The feck, 7:45pm on a Saturday?!
From manutd.com: The match has been selected by broadcasters for the primetime evening slot, seemingly as another trial ahead of its introduction in the Premier League in the 2019/20 season.

Nice of the FA to consider the Brighton fans. We wouldn't want them to get home too late.

Remember the reaction you would get from Fergie's teams after a poor defeat?

    Those were good days.

Brighton are good enough to beat us and will get no better chance this. An early goal for them and the atmosphere will be toxic in the ground.

Going to this one, I'm sure the atmosphere will be buzzing.
    Have a good one!

A lot of Caftards were equally confident for Seville.
They were, but I wasn't. I never took them for granted and, after our first leg showing, I wasn't confident going into the 2nd leg at all and wasn't surprised at all to see us go out playing the football we did.

Here, though, I think we'll at least play some football because at Old Trafford against the lesser teams José actually does attempt this. I'm not saying we're guaranteed to play well and qualify but I expect us to try and dominate.

The only game I have any interest in from now until August. Completely deflated by this club.

At least we know if we lose it won't be a big deal because Mourinho managed teams that won at Old Trafford before.

Lose this and I expect an airplane with a Jose out banner above OT

Absolutely, crashing out of the FA cup 4 days after the CL disgrace and with an international break coming up ... wow, that would be abysmal, toxic, long-term damage.

I think Mourinho will make a few pointed changes for this one, some players may be benched, others out of the squad altogether but it possibly dressed up as a break before the internationals. It’s difficult to know entirely who will be absent.

I’d pick the following, but I ain’t predicting this:

    ............Romero
    Young Bailly Smalling Shaw
    .....Fellaini Matic Pogba
    ..............Mata
    ........Lukaku Martial

Subs: Pereira, Darmian, Lindelöf, McTominay, Lingard, Rashford, Sanchez

The shape can shift through the game, but principally you have Martial and Lukaku attacking the defensive line, both on their preferred side. Mata for final third passing, with a midfield three to control the game. Fellaini and Pogba both have the freedom to play box-to-box/mezzala roles. It’s a shame that they have both have had disrupted seasons. Young and Shaw will both provide their width with them both on their more natural side for crossing.

DDG given some time off. Valencia dropped but given time off. Sanchez benched. I like Blind and think he’ll be a rare player to be better off after leaving United, but my imagination isn’t enough to include him here!

Is anyone even bother by the FA cup / League at this stage? I've completely lost faith in this United team after Tuesday. My first O.T European match followed by a 7 hour delayed flight home the day after. Maybe I just still sour over it but meh...

Exactly what happened under Moyes and LVG. I'll only watch the remaining games out of habit. Which I know will just lead to further frustration.

That's my only expectation for this game, not the result, style or anything inbetween. Just some fire in our players after the Sevilla match. I want them to show they care.

Getting up at 4:30 to watch this. I can have a wank at half time 'cause the wife will still be in bed. Even if we're losing, it won't stop me.

The wank will be all the more sweeter, if we are winning. ;)
And after the match, you can go back to bed with a big smile on your face.

And if the wife asks you why you look so satisfied and happy, you can tell her that MUFC won! :p

God knows what tactics he'll use. If he goes for more of the same and wins ok but if we lose, the fans will go mad. If he goes all out attack and wins great, but if we lose he might say I told you so.
The other problem is that if he goes all out attack and loses, that's us out of the FA Cup. That will be 2 competitions that we'll have been dumped out of in 5 days.
Considering this, I think he will play for the win and play as he usually does.

Playing tumescent shite while going for a FA cup is not what this club should aim for. If that makes you happy, then kudos to you. Maybe us becoming Arsenal is well on its way sans the half decent football.
    You are over-exaggerating.

Arsenal are not in 2nd place. And are/were not in the CL.
Next season we shall be title contenders and will play in the CL. Arsenal will be neither.

This season's arsenal is not in CL or in top 4 but it is the arsenal way isn't it, Top 4, a R16 exit in CL and a FA cup win. Also 2nd or 4th doesn't make much of difference when you are 16 points behind the top team.

Jolly decent of the Brighton fans to take a smaller allocation of tickets so United can have a signing section in the designated away end on Saturday night, should help with the atmosphere no end, though it's a sad state of affairs if you'd need it for a FA Cup Q-F at home.

We need a response. As Lombardi said, it is not whether you get knocked down, its whether you get up.

Us being out of the CL will be good when we need to fit the replay into our "tight" schedule ... Going for a feisty 0-0 ..

Didn't really show much of that (in our next match) after getting beat by City earlier in the season.

Doubt we'll lose but I'd expect a pretty unremarkable performance.

Yeah that was bad. Showed a real poor mentality.

Liverpool draw as well. The first game we played really negative and the team have never been the same since.

Expectation might have been a poor choice of word, I would want them to show they care.

It could be a difficult game but can't see Brighton winning it. Sevilla are a much better team.

One of the dangers is that our players will be somewhere between nervous and terrified, which Brighton will exploit if they have any sense. If they go a goal up, who knows how this team will respond.

Chris Hughton may be a pragmatist style-wise, but I’d be surprised if he’s thinking feck the Cup - avoiding relegation’s all that matters. I’ve admired him ever since he took over a just relegated Birmingham who were in the Europa thanks to beating Arsenal in the League Cup. They were in a horrible group with loads of long trips but really gave it a go.
