Pretty even game to be honest. Jose happy to sit on the 1-0. S.S.D.D.

Not complaining, been a positive start for us. Andreas looks comfortable as Andres Iniesta and Fred has had a pretty good first half in competitive football for us too.

I want Sanchez to liven up a bit, his end product so far has been far from satisfactory.

    Positives
    Fred & Pereira looking good.
Pogba confidence levels should be on the up after getting his name on the score sheet.

    Negatives/Room for improvement
Darmian needs to buck his ideas up going forward. Also needs to do better against Gray in defence.
Sanchez in the final 3rd needs to be far better. Missed opportunity with that header he put over (offside was given but definitely shouldn't have).

Aside from that I'm happy with the first half. Same again in the second please lads!

    HELLO
Don't know if it's because it's the first game in a while but I really enjoyed that.

Midfield looks much more dynamic, and alert to passes on the break

    Pereira looks brilliant.

Luke Shaw bombing on is fecking delightful to see.

You look at the side and think it needs one top winger to really kick on, which makes it all the more disappointing when Sanchez is well below his standards once again.

I would be replacing Darmian with Young asap. Also I know Rashford is young, home grown etc but he is just not very good at playing upfront in my opinion. Get Sanchez who has been lost on the left off and bring on Martial. Then Lukaku up top.

They look faster and stronger than us and when we get the ball our only thought is to try and score rather than just keep possession for a bit but then we are playing with a midfielder who's had no pre-season and the other two essentially making their PL debuts

Pereira and Pogba have done very well in the middle of the park. Fred is realising how fast the EPL is, but his technique is great.

Some shocking first touches there. Can't hang on to the ball. Shaw growing into it, Fred looks nervous but finding his feet. Rashford hasn't the presence to be the man up there in this formation. Have to get on it in midfield. Lukaku on, Martial or Rashford out right, Juan off.

We're primed for a deserved win, but we need to sharpen our passing in the last third when we break on the opponent.

Messy in parts but some good moments. We’ve looked dangerous on breaks and with space we’ve looked weak down the right defensively. Fred has great energy and is a positive player. He’s been sloppy but I like the type of player he is. It’s going to take 2-3 games really this is still like extended pre-season for some of the lads.

I’d like to see Lukaku come on soon as possible.

Seems like he is fast becoming our new Rooney. Not a promising start, but lets see how the season progresses more before judging.
It was clear after a few matches. He's not going to get any better. He's lost it, and looking at his frustration he knows it. He just can't do what he maybe used to be able to any more.

    Half time review

Boring first half. We look energetic in the first and final 10 mins but in between was plain shite.

Positive : Fred really look the part. I like his energy and he was everywhere on the pitch. Pereira was tidy on the ball and Bailly/Lindelöf kept Leicester at bay.

Negative: Apart from scoring the pen, Pogba didn't do much, Sanchez still look like last season mess and if the FA Cup final still haven't prove Rashford isn't good enough to play as a CF, today he showed why. Don't get me started on Darmian

I better hope Lukaku comes on and add presence to our attack.

Pereira is like a signing. I got a feeling our midfield is going to be on a different level compared to last season with him and Fred.

I like the look of Fred, you can tell his nervous but the signs are good. Well done Andreas & Shaw. Sanchez disappointing, if we signed more World class players as he suggests he should make way. Non threatening.

We are struggling to keep possession. We need to control the midfield and not let them get into our box so easily.

The front 3 don't seem to be receiving much of the ball in promising positions.
I agree, but it does look like it’s by design. As soon as we scored we fell back into our own half. Just stopped playing with any real intent. We’ve had two occasions where we could’ve had two players through on goal. Rashford has also mucked up a couple of great chances to attack. Still unreleased potential.

If only we can push a yard closer to Leic players the ease with which they gain and move the ball can be stopped and possession gained.

We are too passive at times more concerned with keeping shape.

Every time, a forward pass is made to Rashford, he runs the wrong way. Why can't he judge a ball in flight? He always seems to misjudge it. I do not think he is good enough as he is made out to be.
Sanchez needs to up his game too. As for Mata I really do not know why he even plays for a club like United now.

I would say im surprised to see clueless people slagging Fred off, but it’s completely what I expect from the match day thread.
He is trying too hard and is obviously nervous. He’ll come good, I like his energy but has been sloppy to be fair.

All been said before but we pose no threat at all on the right. Darmian and Mata is a terrible pairing. But we knew all that already I suppose.

Glimpses of some really good stuff. Started well and ended well . Like the midfield 3 when Fred settles in it will be really good

No real plan to our attacking play. Win ball, play it long, same as last year.
The midfield trio needs time to play together. Fred and Pogba can't both drop so deep at the same time. One of them needs to push forward, preferably Pogba. Fred plays to risky with the ball.
Darmian and Mata are both a liability in defense. No contribution from either in attack. Dangerous to have them both on.
Sub: Mata - Martial. Sanchez as RW, and he will help Darmian.
    Shaw been decent.

There's a lot of potential in that midfield. We look undercooked, Leicester has been better 15 minutes or so. But we have a basis to work on.

    So to summarise.

    Great save De Gea.

Some good defending from Bailly and Lindelof. Darmian looks shaky at the back. Shaw looks good going forward.

Fred has got stuck in, win the ball back a couple of times. Pogba has been pretty good, just needs to keep the ball better in the second half. Pereira has been quiet but some good closing down and helped us get out of a couple of sticky spots.

Mata hasn’t had much to do although has tracked back and helped Darmian defensively. Sanchez has lost the ball pretty much every time he has got it and Rashford hasn’t had much service but made some good runs to open up the space.

Typical Mourinho performance but there have been a few times where a counter attack looks on but we just haven’t seen/found that lethal pass. Still a work in progress I suppose. Defended pretty well, but if we keep inviting pressure like that we will concede because there are mistakes in our defenders for sure.

Getting close to switching this sh*te off.
Key players missing. Our nodal points in attack : Striker and Attacking Midfielder has had no pre-season. Fred is adjusting to a new league. Calm down. At least full backs are bombing forward.

    Things will only get better.

    Anyone but Rashford
There cannot be a worse player in the league than Darmian. He makes Valencia look like a Super Saiyan Cafu.
