day to prepare for this game.

People think we won’t be up for it? Seriously?

Upmost respect for Wenger, but Mourinho will be sending us out to win. Should be a cracker

It'd be typical for us this season to slip up against a team without an away point all year given our great home record. It's probably Wenger's last time in a competitive game at Old Trafford, at least with Arsenal, so I wouldn't be surprised if he fields a strong side and wants a result. However, with this game sandwiched in-between the Atletico Madrid Europa League doubleheader, I'd imagine even the Arsenal fans would accept another away defeat if it meant them progressing to the final. Burnley only drawing at Stoke gives them a bit of a cushion too.

I don't see much reason to change the team at the moment, so I'd hope we try to stick with the same XI for the next two fixtures. If we beat Arsenal and Brighton, we'd go into our last two games with 2nd place basically already secured (unless Spurs or Liverpool got maximum points and we lost the final two games) and also have the 2nd best home and away record in the League. It would be nice to be able to relax in the final two games and see some of the younger lads given a go (and let Carrick captain the side for the final game).

Nothing about Arsenal worries me this season, particularly away from the Emirates. Add in the fact they have nothing riding on this or their other remaining league games, and that this comes in between two hugely significant matches for them, and we really should be doing the business.

Wenger's departure could act to unburden them, but I'm expecting a good performance and a win from us.

Surely we couldn't play them at a better time? They will surely still be in the game vs. Atletico when we play them, hence we're talking Elneny, Holding, Chambers et al - could/should be a very nice game for us.

    - Nearly all players are available
    - We had 8 days of rest, while Arsenal didn´t even had 3 full days
    - Their away form in 2018 is laughable

Therefore, everything else than a confident and clear win would be shameful.

I think shameful is a bit strong.
The season was over a few weeks ago, and you couldn't blame either team for having most of their focus on the cups.

    11 days of rest?
Do you mean from Saturday gone, to Sunday coming? 8 days surely?

Let's give Arsene the send off he deserves
    Alexis hat-trick!

    Farewell Wenger.
This would a very nice farewell to Wenger.
We need to give AFC such a hiding, that they remember it for the next few years.

If they play Miki (I noticed that he was missing from their line-up in their last match), put in a heavy tackle in the opening minutes on him and AFC will be playing with 10 men.
    I do hope he plays.

8 days is plenty of rest to spank Arsenal.
Our players need to turn up though, because against the lower sides, they tend not to bother and it usually goes pear shaped.

A resounding humiliation would just be perfect with goals from Sanchez, Lukaku, Pogba and Martial (just to remind them of who they're never going to get). Hopefully after a crushing defeat by Atletico too.

    Feck 'em!

Anything but a clear win against Arsenal would be shameful now? :houllier:

My bad, you´re right it´s 8 days. Still a lot more than Arsenal as they will be out on the pitch on Thursday 10pm.

The word is a bit strong, yes. But for the fans the season is anything but over. I want us to finish second, be ahead of Liverpool, Spurs. Ending the season with confidence and go into the summer break with a good feeling. So under all circumstances and at the end of the day, we should beat Arsenal at home, no matter what.

Hope so too. After all, he gave us RVP and Sanchez and then refused to sell us Vermaelan and Debuchy.
Helped us get rid of Welbeck, Silvestre and Mikhi as well. The guy is a legend.

Of course I agree, but a bit like last season when the Europa cup was a distraction games at end of season often lose intensity. We should be up for the Arsenal game though.

Hope Mourinho's farewell present to Wenger is the same as his 1000th game present from a few years ago.

Old Trafford needs to belt out 'Oh Robin Van Persie' for this game, basically from start to finish.
