After that utter dross I'm very pleased I re-deemed my Now TV one week courtesy pass rather than take the £179 for ten months 'deal'.

I’m sure there will be a lot of moaning but I thought we played well enough bar a couple of disastrous performances. And the team fought hard throughout. I’ll take it.

Love it. People (especially on the Caf) are going to be furious when we finish above Liverpool again this season.

Can't take anything away from that as it's the first game. Pogba looks the dogs bollocks!

Professional though uninspiring performance. No idea why Bailly and De Gea switched off at the end of the match.

For most part, Pogba, Pereira and Bailly were in beast mode. Shaw was quite good too, as was Lindelof.

Tell you what, that Leicester team is not half bad. They're gonna do well.

Really enjoyed that. Very sloppy at the end but first game and all that.

Fred and Periera looked very promising

Looked quite alright every now and then... But why did that ratfaced bastard have to score in the end and destroy my points for DDG in FPL

Terrible first half, better second. Disappointed to have conceded right at the last but I guess the win is all that matters on opening night.

Really happy to see Shaw get that goal. I hope it's the start of a return to form and potential for him.

So happy for Shaw. After his injury and the things he has had to take from some of our so called supporters he really deserved that.

Enjoyed that. Popped downstairs at halftime to make my tea and emerged thirty seconds before Shaw's goal. It's a bit like when your body wakes you up two minutes before your alarm. Thank you Jose. We're spiritually aligned.

3 points on the board and key players getting some good minutes under the belt. Plenty of positives in Fred, Bailey, Shaw, Pogba and Periera amongst others.

Sanchez and Mata need to be shipped to the women's team.

And Bailly is too erratic but Lindelof and Perreira were good.

Shame we conceded but all in all it was a pretty fair result I think as they had a few chances before that. Pogba/Fred/Pereira looks very good, the quick short passes between them help us out a lot. 2nd half we were pretty comfortable really. Hopefully a slightly more convincing performance next weekend.

Pogba deserves huge credit tonight.

Luke Shaw did well and looks in decent shape, hopefully he can take great confidence from this.

Not much more of this will be tolerated from Sanchez, he has had a whole preseason to get ready for this game.

The midfield with pereira, Fred and Pogba has the makings of something really nice. A lot of mobility, passing and skill there
