If Wreck It Ralf actually cared at this point he'd drop Maguire and do something like

    De Gea

    Shaw
    Varane
    Lindelof
    Dalot

    Pogba
    McTominay

    Sancho
    Bruno
    Elanga

    Cavani

But, he won't, and we'll draw another one

People will sit there and blame Maguire, but lets be honest, if our attacking players were performing better and more ruthless in the final third, we wouldn't be worrying about the chances we have conceded on goal, which has remarkably improved under RR.

Don't get me wrong, based on performances, Maguire could possibly be dropped, but he's far from the only problem in our team, as in, if we were to drop him against Brighton, would we all of a sudden score more goals? Probably not!

It's all very well putting in Elanga and Cavani, but are they really any more likely to score than Rashford and Ronaldo?

The rest of the lineup picks itself.

I'm going for the same starting 11 as yesterday and likely the same subs too.

Just start scoring ffs. A good game gives our forwards confidence and we can take it on. It’s all we really need

It's pretty depressing going into a game knowing you're going to get dominated by Brighton :(

Let's hope we take the chances that come our way.

Brighton lost just one league away game this season, it was against Villa 2-0 back in November and both goals was scored in the final 5 minutes.

They drew 2-2 in Anfield and 1-1 in Stamford Bridge this season.

    Their away record P12 W4 D7 L1 F15 A12

Uniteds home league record this season in comparison.

    P12 W6 D2 L4 F19 A16

Brighton have only lost 4 games this season. Quite incredible stat that. Not looking forward to this one. I think we will really struggle with their energy and organisation.

Any kind of win would be huge for us.

Remarkable to think how low we’ve sunk to have a home game versus Brighton at OT yet have absolutely no idea what the result could be. There’s as much chance we lose this one. Brighton are a solid mid table side and we can’t score. Ah well here we go again…..

    DDG

    Dalot
    Varane
    Maguire
    Telles

    Fred
    Pogba
    Bruno

    Elanga
    Rashford
    Sancho

    Try something new…. anything!

The fact that we now expect a draw here is why we’ll probably lose.

Usually, there is someone who crawls out of the woodwork, in these matchday threads, claiming that we'll win 4-0.
Are there any takers, this time around?
This is another home game, but like every game, I believe this can go either way.

As we play through our fixtures, we are playing increasingly better teams.
Brighton is another step forward over Southampton and Southampton played us off the park when they chose to step it up. We had no response.
I can't see us winning this match.

Is Telles fit for this one?

Surely Maguire will be on bench for this one. And Shaw as well if Telles is fit

Man Utd should be bagging maximum points from these matches. Their March fixture list is straight from hell.

If Potter is a good manager as people make him out to be - then for me there would even be a slight positive in us even losing this.

It might be like his auction for the club and maybe an auction in front of Rangnick too. I know hardly anything about him but apparently he is a possesion based manager and is therefor starting to make me want him after ten Hag.

Interesting take. You really think Brighton are a better team than Southampton?

Im aware of how grim this is, but they're the type of well organised hard working team we will struggle against, particularity in the middle once again

    “Crawls out”

Look at that worm over there, crawling out and vomiting their positivity at us! This is sadcafe and don’t you forget it!

Anyway, reckon we got this, 4-0 to us.

All I want to see is Rashford and Maguire dropped, I think Shaw has had a few games and not shown enough either, my team would be built around getting the best out of those who have performed the best recently which, for me was Pogba, Varane, DDG & Sancho.

    DDG
    Dalot Lindelof Varane Telles
    Fernandes
    Matic
    Sancho Pogba Elanga
    Ronaldo
Telles --> Told to keep the width and overlap as much as possible and cross wherever possible, look for Ronaldo at all times rather than aimlessly cross
Fernandes --> Told to drop deep and STAY deep, his passing and work rate if he can stay deep I can see being a great hard working DLP with Matic as static as he is
Elanga --> In the team for work rate and attitude, will chase everything and can push up slightly with Ronaldo at times to press up top and harry

We are relying on too much creativity from the centre (Pogba and Bruno) and it leaves any #6 exposed, this way we can encourage someone to support the 6 but still playmake from deep and get our wingbacks encouraged to get the ball in and overlap

There are two neutral CL ties in the RO16 that look worth watching to me: PSG vs Real and Ajax vs Benfica. We're playing this game at the same time as the former and Atletico during the latter.

I'm watching us of course, but ffs.

I just want to say one thing. People still having Shaw and Rashford in their lineups, stop smoking crack. These 2 don't deserve to be even on the bench.

I've never seen so many people on the Caf predicting draw!. Maybe even those who always say we will win 8-0! So being a complete fool, I'm going for a 1-0 win (more chance of winning the CL!)

We will cross it into the box endlessly and Dunk and Webster will effortlessly deal with every single one.

Sad to say but the pre-match thread has become largely redundant as it doesn't matter who we play anymore as there's still every chance we will be crap

    Are Telles and Fred back?

I would love to see us line up like this:

    De Gea
    Dalot - Lindelof - Varane - Telles
    Fred - McT - Pogba
    Sancho - Bruno - Elanga

McTominay as a 6 with Fred and Pogba just ahead of him.
Bruno playing a false 9 where he can cover ground and create for the wide forwards.

No Rashford to give the ball away every 5 mins and HMS Harry on the bench.
