Changes needed after this taxing night. Cavani, Lingard and DVB should be able to come in. Ronaldo to rest. Any of Pogba and Bruno too. If we can't freshen things up regularly over the season, might as well pack it in. We should dispatch Everton comfortably.
We don't dispatch anyone comfortable unless there name is Leeds and give us the freedom of the pitch

I’d love to see how we operate if we rested Bruno and played Pogba alongside Matic and McT with whatever front 3 we have. Currently Pogba and Bruno can’t play together because both basically plays as forwards in the final third which opens us up as we don’t have a DM that can cover properly. Think it would also help our shape a bit more. Could even play Donny instead of McT for extra passing.

Just was evident tonight that Bruno will never adapt to actually playing as a midfielder and Pogba alongside McT just gives two very defensively unaware players.

Please no more McTominay for at least a little while. He shouldn't be rewarded with another start after back to back stinkers for 90 minutes. Rewarding failure isn't a healthy habit for us to be getting into.

Matic should play as we are just better when he does. We need to stop forcing Bruno and Pogba together - Ole can't make it work and unless the opposition is shite, we look a mess. Give Cavani a start. Either Sancho or Lingard on the right. Since Greenwood with Ronaldo and Cavani wouldn't work IMO.

Cavani deserves a start. Mason needs a rest. Bring him on after an hour if necessary. Sancho ideally gets 30 mins too.

McTominay alone there doesn’t look like it gives a good balance, though. But perhaps we should go for the outscore the opponents strategy here.

We're now in a solid position in the CL.

A win against Everton, and we're in a solid position in the PL too.

Then we're onto the international break and hopefully able to use that time to rediscover/improve upon the form that got us second place last season.

I see this match almost like a game save checkpoint in our season. It's a must-win.

The fat spanish waiter will be scheming to serve us an aston villa like dessert. I wouldn't be surprised if he's successful. Everton to win 1-0.

Ostensibly a bad match up for this side. Benetiz will sit in and counter most likely. He has a couple of in form wide forwards. We could really use getting an early goal in this game as the longer it goes on at 0-0 the more edgy OT will become.

So they will have Rondon as striker and Gray behind him? That's one of the worst forward lines in the league, so they shouldn't possess too many problems on paper but in reality is another matter... I haven't seen Everton much this season but I imagine they will be organized and make it difficult for us. I can't see it being an easy game. Also difficult to play Wednesday evening and then Saturday morning.

After last night and the performance vs Villa, not optimistic for this at all.

I'd drop Pogba for VdB and leave the front 4 as last night, we have to give Sancho a run of games to build up some momentum and Pogba on the left leaves us unbalanced imo.

How have you fared in their absence? Looking at your lineup for recent games and it looks a bit weak these days. Do you fancy your chances at all? What sort of approach can we expect from Rafa?
Aston Villa and QPR both beat us whilst we beat Norwich at home which most teams will do this season.
No threat at all from Rondon and we're missing our top 4 scorers from last season.

We've a small squad and its even smaller and we're down to the bare bones when we get a couple of injuries.
Allan, Doucoure, Gray and Townsend are our shining lights in midfield, defence can let us down sometimes. As soon as we make a mistake in defence our head goes as what happened v Villa.

I expect we'll play on the counter and look to use Gray's pace and hope for the best.
I think we'll score but cant see us getting a result.

Play lingard on the right, he will get hammered for it, lose his confidence. He can’t play as a RW or RWF

    Can see Fred starting too.
With Lingard, Cavani, Fred, DVB and AWB, it will be 5 fresh players coming in.

Maybe start Ronaldo on the bench for this one and come on when game starts to open up in second half.

Cavani and Greenwood to come off the bench. Putting Lingard in there to balance the front 4, to add more industry to it.

After last nights shit show in midfield i expect ole to revert to a pivot, matic and Fred is my guess. Pogba bench for me. To many luxury players made for a top heavy unbalanced team last night.
happy to see cavani / Ronaldo given a half each but in which order? Ronaldo looked knackerd last 20 minutes but still scored.
shaw may be back he was touch and go for last night but hadn’t trained.

    3-1 United.
Slot in Cavani instead of Ronaldo, and you have your lineup spot on for this game. He needs to be rested.

Rafa will set up way more negatively than Emery did. The same team we played yesterday, with the exception of if any of our first choice defenders are back, should play. Not even going to bother mentioning giving VDB a try.

Ronaldo is going to want to play every game possible to rack up as many goals as he can. I doubt he would entertain the idea of resting.

Early kick off after playing Wednesday means we will have to make changes. I think Lingard and Cavani both deserve to start. Greenwood and Pogba can make way as neither have looked great lately.

It shouldn’t be up to Ronaldo though, manager has to show some balls in such case.

I don't we can take Everton for granted to the extent we can rest key players against them. Be three up at half-time and give him the second half off.

With how we’re playing currently it kind of feels like every game is a bad match-up.
