I get that Giggs is their mate, but how can anyone logically come to the conclusion that he should be the next Manchester United manager?
I think it'll end in tears if United go that way. Mourinho is the sensible and logical choice.

    That was you?
Fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion.
But I personally think you're wrong about Mata.
No qualms, everybody is entitled to his but majority are on the same page with me.I personally feel Barkley will offer us even more and am not a big fan.Pace ,skill and strength in the no 10 position is very important,it scares teams to death.

I'm doubting people's commitment to Sparkle Motion
Am not even a fan of Jose but we need to be competitive once again,we at least need to raise our head above water first then think about expansive football and " role model" managers.
Yeah, I hate the position we are in right now and I like you would prefer to not have to turn to Jose.

Shows how incompetently the whole club has been run since Sir Ferguson. Hopefully we will learn never to let it happen again!

Giggs as a manager ?? Feck nooo. Enough taking stupid risks with Guardiola, Klopp, Conte, managing rivals and we get Giggs instead of the special one that would be a true disappointing specifically after a season in tears like this one and specially after that moron who manages the team still.

What a absolute pile of steaming horseshit that was. The Fellosophy was in full effect tonight...an absolute embarrassment that our whole game plan is to 'knock it up to the big lad'. He is poor at every aspect of the game. Van Gaal playing Fellaini is pure stubbornness. Not subbing him is pure cowardice as he knows we will jeer the substitution.

Van Gaal is a shitstain on this club...out to Liverpool with a whimper. He's taking the piss out of every single one of us. I can't stand this man. Please just feck off.

It was one of his better games, but that's not saying much. He's fairly effective in the air in the defensive box, but his attacking headers are awful. He couldn't be gone soon enough for me.

    No surprise.

Carrick and Fellaini CDM's once again, fellaini is literally the only player that LVG deems worthy of 90 mins.

All these MUFC fans saying LVG rested schneiderlin for liverpool....HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

De Gea the only player on the pitch that can actually hold his head up high. The bloke is fantastic, once he goes to Madrid in the next window, MUFC will then know what 8-11th feels like.

LVG usual fecking garbage, made THREE DEFENSIVE SUBS after he dribbled lies out of his mouth in the press conference that "MUFC has scored 3-4 before". HE PLAYED FOR THE DRAW!

Probably the most embarassing part of the night was giggs doing is "look i'm not LVG" walk down to the technical area when the game was completely out of reach. If giggs didn't want to take some of the blame for this season, he should of walked in January. He's hanging onto LVG for dear life in some snivvling attempt to be handed the reigns of a club that is floundering under a moron. This man CAN NOT become our manager.

here are some stats/comments to just put the cringe on top of a hopeless season

We have now won 9 out of our last 26 games.
Bournemouth have scored more Premier League goals this season than Manchester United.

LVG: "I am not angry, I am not frustrated. I was very proud of my players. They gave everything and I am pleased the fans recognised that"

    DELUSION UNITED FC!!

I didn't watch the game cause I was out for st paddys but I just knew we wouldn't have it in us from that line up. We have absolutely zero bottle, we're not a united team and Louis needs to go!

Ahem... That wasn't the point of my post. I was mainly pointing out the humongous discrepancy between the performance on and off-field, and that the priorities of the club is just skewed towards milking every single dime of the brand and getting our name on any product as long as it contributes to a larger bottom line. But I guess that IS something to hold onto after seasons like the ones we are enjoying now.
I don't think that the club prioritizes money over success (although the Glazer's seem to do that..) but I agree that it's incredibly ironic that we're so successful financially when we have at best played like a middle league team for three years now.
My objection was more with the wording of your argument.

Ok, so I thought I'd sober up and wait till the morning before making an informed, intelligent analysis on where and why we lost this game.

We lost this game when Van Gaal was appointed.....There's my promotion to the mains secured.

I'm worried about De Gea. For the goal, he could have done so much more. Even watching the replays his positioning from the get go (thanks dad for that phrase) was off.

He's making incredible saves every week, but his basics are getting a bit shit to be honest.
Any specific examples of his basics getting shit? Yeah, his positioning was off for the goal but I think he was just trying to preempt a cross. All other aspects of his game are fine in my opinion; kicking can occasionally be hit and miss but that's more because he gets given hospital passes all the time and generally tries to pick out a pass instead of booting the ball away.

180 minutes of European football against Liverpool and we played fairly well for 30 of them. Once we scored we seemed to totally lose our shape and went all desperate when we should've just closed ranks and seen out the half. As has been said, that is precisely the time LVG should be on the touchline shouting instructions.

The only positives I can really find are Martial, Rashford, Rojo and (to a slightly lesser extent) Lingard. They kept on running and at least trying things when the likes of Mata, Carrick and Fellaini just disappeared with the game. Seriously, if Martial could improve his final ball / finishing, he'd already be world class.

Saying that Giggs should be the next United manager is like saying the club should take a huge risk again only this time give the job to someone who has no managerial pedigree at all. United need a top class guy with a great track record. Someone to get us back on track, and not someone who could make us even worse. Just because Giggs was a fantastic player will not make him a great manager. Bryan Robson was a fantastic player, but an average manager. Time to wake up for the people in control at the club. It would be akin to getting in a great plumber to rewire your house.

    There's only one United!
My view on the game yesterday was that after we scored LVG should have reined-in our team until half-time so that we would not concede. We had ample time left to get a second goal and, at that point, the most important thing was NOT to concede.

Unfortunately our team was all over the park and we left ourselves open to their counter-attacking when we should have been more cautious.
