Brighton & Hove Albion (nicknamed The Seagulls and Albion), are a professional football club based in Brighton & Hove. The club was first formed as Brighton & Hove United on 24 June 1901, and the name was quickly changed to Brighton & Hove Albion. The club took the place of a defunct club, Brighton & Hove Rover, in the Southern League In the Southern League they won their only national honour to date, the FA Charity Shield, by defeating Football League Champions Aston Villa in 1910. There had previously been Old Brightonians, representing the area in the FA Cup in the 19th Century. The club initially played at the Hove County Ground, with a few games were also at Goldstone Ground that was used by Hove F.C. From 1902 onwards, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. and Hove F.C. shared the Gladstone Ground. In 1920, 19 years after the club was formed, they were elected to the Football League's new Third Division.

Mismanagement brought Brighton close to relegation from the Football League to the Conference which they narrowly avoided in 1997 and 1998. A boardroom takeover saved Brighton from liquidation, and following successive promotions they returned to the second tier of English football in 2002, from then on playing in the second and third tiers of English football until the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, where the club earned promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history, marking the end of a 34-year absence from the top flight. Bighton's fans consider Crystal Palace to be their biggest rivals with matches between them termed the M23 derby, and they play their home games at Falmer Stadium.

Our only trophy now. Go all in and get that horrible taste of defeat out of my mouth (it'd take quite a win to be honest).

The only way to make this season begin to be thought of as a little bit acceptable, is winning this cup and staying in the top 2.

I really hope we see a backlash.

Most likely, we'll see the team play the occasion instead of the team again, look nervy and squeeze through.

Should be able to keep them scoreless and at the very least force a replay.

If losing this means Mourinho gets the sack, then it would be a small price to pay in the long run.

No replays at this stage anymore, I'm afraid! Rest of the season boils down to this and trying to avoid City sealing the title in the derby.

Tell you what, need a fast start on Saturday to keep the crowd onside.

We do our usual fecking awful slow lethargic start and there will be trouble.

Don't really care at this point. The hangover from this result will also be big in my opinion.

There is literally no chance we'll start quickly.

    We better fecking win this.

Jose just needs to chill out and play our best attacking players in their correct positions and leave shit houses on the bench.

I only hope we can play with the same aggression and intensity that Mourinho said we did tonight. Fingers crossed.

Can we petition to score 2 own goals in the first minute just to put our players in the right frame of mind for the rest of the match?

    I really am not joking.

Couldn’t give 2 fecks seriously. The way we played tonight coupled with the fact City are now basically already on their trophy parade of the title is enough for me an FA Cup isn’t gonna fix anything.

After tonight, players I’d like to see get a opportunity and a start:

    Romero
    Darmian
    Blind
    Shaw
    Mctominay
    Mata
    Gomes
    Martial

Don't give a feck about this game tbh. The atmosphere at Old Trafford in this game will be the worst since years and rightly so.

Can’t be arsed. Hoping for a West Ham style pitch invasion to spice things up.

Think we might see a few changes.

It could go either way, the team know they have nothing else to play for as do the fans, it's possible all will enter Old Trafford with a focus and determination, or it could be toxic.

It had better be a win. DDG is starting to either show disinterest, or lack of concentration. The second tonight was very poor.....the first was stoppable for him. He has been beaten at his near post in each of the last three games before this.

Attitude was manky tonight, but as this is now the last hurrah, they had simply better get the finger out and go and win the shagging thing.
