the game played out exactly how I thought it would, sadly.

limp 1-1 draw with us on top and scoring first to give hope only to be done by a random equalizer
LVG's incredibly negative substitutions didn't help, though.

On that basis, I don't see us winning a game before the Villa match.

Liked how we came out the blocks. We should start every single game like that, not with shit, arrogant possession crap. Goal on half time killed it, may have been a different result.

We had them on the rack after we scored. Their goal knocked the stuffing out of us. We came out after half time a beaten team, we should have come out all guns blazing. Would love to know what that idiot said to them at half time. Putting on 3 defensive players when we needed goals was utterly mindless (not that we had many options on the bench, but we know who sold loads of our attackers). Fellaini is not a United player, Carrick is finished. The rest of the team look like they have given up, they have lost confidence in the manager also.

Giggs down on the touchline doing the managers job, but without the authority. We really are a mess. RedCafe does not even crash anymore when we are shite, its expected now.

The last 10 minutes of the dippers singing their hearts out was sickening.

Had to keep a clean sheet. Didn't. Game over.

LVG is just an imbecile for continuing to play Fellaini. And our lack of squad depth meant no strikers on bench, and one attacking player not brought on, in a game we needed goals. It's almost comedic.

Out to a bang average Liverpool team. Sad.

He will be sacked after the next two games. Put some money on it.

The only solace to take from this is that we wouldn't have won this competition and Liverpool won't either.

In terms of being knocked out of Europe by your bitterest rivals, this is as painless as you could ever ask for.

He probably wrote his half time notes last night, while he was deciding what subs he was going to make.

That's really up there with the worst I've seen in terms of zero game plan, minuscule bravery and lower leagues level composure.

Awful match and the United board continue to look like fools.

Kids let down by the senior players yet again, but Van Gaal is still the manager so the narrative will continue unchanged.
Funny that, cause I thought it was a kid that gave Liverpool their goal.

No goal in open play from 180 minutes against a poor Liverpool team.

Shit manager picking a team like he doesn't care and who all know he's a dead man walking.

Honestly, it's a silly competition that shouldn't exist, in my view, but given it offers a Champions League place for the winner, it has some meaning.

Can't say I really thought either was near likely to claim that but it was a hope we had and a hope that remains for them.

Thought the way we closed out the game in the 2nd half was great. We needed to protect our -2 goal lead.

Thought young Rashers, Tony Martial and De Gea did their jobs well. Otherwise, what else is there to say?

I'm just anxious now about who the board will replace him with. That's big the issue for me. Just hoping we don't embarrass ourselves even more for the rest of the season.
