That seems both excessive, and makes sense.
Broadcasting blackouts happen in America too for many of their big sports, but are a lot more nuanced around specific locations and often tied to tickets actually still being available. They are also done to protect local broadcasters too, who may share rights with a national broadcaster for big matches.

    His performance in 07/08:

His first ever hattrick was against this lot.

Also, some Ronaldo-Rooney-Tevez link-up brilliance

dont care about how it works just want to see ronaldo start this game. At home, coming out in the number 7. If that can't will this team to smash newcastle we are all doomed.

A Manchester United win is no guarantee.

But I wonder what Newcastle fans must be thinking now. Every player will give 10% more playing with Ronaldo on his debut in front of a sell out Old Trafford.
It does make you question the fairness of having the window open past the start of the season. Newcastle have to have Ronaldo twice whereas Southampton don’t.

But then they tried closing the window earlier and it was a shambles so I don’t even know what’s better.

Scott is out till October with groin surgery. And what on earth has Pogba done to you that you'd drop him against Newcastle of all opponents? There's a strong argument he's been our best player so far this season.
I'm more interested in bedding in Sancho and developing Greenwood, we shouldn't need Paul against Newcastle. But he can play in central midfield without Scott, though I'd rather see VDB get a chance.

I'd be more interested if he signed a contract.

Finally a selection nightmare for Ole. Greenwood has scored 3 in 3, surely he can't be dropped. Why stick with the two defensive mids? Why not go 433 or even a modified 442? You'd want to see Ronaldo, Sancho, and Greenwood all starting, but how to fit Pogba in and still have some defensive stability?

    Ronaldo wont start.
    It will be Cavani.
I think you're mad. He's nailed on to start for my money. He's had a full pre-season and just played 90 minutes for Portugal. Plus Ole will want to give him the whole game so he can try to score on his return. He'll be in the starting XI; put your house on it.

Any idea how serious Sancho's injury is? Wouldn't be surprised if we see something like this now:

    de Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Varane Maguire Shaw
    Fred Matic
    Greenwood Bruno Pogba
    Ronaldo

Doubt he would've started anyway. Pogba on the left, Sancho bench in any case imo.

I'd say the big question is whether Ole will risk starting a fresh Cavani with Ronaldo up top as a two. Ronaldo will obviously start, but it seems a bit daft not to use a fresh Cavani from the very start.

Team might as well pack it in if we don't get three points here.

Expecting this lineup, although I wouldn’t start Fred personally.

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Varane Maguire Shaw
    Fred Matic
    Greenwood Bruno Pogba
    Ronaldo

Lucky I live in France as I’ll get to watch Ronaldo’s second debut live :D

Actually a really hard prediction this week.

    DDG
    AWB
    VARANE
    MAGUIRE
    SHAW
    POGBA
    MATIC
    GREENWOOD
    BRUNO
    RONALDO
    CAVANI

My best guess, think it’ll be a tough match too.
Edit: forgot Sancho, it is really hard to predict, crikey.

Many options but I don't think Ronaldo will start.

    Cavani
    Pogba Bruno Greenwood
    Matic Fred

    or

    Cavani
    Sancho Bruno Greenwood
    Pogba Fred

    What I'd like to see

    Cavani Ronaldo
    Sancho Pogba Bruno Greenwood
    Shaw Maguire Varane AWB

If Fred is picked again I'll claw my eyes out. Please give a pivot of Matic & VDB a go. Pleaseeeeee.

Swap Fred for VdB and I'm happy. He needs a game and Matic and VdB played well in pre season.

Imperative to start Sancho. He needs to find his feet and constantly putting him on the bench isn’t going to help much
I agree. He needs the confidence he will find in front of a hot Old Trafford crowd alongside Ronaldo. The Mkhitaryan treatment could do real damage. For both England and United he’s looked a lot less certain so far.

That said, if he is injured, Jesse is going to have a lovely old time with Ronaldo and Greenwood in a front three. I think Ole should, and will, start him if Sancho is unavailable.

Sancho has a knock though. Suspect he will be on the bench.

Is he actually in training at the moment? I thought he had to isolate for 5 days. He’ll probably start still tbf no chance I see him not
The game isn’t til Saturday. He’ll be done isolating by about Wednesday. He played & scored for Portugal so he’s clearly fit. Cavani has barely kicked a ball so if anything Ronaldo should be fitter.

Yeah, the only real question mark for me is who starts beside Fred in midfield. McTominay is still out, and I think Sancho picked up a knock (as above), so I can see Pogba back to LW + and Matic next to Fred.

    Fred - Matic
    Greenwood - Bruno - Pogba
