The last time Forest scored against us was 25 years ago. I somehow doubt they are going to come in and beat us 4:0 amidst Manchester.
10-men Reading scored a goal against a United side that had no Casemiro, Martinez or Varane

Man, I'm super stoked about Sancho getting on in the 2nd half. I'm totally ready for a transformative Sancho starting tonight. Visibly less body fat, more active in engaging a front press, sharper in general.

Sancho on the bench! I really hope to see him later in the game, reinvigorated. And it looks like Mainoo will get some minutes under his belt as well.

Strong team that, god knows why we aren’t rotating the squad more.
A couple home games in a row.

ETH did say they aren't doing heavy training and the games are the 'fitness'. I assume that means they're just working on technical things and not burning out by over training.

Three of the back four are changed from the last game, Rashford rested too. Very glad to see Martial and Sancho on the bench, they need minutes. Gelling in Fred-Casemiro midfield ahead of the league makes sense. I guess VdB would've started over Bruno if he was fit. Would've started Pellistri over Antony but maybe EtH wants Antony to build on his performance vs Reading. I expect to see wholesale changes in the second half if it stays 3-0.

Nice to see Rashford get a rest but surely Varane and Casemiro could have dropped out for this one
Varane hasn't played the last 2 matches, neither has Shaw, Martinez had plenty of rest post world cup

No other way than playing Casemiro. Sabitzer not signed in time and McTom unavailable.

Only Degea and Rashford. Tonight was ideal opportunity to rest the likes of Casemiro, Varane

Strong start, get a goal or 2, then get Casemiro, Bruno off for certain and also re-introduce Martial and Sancho in a pressure free setting.

Surely Shaw, Varane and Casemiro could’ve had the night off

Varane and Shaw could be rested but other than that not too many options right now. Glad Rashford is rested.

Well we are down to the bare bones on the bench. 3 under 21’s + The useless Dennis.

    Hennessey
    Williams - Boly - McKenna - Lodi
    Frueler - Mangala - Scarpa
    Lingard
    Johnson - Surridge.

Varane, Shaw and Martinez have all had rests post World Cup so it's not a major issue I think. Shaw and Varane haven't played since Arsenal away and Martinez was on the bench a lot after the World Cup.

The concerns are Bruno and Casemiro, we don't have the depth to rest them both but I certainly would have rested one of them.

I think EtH is probably mad to win a trophy and get this team winning a trophy and as such I’m not surprised. This is easily our best chance. Barcelona could easily knock us out and the FA Cup, feck knows, so no surprises we’re going all out.

The only real issue with the line up is starting Casemiro, but with Sabitzer not signed in time, McTominay unavailable and Eriksen injured, there's not much choice here. I'm sure he'll come off for Mainoo in the second half.

Varane does not need more resting and Martinez needs the minutes.

edit: forgot about Bruno. Sucks that VDB is injured.

going to go against the grain here and say I'm glad its a strong team. Finish the job, rest some players in the second half and take us to Wembley.

To not give Pellistri an outing in this match is quite frankly ridiculous. I hope for him he leaves and finds another club.

I know Ten Hag likes a strong line-up but it's a bit mad that Bruno and Casemiro are playing literally every game.

I'd have probably made just one or two more changes - maybe Maguire for Varane and Fernandes only on the bench?

But I'm pleased we've gone a lot stronger than some of the suggested line ups. Really don't fancy making this game unnecessarily tricky by going a goal or two down which some of those line ups flirted with.

Hopefully by 45-60 minutes we'll be in a position where we can give more minutes to Mainoo and Pellistri, and some game time for Sancho and Martial.

Good line up. Varane and Martinez needed to revive the partnership. Fred needed to get game fit.

I'd love to see a trio of rashford, Sancho and martial later on in the game.

Hoping bruno take it easy today

Ten Hag is not fecking around.

    Not even resting Varane.
What’s the obsession with resting players? He’s been rested already for 2-3 entire matches in the last 6/7 games.

It’s a cup semi final and we pay him a healthy wage, I’d rather he was on the field racking up appearances personally.

We need Martial, Sancho, Mainoo and Pellistri off the bench today, the fifth sub could be anyone

The ones wanting loads of changes. If they score the first goal, the same people will be cr*pping themselves. Another goal then we can make changes.
