Galatasaray Spor Kulübü, also known as Galatasaray AŞ in UEFA competitions, is a Turkish professional football club based on the European side of the city of Istanbul. Galatasaray was founded in October 1905 by Ali Sami Yen and other students of Galatasaray High School (a high school in Istanbul which was established in 1481) as a football club. Ali Sami Yen became Galatasaray SK's first president and was given the club's membership number "1". The team's first match was against Cadi-Keuy FC and Galatasaray won this match with a score of 2–0. There were discussions about the club's name, in which some suggested Gloria (victory) and others Audace (courage), but it was decided that its name would be Galatasaray.

Since there weren't any other Turkish teams, Galatasaray joined the Istanbul League that was consisting of English and Greek teams in the season of 1905–1906. With their first championship title they won in 1908–1909, they heralded the beginning of Turkish football history. While football in Turkey began to fully develop, Galatasaray won ten more Istanbul League titles until 1952. Upon the initiation of professional football in 1952, the first professional but non-national league of Turkey, Istanbul Professional League, was played between 1952 and 1959. Galatasaray won three of these seven titles. Türkiye Profesyonel 1. Ligi (Turkish Super League today) formed in 1959. This is the top-flight professional league in Turkish nationwide football, and the most popular sporting competition in the country. Galatasaray joined all seasons and won 23 league titles since then. Internationally, Galatasaray has won the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup in 2000, becoming the first and only Turkish team to win a major UEFA competition.

The club has a long-standing rivalry with Istanbul teams, namely with Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe. The derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe is dubbed the Kıtalar Arası Derbi (English: Intercontinental Derby) due to the location of their headquarters and stadiums on the European (Galatasaray) and Asian (Fenerbahçe) sides of the Bosphorus strait in Istanbul. The club plays its home games at Rams Park in Seyrantepe, Istanbul.

    No rashford
    No bruno

    And we might win.

As if we play CL games without our star player and the captain. Not that I disagree with you. There’s a very slim chance Rashford is dropped, but 100% Bruno plays. My captain always plays.

Eitherway I want to see hannibal and garnacho start this game.

    Onana
    Lindelof Varane Maguire Dalot
    Casemiro Amrabat/Hannibal
    Mount Bruno Rashford
    Martial

I'd actually drop Rashford and start Garnacho but that probably won't happen.

The next international break can't come soon enough. Please.

    Onana
    Dalot Varane Maguire Lindelöf Amrabat
    Casemiro Hannibal Mount
    Hojlund Martial

Galatasaray top of league and also unbeaten this season.

Us played 8 lost 5, can’t see nothing but a draw at best.

It's going to be another slog, have a bright start then give away a set piece or lose runners from cm then concede easy goal. Huff and puff the rest of the game and lose..

Won't be in the Champions league next season so best to enjoy this campaign and hopefully can bounce back with a win here but hard to be any where confident that a win for United will be achieved on Tuesday night. For the record Galatasaray currently top of their league and won today,

Gonna get real ugly if we take anything less than 3 points - we’d essentially be out of 2 competitions already

It will be utterly embarrassing if we can't win here against a team full of rejects and aging players, but I can't say I'll be surprised.

Need to drop Rashford and Fernandes and start Garnacho and Hannibal. Get eleven men who play as a team, run, press and don't keep giving the ball away.

It won’t happen but Rashford & Bruno should be dropped.

    Onana
    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - Lindelof
    Casemiro - Amrabat
    Mount - Hannibal - Garnacho
    Hojlund

Well said. Can be done under the guise of rotation. Then if it works can keep them out and answer “well the group during the week played very well so I stuck with the same team, they’ll get chances to get back in

    I’d like to see:

    Onana
    Dalot Lindelof Varane Amrabat
    Hannibal casemiro Mount
    Bruno Hojlund Garnacho

just play Hannibal and Garnacho. They deserve more game time.

Hoping ETH will try a Casemiro Amrabat pivot. Means playing Lindelof as one of the full backs, but I'd rather that than another Casemiro Bruno Mount midfield. If Antony is fit play him, if not having Garnacho, Bruno Mount in front of Case and Amrabat works for me. Mejbri should start, but I think he won't due to pressure to get Mount to perform.

Martial will start I think and I have a feeling Rashford won't.

    Onana
    Dalot Lindelof Evans Amrabat

Eriksen or Hannibal, whatever on that point. Probably Hannibal for better energy to inspire us more. Garnacho has to start. Bruno on the right as pellistri shouldn't start. Let Rashford be bench for a bit. Amrabat will sadly be LB until we get one back.

I think it’s time to leave Rashford out. Only seems to perform when he has something to prove, perhaps a spell on the sideline might help him rediscover last years form

Need Amrabat in midfield so I’d go with this.

I think that after Ten Hag fined Rashford for lateness, one of the bosses had a quiet word with the former. Since then, Rashford can do what he wants on the pitch and won't be dropped.

Rashford needs to sit this one out. It undermines any message about setting standards if you continue to start the guy who saunters around the pitch every game.

Don't know what to expect of this game, I'm giving up on this team(again). Don't care anymore, whatever. Just patiently waiting in the background to see what will happen with the Glazers , thus deciding the ultimate fate of this club. This season is a write off, obviously, with so many problems.

I have a feeling that we are about to approach the 'desperation' phase of a United fan. We are all hinging our hopes for improvement on having new owners.

Like Onana being expected to be so transformative for the club's playing style & performance; I suspect even getting new owners will be like a damp squib also known as a boehly.

When I don't have any interest in watching a Manchester United Champions League match that's when I know things are alarming. I hope we win but I have better things to do than watch another 90 minutes slog.
