Unlike earlier in the season we havent adapted to the system change. To be fair the pressing from Chelsea has been absolutely superb, not allowed us to play the ball out.
Same token, this game has showed up some of the weaknesses in our squad.

    1) Bailly cant seem to not get injured the way he plays. Feel sorry fro the guy, was by far our best centre back til he got ibjured
    2) Lindelof just cant tack runners on crosses, has happened time and time again since he has been here. He simply really isnt good enough for a title challenging side
    3) DeGea isnt the keeper he used to be. It was by no means an easy save as he had very little time to react.....but he never would have not saved that a couple of years ago
    4) Daniel James is shit. CHeap gamble, useful squad memeber....no he isnt. Hr has pace and works hard, the rest of him game isnt a development thing, he simply doesnt have the ability, he isnt a premiership player let alone a Manchester United one.

Narratives been set last few weeks. Refs letting them be as aggressive as they want and doing nothing about it. Even in the studio they're laughing it off.

I'd seriously be debating going with Greenwood & Pogba at half time for James and Fred/Matic. Reckon it'll be left 10-15 minute though.
Pogba yes to find Martial and Rashford, but Greenwood should only come when James has tired them by running off his socks. Right now, that Chelsea team is going to try to injure Greenwood. We have to force them to be booked, at least one yellow, so that they don't go crazy on Greenwood when he comes on. It's up to James.

The meltdown in here ffs. fecking calm down people. Was always a tough ask (how often does a team win 4/4 big games against a good team?), but 2nd half will be better IMO. Chelsea have done nothing but foul us but they've also been hungrier than us and looked fresher.

Anyway, 2nd half we'll push up more and it'll be a different game.
I love how the same people are taking this piss out of Leicester fans

You would have thought after the Obafemi goal, Lindelof would learn from it to be goalside. Same old Lindelof. You can blame anyone or whoever you want but Lindelof is making the same mistakes because being outmuscled is always his weakness. Too soft.

I think it's because it happened outside the box. VAR is not allowed to intervene if it is a foul outside the box.
Since when? Buendia got a red card for raising his arm last night thanks to VAR. I don't know where you heard that VAR can't intervene outside the box but it is not true.

Feared we'd get turned over, simply because we've beaten them so many times this season!

    It's how football works!

Shocking defending on the goal. Lindelof not in the wide awake club, and De Gea beaten close to his body again.

Hope we can produce something, but it looks omninous today.
That was my thought, no way we’d beat them 4 times this season!

    Ighalo on for James.

    Pogba on for Fred.

And kick the feck out of them.

    I don't give a shit about 4th.
    It's in the bag.

Go all out for the cup final!!
Agree with the part about go for the final. Hate the attitude of didnt care about the fa Cup anyway. Its a fecking final. Thats what its all about. Maybe I'm just old but id rather us win trophies. Winning trophies instills the winning mentality.

BBC are a holy joke. They are so, so incompetent at their jobs that they really don't deserve rights to any games. There is no preparation, no professional, no apparent knowledge of the game considering they've all played at the top level.

All the Chelsea forums are crap and I cant be bothered with Reddit. I like this forum and have been coming here for a good 11 years before registering finally.

Take it as a compliment mate. Redcafe is great.
    Oh Ok. No problem.

He already has. We've changed formation with the Martial sub and we're still getting dominated.

Parking the bus is seemingly all he knows in big games, and it's infuriating.
It's the next level for him to reach - play like a dominant team against good level opposition. He's handled playing like the underdog with a counter attacking setup. Bruno and Pogba helped him figure out how to open up deep defenses, but this is the next level for him to go for. If we're to have a good season next season, that's 100% what needs to happen.

He made 5 changes FFS any more is too many. You need to keep continuity.
It's not the number it's who he chose to rest.

If anything it should have been AWB, Bruno, Rashford and Matic being rested. And probably one of Lindelof and Maguire as well. Why is McTominay not starting? He's only started like one game in how many since the restart? Ditto TFM.

James is nowhere near good enough for this level so why put so much on his shoulders by playing 5 at the back?

BBC don't believe that was a foul on Martial, but they went on, and on, and on about the Lindelof challenge against Palace which was very similar (if anything, Zouma's was more egregious). Biased cnuts.

Going as I thought. For us CL is > priority than the FA Cup. I think the players realize it.
So sad that the FA Cup is not worth anything today. If the winners secured champions league qualification it would recover some of it's former glory.
Growing up in the 70s and 80s the FA cup was huge. Not today.

How on God’s green Earth is that DDG’s fault? It’s at extremely close proximity to him, and it’s hit at a height where it’s very difficult for any keeper to save. I’ve blamed him for goals against us like Stanislas and Bergwijn’s, but that’s never his fault.

I blame Lindelof and Williams. They switched off, which you just can’t do in a cup semi-final, or any game.
Being that close and getting a hand to it should have easily done enough to stop it going in. He just doesn’t stop it properly and it spins over the line. Poor for me.

Lindelof is so, soo bad. I cannot fathom those that want him as a starter. And even i am starting to get tired of de Gea. 2 years ago he would have saved that with ease.

I had idiots ganging up on me for suggesting he should have no place in the first team. It's not just this game, he cannot mark his own shadow, let alone win a header. His only saving grace is he can stroke the ball if he is given enough space.

    Stop blaming the ref.
The Martial foul was not a pen.. The foul too wasnt intentional.
Bailly injury was nothing to do with Chelsea.

The ref has been ok.. letting things go a bit.. but hardly worth talking about.

    Its just making excuses.

We set up to sit back. The injury was bad.. the goal conceded was down to several individual errors.

The team was set up to be negative.. we might change it in the second half..

I cant pretend to be too annoyed.. We all know we can play a lot better.. this game was always going to be one where we made changes and not set up the way we want.

There is a bit of a "can't be arsed" approach atm. Clearly phoning it in.

I defend Lindelof a lot but he’s at fault there. Just as Williams and De Gea are.
You can count Matic and Maguire too.

The team should take the blame, but it was poor from victor to allow giroud to get to the ball first. There was literally nobody else but giroud in the box. It was a hit and hope.

Struggling to be arsed about this but let’s go out and attack in the second half at least.
