Poor half. Saints been the better side. If we take this midfield to the Emirates we’re in trouble.

When they have the ball, they look like Barcelona with all the crisp 1 touch passing. When we get the ball they just press like crazy and bully us of the ball

It's always annoying but a game where you're losing at home to a shit side, Lukaku's inability to control even the simplest of passes is just infuriating.

Weve created loads but have been way too wasteful and they scored a screamer. Need to keep our hands up and sharpen up our touch a bit across everyone and just put the pressure on. We get one and we'll get a few more, just cant leave it too late.

It's really a shame that Fulham are so shite, 'cos I'd love to see Brighton and Southampton relegated instead of having to watch them piss about with us every year....

Our play just lacks intelligence. Pereira is marked by 3 Southampton players but Lukaku walks away instead of offering himself as an outlet because all he's thinking is get to the box and wait for a cross.
Yes, our players are either standing doing nothing or going to the box and waiting for a cross/long ball. The team play isnt good enough, we rely on individual brilliance most of the time.

Injuries and fatigue seem to have caught up to us in this game, we're getting bypassed far too easily in midfield and apart from the odd moment our attacking play has looked disjointed and careless. Ole needs to change something at half time otherwise we'll find ourselves at 75 minutes still down and wondering how to salvage something from the game, it's not working so we need him to be proactive.

We are too slow in building up our attacks - and our pressure on them is too poor. The good news is that we are creating chances - so if OGS can get the players to move the ball slightly faster, we can still score a few goals here

Started well and should probably have taken the lead, then allowed them to slow the game down a bit. Came back well after they scored but they could possibly have had 2 pens. Need to up the pace and show some composure in front of goal in the 2nd half.

Their wingback formation has caused us a lot of trouble. Pogba/pereira are getting sucked inside and then shaw/young are getting better attracted out. Pulled all over the pitch.

Our closing down hasn’t had any speed or aggression to it. Mourinho performance so far.

They’ve defended well, time-wasted superbly, pretty much had most of their team behind the ball and scored a screamer. We just need to be patient as they’ll tire and we will bag a couple.

Pereira has been shocking. Sanchez coming in Pogba's way as usual... Pereira and Sanchez need to come off. Young has been horrendous as well. Lukaku has had so many opportunities.... atleast one of them should have been put away....

Ole needs to be bold in this second half as this is not working, Gomes on for Andreas and Chong on for either Lukaku or Sanchez.
Sanchez looks like the only attacker with Pogba capable of cutting a pass through or creating something out of nothing. Andreas I didn't know was even on the pitch to be fair.

Playing with Alexis is like playing with ten men. Combine that with Lukaku looking useless once again, Pereira utterly average and we are struggling. Need some directness and clinical finishing.

No sooner did we not convert one of the three chances in the first ten, you kinda knew we'd struggle.

Some of us said So'ton are our bogey team at home, one win in 5 seasons and all that, but people still got carried away.

Strong 5mins we looked likely to go wild, they score a ridiculous goal, and then are time wasting like some lower league cup tie mob.

Really hope we get an equaliser early second half.

    :nervous:

Its funny -- if we had put away a couple of the chances, we would all be saying that its a fantastic performance. McT -- dominator. Perriera, silky.

This feels like a game where its not going to happen for us. hopefully i am wrong.
    Burnley mark two.

Not at all positive now. Something massive will have to change about the positioning across the pitch or this 45 minutes is just going to drift on by as the players lose stamina and run out of ideas.

    Ole MUST change something

We need Pogba to step up, but he has not been great recently with his standard. Home form is a big worry overall. Lukaku has looked sharp again otherwise I am not really impressed with our attack. Smalling so close to give away a penalty with how he plays although he has looked good going forward

Well we should be about 4-0 up. Instead we are 1-0 down. One of those games so far.
Aye, I don't get why people are so pissed. Thought we've played well and its been poor finishing thats really let us down. We should really have scored at least once by now. Rashford doesn't look fit though imo.

Bad half, although we had a few chances still. Sanchez needs to be subbed, otherwise we may be in a deep shit. Young terrible too

Rashford shouldn't be moved wide right because Lukaku and especially Alexis are worse players. We should be accomodating him because he was in great form, and not Sanchez.
Eh? They all interchanging. Lukaku was on the right too.

Lindelof didnt win the ball at all that half. Not a tackle, interception, clearance, header, block or even a foul to stop an attack. Thats a strange accomplishment from a CB.

On the other hand he had 100% pass completion.

And didn't give away a penalty like Smalling probably should have, or Young later on.

If Southampton played the way they always play at Old Trafford in their other games they wouldn't be constantly battling relegation.
