    Must win game. It’s a shame I’m
Not optimistic going into a home league game vs Brighton.

I’m glad there are still some teams lower than us in the league

God, I knew standards had dropped, but bragging that we are edging Wolves on GD and newly promoted Villa by two points after a quarter of the season is grim.
Unfortunately a lot of fans believe that we are doing a decent job.
I don't quite understand how we went from "2nd is not good enough (2 years ago)", to "14th place isn't bad and we are a work in progress".
Absolutely shocking how expectations have fallen in 2 years.

I can only think that Woodward's rhetoric of "this is a long term plan" is working and fans are believing it.
Rodgers needs 1 year to get LCFC to top 3, while we need 3 years to make top 4. It makes no sense.
The truth is that Woodward wants to spend as little as possible, while still increasing profits. He is using Ole as a shield to prevent some fans from showing their discontent.

Regarding Ole: he is terrible and I don't think anybody doubts that, but IMO Woodward is the problem. If we could get relegated while spending nothing AND maintaining our profits, I am sure Woodward would do it. He'd then say that in the short term, he will rebuild the squad in the Championship (with less pressure on the players and manager) and then push for promotion. The fans will probably believe it.

How come? Under subscription they show all EPL games (or is it only outside of England?)
In England they usually only show a maximum of four matches a week, with five on the odd occasion.

On Saturday they show two matches, they couldn't show us as we're in Europa. Arsenal played on Wednesday this week so their Premier League match was on Saturday. Wolves match had to be on Sunday as well, and as their game is a derby their match takes precedence over ours.

    The heady heights of 7th.

Solskjaer is completely out of his depth.

    De Gea
    Lindelof Maguire Rojo
    AWB McTominay Fred Williams
    James Martial Rashford
Play without a number 10 so Pereira, Lingard or Mata don't need to play.

When Tuanzebe and Pogba are back it should be.

    De Gea
    AWB Tuanzebe Maguire Young
    Pogba McTominay Fred
    James Martial Rashford
Quite simply the best 11 we have until we buy a new left back and a creative midfielder or number 10 if Pogba leaves in the future.
Williams is our new leftback. He's been phenomenal that times he's played, and he's only 19.

Can always rely on @sunama to tell the fans they're stupid, yet he still believes the club would be happy being relegated. Your obsession with Woodward is something else.

I really hope we stick with Rashford-Martial-Greenwood front 3 because it is much better than a Rashford-Martial-James front 3.
Once Pogba is back he needs to play behind front 3 of Rashford-Martial-Greenwood with Fred and McTominay in midfield. That is 100% our best front 6. If you think James should be in the team you are 100% wrong.

I see, many thanks for explanation.
Personally, I purchased a subscription this year and can watch all EPL games (or highlights thereof) - either live or later at a convenient time.

Only costed around $50 per season (about £40 I believe). But I didn’t know there were no such options in England

Per year it probably costs nearly 10x as much to subscribe to the relevant sports channels, and we get to see half the matches at most. It sucks.

Says it all when its only the home advantage making us the favourites today. This won't be easy. They're a compact defensive team a so for me scoring early will be important and then pick them off when they try and force it.

Yes, it's the majority opinion that James has done well since he joined. My opinion is that he is average and is massively overrated by a large number of our fans. The reason is like always, HE'S NEW and so people look at him through rose-tinted spectacles. Majority believed Darmian was better than Valencia. Majority still believe Lindelof is better than Jones and Smalling. Majority believed Fellaini was garbage every time he played regardless of whether he was or not. Majority hate Ashley Young. Majority opinions aren't always correct.

Daniel James has won us several penalties and has scored in the EPL.

Mason Greenwood has not, and quite frankly he hasn't been great the few times he's played in the league so far. Different story in the Europa League.

And I'm saying this as a big fan of Greenwood.

This comparison isn't that great, Greenwood is also new to the first team.

Do we think Mata will play again?

He did well on thursday, and shouldn't lose his place to Lingard or Pereira... but is he fit enough?

Here's one for you. Our two CBs should be 2 from Maguire, Jones and Smalling because they are our 3 best CBs. I will make a wild guess that you would prefer Tuanzebe and Lindelof to Jones and Smalling. Am I correct?

When were you polling all the United supporters to get your numbers? Quite confident in your claims about what the majority thinks.

Greenwood hasn't started any league games yet. I would like to give Greenwood the same amount of starts that James has had AND THEN compare.

Well give him enough starts and I'm sure he will get something done, that kid has an enormous amount of talent. But he's too young to be 'the guy'. He needs another year to get there, at least

Which claim is wrong? This forum, YT and social media is full of hate towards our players, am I wrong?
On FT Devils they hate Ashley Young, right or wrong? If you happen to disagree with one of the claims I made that doesn't mean I'm wrong that it's the majority opinion.

Ansu Fati was 16 and manager put faith in him. Greenwood is now 18?

Feck me! :o Just looked at the league table(l don't look at the league table, listen to Talk Shite or Five live anymore :( ) how are Brighton 8th!

    Honestly not joking.
Because we’ve got a great team, playing exciting offensive football. Graham Potter has changed this team beyond all recognition, anyone expecting the defensive set up we’ve employed previously at OT is in for a shock, Potter will think we can get something from this game.

Everything is wrong because you're stating the majority this and majority that with no way to back it up besides anecdotal evidence.

Darmian being better than Valencia is news to me.
Lindelöf being better than Jones and Smalling, don't think so. Smalling has been our best defender since SAF and Lindelöf has not won many people over. He was our best defender last season after an abysmal first season and has been average this season.
Regarding Jones, Fellaini and Young, people are just sick of them. Fellaini was a limited player and him playing meant that we were playing limited football. Jones has been here for 43 years despite always being injured. Young has been here a slightly shorter time yet still plays a despite being an average player. Like Fellaini he's a symptom of us declining and staying in that decline instead of improving and getting back on top. Both him and Jones got new contracts which signals that not much is changing.

Yes, but Barcelona are the more stable club to debut in then United. There is a difference in receiving the ball from Busquets and Messi than Lingard and Fred..
In the past maybe. I watched them lose against Levante last week and they played as bad as us.

Everything you have said here is not the majority opinion. It doesn't matter what you or I think, it's what the majority opinion is. You might not think Lindelof is better than Jones and Smalling, but the majority do. That's why almost everyone wants to see Maguire and Lindelof and then some wanted Maguire and Tuanzebe. I want Maguire and Jones until Smalling is back from loan. Then I want 2 from those 3. That's what I want, I know it's my opinion, not the majority opinion.

Watching Jonny Evan boss Arsenal yesterday really brought the insanity of football home to me.We pay 80 mill. for Maguire and Leicester improve not us? How much did we sell Evans for? Not a lot I bet.It screams of bad management and I don't mean just by the football manager.

Can't see us winning this one today for some reason. Brighton are a good team and always play hard against us. That Gross fecker will probably score again as well.
