    Id go with that
Yep, me too. Blind and Young on the bench in case we need to add stability.

If we win this game, we effectively 'make safe' the points gained against Spurs and Liverpool. That will give us space to potentially drop points to Chelsea, in the same way that winning our other remaining games after that (including Arsenal) would probably give us enough of a cushion to drop points against City.

If the rest of the team carry on as they have been, i'd even consider resting rooney and playing falcao on his own up top

Almost the same team, when I would add Di Maria for Young. Remember that Di Maria has been awful one or two games, but LVG still played him against Arsenal and he was good the first half. Young has been good at Anfield, but Di Maria is suited to the big games ahead of us. It would be nice to play him before City and Chelsea. I think that Sherwood will pose us a lot of problem during the game.

I’ve developed a theory this season that when we are playing teams that play football, that “open” spaces, that have a good mind against us, we are very good. But our possession game is not very suited against team that are defending deep like Sunderland and Newcastle recently (even if we won both). I mean, maybe our possession is suited when teams are pressing us, and we can’t kill them with movements and passes.

So I guess that it will be a tough game against a defensive Villa coming at home. But we absolutely need to beat them with style few days before City.

We'll get at least 2 injuries during the internationals... let's try guess who they'll be.

One will be Carrick I bet.

Not a terrible suggestion. We won against Liverpool despite Rooney not playing particularly well, after all.

This for me, except with Young in for Di Maria. I don't think he did enough to earn a start, and Young played well. I'd also rather see Rafael at RB but we all know that isn't going to happen.

feck sake, we've got ages to wait for this, hope the shitty international break doesn't halt our momentum. Last thing we need is a shitty performance against villa going into the two tough ones

Everytime an international break rolls around i am more angered by it than the time before. A qualifier against yet another seemingly hand picked team in lithuania and yet another game against italy which the fa seem to love us playing. Where are the friendlies against Germany?, spain?, holland?, brazil? Etc.

Its all a total waste of time. I hope everyone fakes injury to leave the england fold.

I'd be happy with that.Young could have a place in that team though on the left somewhere, in place of ADM or Blind. At last it seems our best eleven is becoming apparent.

would only swap jones for rojo. Everything else stays the same imo.

If we're are a couple goals up by the end of the first half let Di maria get some more time with this team. We've invested alot in him, freezing him out now is the wrong move. Young has earned his starting place but please don't ever sleep on what Di maria could do for us if he finds his end product.

With the form that we are on, plus an in form Di mazza on the wing and we could do some damage to most teams in Europe let alone the Prem.

Still think some of you are sleeping on that assist against Liverpool. Was a fecking beauty.

I hate international breaks so much, especially when the team has been playing so well in recent weeks.

Really hope we can avoid any injuries and pick up right where we left off. Getting 3 points against Villa is absolutely crucial.

Need our players to get through these internationals unscathed.

Also a tad nervous that we can gear ourselves up for the big games yet slip into a bit of complacency for the fixtures that are supposedly easier on paper.

We need to approach this in the same way as we did Tottenham and Liverpool. Go at it right from the off. Be relentless. I really hope our motivation stays the same.

Am so worried that we'll go into this game with the attitude of build into the game and be patient because it's Villa and we can turn it on if needed versus starting on the front foot like we did the last 2 games.

It's at home and if we get at them from the off, then should win this handily I think.

I think we can beat Villa and City at home and set up a massive game away against Chelsea. BELIEVE

Why make 4 changes to a winning team?
It's a better team. The key to these past 2 results has been the central midfield trio/4-3-3. I haven't changed that. Rafael will be keen to prove a point. Shaw is better defensively than Blind. Valencia hasn't been bombing forward like Blind. Rafael would do the bombing and Shaw with more defensive responsability. Di Maria won't defend as much as Young but he needs to find some confidence and what better game to do it in than AV at home. Jones has been decent but Rojo is the better player.

You clearly haven't been watching the games.

Blind's work down the left channel with Young and Fellaini has been a key factor as has Valencia's work behind Mata.

The only change in inclined to agree with is Rojo in for Jones.

Blind also reads the game very well, it's just his lack of pace that's a bit of a concern. But despite that, he's managed OK against the Liverpool and Spurs (Young helps in this respect).

Rojo for Jones is the only one I'd agree on as well, Di Maria/Young is close but Young and Blind seem to function well down the left side, and Di Maria isn't looking anywhere near the player he was at the start of the season, although he's still obviously world class because he seems to create a goalscoring opportunity every time he plays, it's just his sloppiness in possession that irritates me.

hopefully no injuries during these international week.

no point of starting shaw if he is going to get sub at halftime, let him play the last 20-30 minutes instead and build on from there. i know shaw is our future LB but blind has been brilliant there after all.

RVP back on the bench. maybe 30 minutes for him too.

Yes, i have been watching the games. The Spurs game twice. Yes, Blind has been excellent. Young consistent like all season, he's been my highest average rated player. Valencia has done the job. Can there be no rotation for the rest of the season then, even against AV at home? Is Rafael 100% out the door?

What's the benefit of rotation at a time we need to be gaining momentum and games are coming at a rate of one per week?

Ok, ok, ok. You're right. I have been advocating that we stick to the same line-up for the rest of the season myself, don't know why i wanted so many changes. Shaw doesn't deserve to play and Rafael is a goner. I just fear what will happen with Di Maria if he doesn't get games.. Rojo should play instead of Jones, not changing my mind on that.

I'm with you on Rojo for Jones for what it's worth.

As for Di Maria, if he's not up for the fight of getting his spot back he really isn't worth the money we paid. Time for him to earn his fee, wages and reputation.

It's in central midfield the majority of his goals/assists have come from so perhaps that's where he's fighting to take a place (not going to happen). He's looked better on the right than the left to me (Mata needs to play there). Yeah, he prob won't play. I just want him to settle in and be a success here.
