For me the biggest thing today was how relentless we were in winning possession back, it was almost Bayern-esque the way our players would hunt the ball down after losing it. Brilliant. You can slowly see LVG's philosophy coming into place, quite exciting when you think about it really.

The only thing for me is our defence. de Gea surely can't be this incredible for too long and someone like Costa or Aguero would have easily put 3-4 past us IMO. Hopefully we get a CB partnership of Rojo and Jones (IMO our two best CB's) going after xmas and with Shaw and Rafael back fit too I think this would help to build some momentum and stability at the back.

Other positives for me were both Young and Valencia having good games, RVP looks to be back in form. Our play is becoming more and more fluid with every game - something which I hope will become dramatically increased with di Maria back in the team. Herrera was also good when bought on, too.
Good post. If I wasn't a permanent newbie myself, I'd give you a like for that.

That was pretty much the same squad as last season! (Bar the last 25 mins or so).
It's amazing to see what confidence can do. Oh and David De God .

nothing in it when your coasting at 3-0 the teams tempo drops off a bit so i can forgive those little slips.

The only surprise for me was how low-key I felt. I wasn't even sure Rooney's stike had gone in at first, the second I was shocked RvP didn't get his header on target so almost missed Mata turning it in and for second thought RvP was offside for the first. I guess the main reason for lack of usual jumping around like a mad thing was the realisation of just how poor Liverpool are...

I actually thought Fellaini had a really good game after that stupid pass and subsequent yellow card. Lots of important, clean tackles. He was the only player who's overall rating didn't closely match mine.

Obviously De Gea was on fire today, I like everyone gave him 10/10. But Wayne Rooney had a great match today. So did Michael Carrick, RVP, Valencia. I also think Mata and Fellaini did solidly, and Jones made a good contribution. Ashley Young, too, worked hard and put in both a quality defensive and attacking shift at wing back. I appreciated Herrera's calmness and class when he came on. Yeah, we had a bit of luck with the second goal, but this side is looking better all the time. Weaker performances; it's fairly obvious Wilson was off his game, but my heart skips a beat when Evans attempts a pass. As other posters say, Steven Gerrard has really slipped in his game in my opinion. When they are bringing on Ballotelli, you know L'pool are in trouble.

Thought he played well too, especially second half. Passing was a bit off tho.

I disagree with the idea that Liverpool were poor. I thought they played well and created many chances, their downfall was they lacked a striker. I feel we might of been in trouble today if De Gea was slightly off boil or Liverpool had a world class striker. But none of those scenarios occurred.

    Great win, top goals.

Good in the second half. SOme horrid passes in the first: after five minutes he was lucky LVG didn't haul him off a la McNair

Doesn't that equal that they were poor?

3-0 and DDG was MoM. I guess Gaz is having an indigestion of humble pie.

Agree about DDG, obviously, but also on the mark about Rooney and Carrick. Thought Wayne dominated the midfield

I agree with the OP. They came all business, and worked incredibly hard to press way up the field, United were more or less hemmed in their own box for a while in the first ten minutes. Its an important result, this was Liverpool desperate for something in a difficult period. Great win, fabulous goals. Bask.

You forgot to mention Fellaini. I mean how good was he in the second half? How many times did he win the ball back cleanly? Amazing performance.

Knew it. Liverpool are shite but that was a very sweet win. It doesn't get much better than beating them bastards.

They were great in going forward, poor in defence though.
