Full strength. Get the battering over with by the 60th minute to rest key players and bring in fresh kegs who need the workout.

Has to be full strength , would be criminal to drop any pts in this one when teams around us are dropping pts.

Agreed, full strength. Every PL game is big game. Whether you drop points against Bournemoth or Citeh don’t matter at this point. Smash them all!

I have never understood the obsession this place has with resting players for the sake of it. Most of the players have barely played much football in the past couple of months. Stop acting like the players are on the ropes.

Just because you guys double your heart rates just by the thought of lifting your fat arses off your beloved armchairs doesn't mean the same applies for professional footballers.

    Full fecking strength.
It;s more to avoid injury than resting

Anthony’s chance to shine and perhaps score a couple. Same could be said for Martial. We’re really lacking an affordable decent goal scorer - a poor man’s Haaland.

I hope we see VDB play a part. He has looked decent in his past 2 stints as a Sub. I like how ETH is trying to gradually integrate him into the team despite his horrendously poor United career thus far.
You definitely didn't see the Wolves game if you think VDB was decent

Can afford a couple of rotations here surely. Should have enough to get 3 points against these but we also need to be going all out for trophies, especially the fa so we need a strong team against Everton. Charlton’s the one we should be resting pretty much the starting 11, it’s helped us getting Charlton at home in the cup because it means we can rest properly before the big game against city.

And how many would they batter us by if we played a second string side as that poster suggested?
We're losing either way. Whether its 0-1 with a strong lineup or 0-6 with the second team, we need to play smart and think ahead.

I can't understand this mentality. Even if you lose, you have to maintain standards and it sends completely the wrong message if you throw the towel in before a game has even started. There's nothing smart about accepting a battering.

That's way off base, City will be favourites but United are capable of beating anyone on any given day.

City aren't infallible and United are a better team now than they were when they last played

I really do not know how some of these posters can watch a game of football and say a player was decent when they were bloody awful...half of the time I reckon it is their agent or a family relative.

Should be another three points here.

Hope we go full strength or at least close to it. We can rest players in the two cup games before Man City.
Well certainly against Charlton whereas need a mix of experience and fringe against Everton in the FA Cup

    Play the youngsters I reckon...

Rotate with what? You know what would happen.
Eth brings in Maguire, Lindelof, Elanga.
Caf spends 70 minutes moaning about how shite they are and aren't good enough. "Need to get the subs on"

I'd be resting them in this one and against Charlton and play them against Everton and then City
Weelll.......I don't think that's the way I'd want it. Maybe Casemiro or Varane, but not both. Bournemouth have taken quite a lot of points off top teams.

With Moore and Solanke up front for Bournemouth, perhaps this could be a suitable game for Maguire?

At this stage, the thought of playing without Casemiro is almost unbearable, but of course at some point we'll have to.

I think Martinez will be back for this. Whilst Shaw has been a great option, we do miss the simple forward passing between the lines that Martinez gives us.

    What's the latest on Dalot?

Last game vs Bournemouth we won at OT 5-2 in July 2020. I totally forgot about Greenwood over last year, but he was very good in that game, just imagine him in this ten Hag's side.

My guess is Eriksen is the only rested since Fred looked good against Forest, and Eriksen can always come on at halftime or after an hour. He’s also really the only player we ask to do a job he’s not quite physically up to, so he needs rest the most.

Ideally we get up 2-3 goals by halftime and can bring off Casemiro and Varane.

Moore should start up top since Lisandro or Shaw can be bullied, so wouldn’t be shocked to see Maguire. Every game Varane can be rested has to be tempting for Ten Hag and this would seem like one, though Solanke running at Maguire is potentially troublesome. We really need to sell Maguire this summer and buy someone who can both run and win a header.

Blast it, you're absolutely right. I could have sworn, but obviously I should have checked rather than trust vague recollection. Mea culpa!

Haha no worries. Probably a mix of being surprised how high up Bournemouth are, with getting mixed up with Fulham who have been going well.

We need to inject some freshness to our team vs Bournemouth, regardless of what games we have coming up. Varane, Eriksen, and Bruno could do with some rest, particularly the latter two who were below average against Wolves.

    AWB - Maguire - Martinez - Shaw
    ————Casmero—Fred
    —————Van De Beek
    Antony———————-Rashford
    ——————Martial

If there's one game we can take it easy in these coming days, it's Everton in the FA cup. Play the big boys here and hopefully sub in the squad players for the last 30 when it's all settled.
