To be honest it seems like I have an unpopular opinion here but I don’t think Angel Gomes showed anything to suggest he’s the second coming of Iniesta and our midfield savour. When Mata came on we started looking far more dangerous.
Did anyone ever suggest he was the second coming of Iniesta? We looked better morseo because of Lingard than Mata. Chong was doing nothing and Lingard was an immediate upgrade.

People are so biased here . I want the guy to do well and make it here but theres no point pretending he did well when he clearly didn't.

Hardly means its over for him its his first real start and he will improve for it
Exactly, I expect him to get more minutes against Rochdale next week. Ole is bedding him into the team the right way. It's up to him to take these chances

A min back Greenwood made an excellent run in the box. Lost his markers. Sigh no one wanted to pass at him.

So when other managers aplaud their players when they screw up (like dalot minute ago) it is called "support", "great managment", but when Ole does it is "don't know why he is aplauding, it was horendous atempt".
    Go comb you hair Robbie.

Greenwood has shown nothing the whole match, until the goal.
And what has Rashford ahown, apart from the ability to miss numerous chances and not just today, most weeks.

I’m not being knee jerk and saying Mason is a great player now, far from it, I just don’t rate Rashford very high at all and never have or no doubt will. I watch reserves and have done for years, he is a better player in my eyes just very raw. Give Mason 160 plus games in the first team and it would be a fairer comparison to make I guess.

I am really racked off with this lacklustre rubbish. Greenwood goal so far only highlight in a braindead footballing display

Yeah, manager giving his players confidence shocker.

TBF if you compare the debut of both players then Rashford takes the cake easily. He debuted in kinda a worse and more disjointed team and had a dream debut in both EL and PL. Greenwood might become better than him eventually but the guy has a point in telling you to remember Rashford's debut.

Quite odd how Fred most often positions himself for a shot with his right foot, to then realise he's left-footed.

Matic and Fred are just horrendous, even against this League 1 standard side.

£90m paid for them and we got one decent season out of one of them

Lingard had a cracking shot and has proceeded to just give it away every touch now as per.

Surely Rashford debuted in a more organized team.

Just look at what we have now.

Lingard has been good, sure, and so has Mata, IMO. To me it’s clear he’s a quality player and I feel like while some of the stick he gets is deserved, tonight it is completely agenda based. He’s been miles better than the man he replaced.

Many years to go with Gomes though. I’m not expecting him to be as good as a senior International.

First competetive match for a few of the players, think the younglings did ok considering.
