    ------------De Gea
    Valencia--Bailly--Rojo--Young
    -------------Carrick
    ---------Pogba--Fellaini
    Mkhitaryan-----Zlatan---Lingard

Went for this due to the lack of Ander and Jose talking about changes, but who knows. Carrick hardly plays for the third time in a week, so poor choice by me in hindsight.

I’m told Luke Shaw, candid about his United future earlier this week and impressive against Sunderland and Everton earlier this month, will not be starting.

That will prove my point: Jose will never play both Valencia and Shaw at the same time again. He wants a defensive full back and an attacking one as he was doing with Chelsea.

    He'll start Darmian.

I think this will be very tight and dull, Conte might well see a point as a good result and Jose just wont want to lose.

That is one thing that is obvious. With Valencia starting it'll be Darmian on the other side. Maybe Blind at a stretch.

If that report is accurate, then is TFM starting? Who partners Bailly? Carrick?

Have a feeling this could be 343.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
    Who's Chelsea no.2, still Schawzer?
Interestingly enough, Schwarzer won the title with Chelsea in 14/15 even though he didn't play a game and left to Leicester in January. Then he won the title with Leicester in 15/16, without playing a single game in the league.

I'm surprised nobody picked him up this season since he seemed to be a good luck charm.

We did beat Tottenham early on in the season, didn't we? Though that's like the only win against the top 6.
    Yup so far

    2 draws against Liverpool
    A defeat away to Chelsea
A defeat at home to city
    Draw at home to arse
    Victory at home to Spurs

    6/18

    4 still to play :nervous:

This defensive one side and offensive one side thing is really pissing me off. Surely we can just have one sit back while the other attacks like most teams? Makes more sense because then you're not one dimensional.

I hope this is not true.

We haven't beaten Chelsea in nearly 5 years. We've played them in the cup 4 times since we did as well. Absolutely crazy.

I see us beating United quite comfortably because of the Europa fatigue. 1-3.

Mourinho isn't budging on that. At CFC, Jose refused to give Filipe Luis, a top attacking LB, the games he deserved because he had his attacking full back in Ivanovic. Even to the extent where he played Azpilicueta out of position at LB so he could have his one defensive/one offensive fullback look.

That's diabolical. Hope our record in the big games improves next season.

Silly looking at how well Luis is playing for Atletico.

An early suggestion is United will be playing six defenders.
United, of course, went three at the back to match Chelsea in the FA Cup game but since then they’ve lost Smalling and Jones to injury. Mourinho suggested earlier in the week he had no choice but to retain Bailly and Rojo, yet they could be joined by a wild card today.
It’s suggested the six defenders are all defenders. That is still ambiguous in regards to certain players, but it throws up the possibility of someone like Tuanzebe or Fosu-Mensah starting, which would send eyebrows raising skywards.

I'll understand if we rest players for Thursday and it'll be the right decision, however that doesn't mean it'll piss me off when heading to the match and moreso if we see a defeat

Our record has been poor against them for as long as I can remember. Long before Roman they were the team we had the most trouble with in the PL years

I'll be surprised if we can out score them. Doesn't seem likely.

Hopefully we compete. Mourinho in big games has been suspect at best.

Maybe we can change him. No one thought he'd stop the park the bus counter attack type football too but we haven't played that in a while.

    We all love United
Fully expect Fosu Mensah to start then. Guess this was why he gave Mensah a short run out the last game to let him have a feel of it

He's a top fullback. It's such a shame he isn't at CFC atm - but Alonso is doing a decent job to be honest.

I don't think Jose will ever change when it comes to things like that. Any excuse to bring back the bus - which looks like it'll happen today as well.

I think Jose parking the bus is a bit overstated to be honest though. He usually only does it in high profile games - games most people watch, thus gets that label attached naturally. It's not something he does the majority of the time though.
