I'm expecting around 3-0, will be a 1 sided match imo. God help us if it's not.

Depends how conventional your definition of always is.

    Not here:

    Or here:

    Or here:

    Or here:

    Or here:

...just to take a few examples.
Think by always they meant since football was invented (1992).

Just have a look online. The mood around the club is depressing. How did a summer that started so promisingly turn to this?

We've always been slow starters. A win today will hopefully lift the mood. That said, I'd like to see a good performance, rather than just a win because our football has been poor.

Yep. It’s been a shocking and rapid change in atmosphere and expectancy. From the Mainoo and Amad injuries and the Maguire and McTominay transfers not happening, everything has taken a nose dive.

2 bad performances got everyone down. Had we started off with 2 brilliant performances we wouldn't be out unearthing our worst fears. Someone would have already started a thread on our chances of winning the league.

We know he's shite, but the fact that many are calling for him to start is more to the fact that our midfield is a complete and utter shit show right now. Old man casemiro doesnt have any legs, Mount, I have no idea what he does. As for Bruno, now that the goals and assists have dried up, well, i just dont know.
The situation has changed. Had we sold Mctominay and Fred for big money and replaced them with upgrades this summer. We wouldn't be here suggesting Mctominay needs to come back into the team.

Fernandes & Mount are numbers 10's playing in midfield getting over-run, exposing the 31 year old Casimiro who was also not replaced this summer.

So, "Mctominay is trash" argument can no longer be used. Mount is injured, Fernandes has atrocious ball retention, his influence in the attacking third will dry up as Utd have zero control of football matches with the midfield Ten Hag has assembled.

We sold Fred without replacing him. So, Mctominay is the only box to box midfielder who can come in to stop midfield getting overrun by teams. The summer planning has been a mess. we have a weaker midfield now, than last season.

This summer was all about getting top replacement for Casimiro and a major upgrade on Fred or Mctominay. With Mount we have done neither. Mount can not even do Fred's job.

Don’t worry if we hammer Forest and then win against Arsenal that thread will start anyway.

I'm going 1-1 here. We're dire at the moment, so it'll be pretty even. We'll have more shots but we'll be useless in front of goal with someone like Casemiro getting ours.

Really don’t want to watch another clinic in missed chances. Want to see what we’re like if we get a goal and our tails are up.

Fans and Press: midfield is being overrun.

Ten Hag: midfield is not the problem, it’s players not following the rules.

We all saw players not tracking back in second half against Spurs, and that was just one aspect of them fecking up.

Errr we desperately needed a number 9, that was number 1 priority… and we bought one. the fact he was injured for the start is another matter
Agreed, a striker and a goalkeeper were most definitely the priority positions alongside a dynamic midfielder. I suspect Mainoo will have a bigger role to play this season, but Mount has major question marks for me. He's just not very good.

The general physical malaise from the preseason and the piling muscular injuries seem to point to something going wrong in the training regimen.

Fail to win this with Arsenal coming afterwards I'll start to really worry for the manager.

I don't think mount is that bad. He was far better than Bruno against spurs. I still believe a proper striker and productive wingers is what we lack now. Amad will do a better job than Anthony. Even martial over Rashy at the center. We will be good

I've come to the conclusion that people saying this didn't watch a minute of preseason.

Antony shouldn't be starting, but he tends to do better with a striker such as Martial, whose initial thought is to link play, rather than run off the ball like Rashford.

Rashford back on the left is a massive boost for us, with Garnacho available come off the bench to affect the game.
