If there's ever a time to get a half and half scarf...

In regards to the team, we may as well go back to the diamond we seem to use in most of the big games and what Spurs had a quite a bit of success with the other day.

    Lingard Rashford
    Pogba
    Fred McTominay Pereira
    Shaw Lindelof Smalling Young
    De Gea

Change it up and let some others play and see how much effort they put forth:

Romero, Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, McTominay, Perreira, Fred, Lingard, Sanchez, GreenWood

In a sadly recurring theme we reach the end of a season and I can barely stand to watch us.

Sick of every single one of the players, sick of Woodward, sick of the board, sick of this season. Just want it to end.

    Utd 0 City 3
They lost to Leicester, Newcastle and Palace at home. They're on good form but no team is invincible.

Can't play kids against City or we will destroy their confidence if they get obliterated.
Exactly this - the young players still have a chance of serving the club and building careers for themselves; this is a game for the no-hopers and deadwood to do their thing one more time before being shown the door in the summer.

    Rather this:

    Mata
    Young - Rashford - Martial - Rojo
    Matic - Lingard
De Gea - Romero - Jones
    Lukaku
I like this suggestion, though if Jones is injured then move Romero to the left-wing and give Smalling the number 10 position to unlock City and feed the attack. Then bring-on Jones, Herrera and Valencia within a few minutes of each other in the first-half - I’m sure those injuries aren’t too bad and anyway if we end-up with three players going off injured then all it will do is affect the opposition team’s “rhythm” :nono:

Pep will never see that line-up coming...

    Dalot Martial
    Rashford
I belive this is our best bunch of players and should be what is selected for the remainder of the season. Then have a few of the kids as subs, so to give an idea of who should be looking for another club if they want game time.

Stevie G literally passed it to Drogba to deprive Utd of our EPL title almost 10 years ago. This time around we will kill scousers' title hopes, but naturally with no intentional mistake.

What are you on about? Ole has been instructing Young to be shite and give the ball away constantly for months just so we can't get punished for match-fixing.

    Romero
    Dalot - Rojo - Darmian - Shaw
    McTominay
    Garner - Pereira
    Gomes - Greenwood - Chong
Keep Young, Smalling and Matic on the bench just in case we aren't losing by the 70 minute mark.

That's so crazy it just might work. In this game, we probably won't have much of the ball in city's final third, so we will have few to zero opportunities in their box. It is likely that most of our possession will be in our own half. So if our aim is to win the game, we need players that have the highest chance of scoring from our own half. Taking into account the distance and technique required, goalkeepers are the most likely to score from our own half. One could argue that midfielders might be able to do the same job and they are better at the midfield battle. This is true, midfielders would be better defensively. However, if you want to be offensive, then putting a goalkeeper in midfield would give us the best chance of scoring. Although, I think its going a bit too far putting mata into goal. Come on, we need a proper goalkeeper in there.

At least the everton result means if we get battered by a few goals here no one can accuse us of rolling over.

City will go hammer and tongues in the first 20, get 2 or 3 then bang their subs on, sit back, light a pipe and admire their handywork......they wont want to break sweat and wont have to. We're a great training game for the run in.

Our toughest game left of the season, derbies are unpredictable but we put the Spurs loss behind us and need this to win the title. I think B.Silva will be key in this game and Sterling as usual, I think we'll win 2-0. Come on you blues!

    sorry I couldn't resist
Look at this ladies and gentlemen. Look at how scared this fan looks at the prospect of playing us? Embarrassing is an understatement. They don’t seem afraid at all and that’s a major concern.

    Where's the DOF?
Even with top 4 (incredibly) still on the table, I really couldn’t care less about how many they beat us by. I desperately want to see a performance. Show me something I can get excited or remotely optimistic about following yesterday’s abject underachievement. Play the kids and make the ‘stars’ watch it from the stand. Gutted.

    Sanchez
    Young - Smalling - Bailly - Rojo
    Fred
    Pogba - Lingard
    Darmian - Lukaku - Matic

Going to give De Gea a rest and get Sanchez more involved.

What makes you think that there will be more intensity against MCFC, than Barca?
At Barca, it was a big European night. Huge stadium. Massive history. Huge stadium.
And you are saying that our players will play with more intensity at OT (where we have a poor record, under Ole), than we did at the Nou Camp?

    Genuine question.

Mate, I'm a United fan taking the piss. You know there are a lot of United fans that want City to win because our top 4 hopes are dead right?

If we win and win with style bad things will happen
    1. Scousers get the league
    2. Everyone will be back to 'these players have potential'. 'We only need a couple of signings' etc. Basically the same lie we have been telling ourselves for 6 years.

Is Shaw definitely fit and not suspended? If so our defence might actually be good as we can play both a proper LB and RB for the first time in the last few games

I reckon we could go with a back 5. Something like this-

    ----------------------------De Gea-----------------
    Dalot---Smalling---Lindelof---Shaw--Young
    -------------Mctominay--Fred---Pogba---
    --------------------Lukaku----Rashford-----
