Pretty good except for Rashford but at least he's in the box with good chances.

Players need to step up a gear.

Rashford and Mkhitaryan especially, who have been really poor this half.

It's like they don't even bother watching him play. He's been excellent again today. His passing into the space in between midfield and defense has been the catalyst for most of our attacks.
Same cliches being thrown out. I mean Herrera has been gash most of the season but last few games and today he's been good.

Not great. Rashford should have scored. Shame he has lost his form. Pogba very mixed as well. Think Mkhitaryan have been good and Mata. Want to see a bit more from Lingard.

Rashford's having an off day with his finishing to say the least, but other than that I think he's been very good. I'd move him to the left and bring Lukaku on for Mkhitaryan at HT. Rom would bury these headed chances we're getting.

Very wasteful. Over elaborate around the box, spurned clear chances within it. We have played well but all of that will be for nothing if we don’t turn our dominance to goals.

United need a better version of Herrera more than they need a #10. They also need a right winger.

I say they need a better Herrera (even when Matic plays) because they need TWO good holding mids. I think Herrera is a serviceable bench player holding mid.

Against Liverpool or Man City I can't see him being defensively strong enough to defend counter attacks.

Some good balls in but real poor finishing from Rashford there, put Martial or Lukaku and let's get the job done.

    Rashford hits the post :nervous:

Does he even touch it? I think he closes his eyes while heading. That is why he is so shit at headers. Second chance was very easy too.
If we lose this now, mourinho will be blamed, but its not his fault we cant finish should be atleast 2 up, rashford alone has fecked up 3 chances and carson's had his great game in the shop window.

This is the highest level, he has to step uo
I understand your point but it is so obvious Rashford plays like someone who hasn't scored in a while and hasn't played as a striker in a long time. He needs one goal and I'm sure it would change his whole game and mentality. People forget how young he is at times and there is a lot of pressure on him to perform.

Mikhi and Rashford have become so painful to watch. Guess we'll need Lukaku and Martial after all.

It should have been an ultra easy match but too much complication for plays from some of our plays making it unnecessary difficult.

If a non-mod starts a thread, are they allowed to decided if people get thread banned or not?

If so, I might start creating new matchday threads.

I'll call it: "Diarms Alternative Matchday Thread for People who aren't Cnuts".

Good goalkeeping and poor finishing means we are not ahead, perhaps comfortably. Now the game is open for either side to win.

Solid half going forward, they are packed in tight, couple of our moves have broken down with a bad touch but we are on the right track.

It's no surprise it coincides in games where he isn't being asked to play the Pogba role. Many posters here decide they dislike someone and unless they net a hattrick they'll be criticised.

Way too wasteful in the final third. Rashford should have scored at least one of his 3 chances. Mkhitaryan failing to deliver as well.

Rashford is either hitting his shots too hard or not enough contact. He pitifully out of form and confidence but I’m not playing him is going to do him any good.

Overall good half. All over the place defensively on our right hand side but quite ok going forward. Should lead obviously.

Everyone seems to think Herrera is having a good match
No doubt about it, he is playing many good through passes putting people in space and holding well. Against lower opposition we can play him at 6 easily.

I thought Mkhitaryan been fairly good. Get into good positions and link up quite well with some nice passes as well. People seem to disagree here though

It’s despairing when we get into the final third just waiting for who’s going to feck it up.

Classic early round game v lower league team.
Bit uninspired, but still should be comfortably ahead.
