Iraola is a coach to keep an eye on, he's got Bournemouth playing some good stuff. They press really well and this will be a tougher test than Chelsea IMO.

Maybe the best thing about our game against Chelsea was how well our GK and defenders played through the high press, pretty consistently throughout the entire match.

So my hope is that if we can repeat that, it will quickly deflate a really key part of Bournemouth's game, which is unsettling opponents with that really tight aggressive press. Teams like City can do it for 90 minutes even if you play through it sometimes. Less successful sides can do it for a bit but if you puncture it a few times, they lose confidence and puff and it forces them to sit off a bit.

We’ll probably go direct to try to escape their intense press. The worry is that if we are open in the middle once again and they get that boy Semenyo on the ball. He’s quick and he has a fierce shot. I think he’ll make a move up to a bigger club if he keeps up his performances.

Bournemouth have 10 points from 15. But considering the game is at OT and we have better players than them, I fancy us to beat them in a fairly open game.

If we imbalance their man-to-man press I think we can rack up a big scoreline. But I’m not sure we have the forwards who can take advantage of open spaces like that.

I was impressed with the work-rate against Chelsea but thought we were way too open to be any bit satisfied with our set-up. Bournemouth are in good form and Ryan Christie looks quality. I think we'll struggle.

why would he drop Antony after his best performance in a long time to play Bruno on the right who has been playing his best football at 10? he just said that players need to earn their starts
Yeah you’re right, I was thinking about it afterwards and I was just trying to fit Kobbie into the team. I’d probably go with the same 11 as the other day again.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but I'm pretty convinced Rashford comes back in and starts for this. After this game we have Bayern and then Liverpool, and Garnacho has been playing non-stop and still observable tires late in games. It's far less risky playing Rashford in this one and hoping he responds than potentially having no choice but to play him in one of those upcoming games. Get prepared for it gents.

I'd keep him out of the starting eleven here and, if someone needs a rest, start him against Bayern. Realistically, we're out of the CL anyway, given we need to win and hope the other match ends in a draw to progress.

I agree with people who think rashford will start- but that doesnt mean hes back to being a starter. We will rotate ahead of bayern and wouldnt be surprised to see him benched again vs bayern with garnacho starting. Thats what the squad is for.

Id expect Mainoo to start after being rested midweek, McTominay wont be dropped or rested.

Must win here before our hard fixtures come up. Need to back the Chelsea performance up with another convincing display and win. Please stick with the same team if possible except probably Varane in for Lindelof as he’s unavailable. If ETH brings Rashford back in then he’s a fool and deserves all the stick he’s gonna Get for it.

They need to show again for this one, not just prove the Chelsea game was a one off.

We’re winning this 2-0. Hojlund will get his first league goal in the 34th minute and Bruno will score a penalty on the 76th minute.

Iraola sounded like a familiar name, found out he was captain of that Bilbao side that schooled us in our first Europa league outing .

Bournemouth are well coached but I watched them live this season and if we press cohesively we can force errors.

I’m confident we will create plenty of chance but if we don’t take them they certainly have the ability to cause problems. Especially given how easy we have been to play through on the turnover.

Should be same team apart from injuries, same mentality.

We need to take this game in the same way as we took Chelsea.

I think we see the same front 6 with wan bissaka, Maguire, Shaw and Dalot (or potentially Evans for Dalot).
Have a stange feeling there'll be a goal fest today.

Garnacho is literally not even 20, he should be capable to play 10+ full games in a row. Like Salah etc. doing it for years nonstop

His age is the issue. Players in their early-to-late 20's are the ones who are generally able to play pretty much every game. Younger players are still physically (and mentally) developing so it's a bad idea to overplay them, and older players generally don't recover as fast between games so will find it harder.

Obviously different players mature differently and it's not a hard-and-fast rule, but I think it probably does apply to Garnacho seeing as until recently he struggled when starting games and even more recently he's tended to drop off later in games.

Got to be the same team that started v Chelsea, Regilon was great when he came on but i start with Shaw at LB and see how lindelof does.
Bruno in danger of a ban if he gets a yellow and miss liverpool away but we cant think like that. 3pts today is the most important. We are unlikely to get much at anfield.

I would like to see Amrabat and Mainoo together behind Bruno.
I know Scotty scored but he doesn't offer alot besides being a goal threat and the other pairing could/should us better control and therefore more chances.

A good performance and a win against Chelsea midweek. Everyone is in high spirits and the Caf has voted overwhelmingly to win this. It looks like we have finally Turned a Corner™.

    What could possibly go wrong?
